Question: Can anyone help with a 'checklist' of things we need to get done as a Chapter?

A. Yes the Tome has the guidelines for what a probationary chapter is supposed to do.  Your DC should be able to help you as well.

Question: If our application has been accepted, when will we get our Chapter packet?

A. The Camarilla sends out things of this nature in groups.  You should receive your packet with the next outgoing mail.  There is no set time frame for this.  However if you have specific questions you may refer to you DC.

Question: Can I be given contact info for the Anarch, Changeling, and Werewolf SA?

A.  Your CST should be able to help you with this.  If not, contact your DST.

1. Stacy Wilson has been pending one month for approval of MC 7.

2. Jerry Cortrite has earned enough prestige to become MC 6. His prestige logs were sent to the SW RC earlier this month.

3. Tim Crall has earned enough prestige to become MC 8.  His prestige logs were sent to the SW RC earlier this month.

A. An assistant has been appointed to deal with MC issues.

4. Altair Maine, member # 9811-128 has been removed from Phoenix House.  His membership is lapsed.

5. Jerry Cortrite sent in his fourth ordeal (Stage) over two months ago and has not received any word back as of yet. His check has been cashed.

A. See "Mailing" answer above.

6. At the beginning of February Patrick Deutsch sent an e-mail to the camstuff address.  He told them that because of the ruling on no minors being allowed at games that he, Katja Deutsch, Mary Jo Deutsch, and Eric Ingram wished to receive a refund and leave the Camarilla.  It has been close to 4 weeks and he has not received a reply from anyone.  He has told me to leave them on the membership roster for this month and to remove them when they get their money back.

A. Tell him to resend.  Put "Second Attempt" in the subject heading.  The mail to the camstuff address is tracked on a case by case basis.  Labeling the mail in this way should get it flagged for an immediate response.

7. As always, I'm curious to know what it's going to take to make a new Los Angeles domain.  Our chapter wishes very much to work with the others in the area as a domain once again.

A. Get all of the chapters together who wish to form a domain and have all the CC's send an email to me expressing this shared desire.  Once I get that I will get back in touch with all of the CC's and work out the details.

This is not the first time I have asked for this.  To date the response from LA has been minimal.

8. I was viewing the membership listings on the Camarilla page and noticed that the prestige totals are way off for the majority of Phoenix House.  How can I aid in updating this?

A. Ron Rooy, Director of Chapters, and/or Shea Porr Director of Membership Development would be the people to assist with this.

1. As our CST position is still vacant, and some issues needs are in the works of being ironed out in regarding the ST position.   How should it be recommended that individual members of this independent chapter go about getting their character(s) approved, the IC-character questions answered etc....?  I was unable to locate any such situation or scenario in the tome on the matter.

A. This will have to be addressed to the RST.  I have no recourse in this field.

2. Member: Wayne Boggess Cam#9812*091 has failed to renew his membership, and therefore is prohibited from participating in sanctioned events until he has done so.

Chapter Coordinator: Ree Soesbee 9803-186, vain13@hotmail.com

Ordeals: Tome, Chapters, Thespis, Stage

Last Report: 3/2/00 9:26:05 PM US Mountain Standard Time

1. Anathema has 3 MC approvals that have been pending for over a month. It is causing angry feelings and a general discontent with the Camarilla and the RC Staff. Two letters of complaint have been logged about the situation and unless it is resolved soon, I can only see it growing more heated.

*Reply: The RC staff has been in contact with all CCs of those members with pending MC class, and even posted to the sw-region/sw-rc lists on the issue of time.  There are simply too many members in this Region to slide through the MC class approvals with only two of us working on them.  As such, as of last week, we have Nikki McCorriston working directly and solely on MC approvals.  This, so they can have a turnaround time of no more than a month.

Nikki has been doing a good job at review and has already done a great job at starting to get this on track.  See bottom of report for new approvals.

2. The RC's announcement regarding independent members and transferals from Chapter to Chapter have also been poorly received. Three letters of complaint have been logged. Two more MC approvals will be sent to the RC from Anathema following this report; I would hate to see those also turn into letters of complaint.  Anathema is a somewhat volatile Chapter whose membership tends to speak their minds. However, these are the first significant complaints since Keith Curtz took the RC position.  [Ree] thinks that is notable.

A. [Keith] thinks this is good as well.  However this is not the place to discuss the rest of his feelings on the subject as THAT response is incredibly long.  [Keith] is happy that he has finally succeeded in getting the region to rally together.  He just wishes that it wasn't him they were rallying against. :-)

3. Anathema is still very concerned about the Domain situation in Los Angeles. In my Chapter's opinion, it has been poorly handled and at this point is nearly a lost cause. Many people in Anathema have put forth time and energy to better our relations with the other Chapters in this area, to create a Domain Constitution that was supported by all of the other LA Chapters, and to convince the Regional Staff that Los Angeles was ready to support and needed a Domain. If we can do anything to reinstate the Domain in Los Angeles, we have been and are willing, but at this point, Anathema has no motivation to continue fighting.

A. See answer above concerning the domain of LA status.

1. Wendy Rutherford is asking for confirmation of her next MC increase.

However, due to the current discussion on sw-region, I think it's been made quite clear that she ought not to hold her breath.

*Reply: Offering a solution to the problem, we have hired an MC staff member.

This should solve all those problems.  We're all about solutions and not dragging out the problems.

See bottom of report for new approvals.

2. The issue of the SW Ball prestige for the Storytellers has not been resolved.

As it stands now, my understanding is that they have yet to be awarded or recommended anything for their work on this project and they are sharpening their spears. It has been suggested that I attempt to corner (at least, as much as possible from hundreds of miles away) our notorious RST on this issue and, unless a better course of action can be suggested, I imagine that is what I'll do.

A. I have stated before that I have no recommendations to go on to make awards.  Until I receive something to this effect there is little I can do.

3. It seems Peter Kuszta was not awarded prestige for the months of (I believe).

July, August, and September for his SWARST-Influences duties

Ordeals: Tome, Chapters, Thespis, Stage

Last Report: 3/1/00 10:51:59 PM US Mountain Standard Time

1. Former CC Keith Scidmore 9903-068 is still due 13 National Prestige for on-time reporting from 4-99 to 3-99. It has not yet been awarded or recorded.

A. This award is handled by the Director of Chapters.  I'm sorry that you must continue to include it in your chapter reports.  I'm Ron will be working on getting this done as soon as possible.

2. Maledorium CST Mike Singer and CC Bob Janssen are demanding that members of other chapters submit to complete Character/Log audits, in advance, or they will not be allowed to play in their games.  I asked that they accept members' sheets signed by their own CST, and Bob Janssen reiterated the demand.

A. This is a matter to be handled by the ST chain.  However I will state that pre-approving a character sheet is something that can be asked by a hosting chapter's CST.  However a character audit should be handled by the Character/Member's CST and not that of another chapter.

3. Maledorium CST Mike Singer accused a Paradise Lost Member of cheating.  Upon investigation it turned out Mike Singer authorized the change he called cheating. The authorization Mike gave was in unambiguous written email.

A.  If this matter has been handled then there is no need to place it here in this report.  To do so could be construed as a spin campaign against another member and subject to disciplinary action.  Let's keep this type of stuff out of the reports, please.

4. Maledorium member Barbara James is thought to be playing her own character above her MC class due to the following award of 405 Prestige for selling plasma. This is based on the following entry found in Bob Janssen's Maledorium Chapter report, on the date shown. From March 98 to June 99 Barbara James was a member of Paradise Lost, and I did not authorize this.  Blood donation is not even allowed at this frequency.

A.  Will have prestige award verified for accuracy.

5. The game schedule propose by Maledorium CST Mike Singer for March 2000 forward would prevent Paradise Lost members playing the Prince, two Primogen, Sheriff, Scourge, and 8-10 other members from attending unless they miss their own chapter's  Sabbat games.

This is the choice of the members.  Maledorium is under no obligation to schedule their games around the desires and/or wishes of the members of Paradise Lost.  This has been stated before.  This matter is a recurring theme and is being met with the same answers as before.  Paradise Lost needs to worry about Paradise Lost.  Maledorium needs to worry about Maledorium.

***There have been some problems concerning the Cam/Anarch venue that need to be directed to the RST.

1. Since Moustique Noir is an independent chapter, is it the RC who award MC's above MC4?  If so then what do you need from me for Jared Nultemeier #9310-029?  Since he is pending MC 5.  Also for Jereme Anglin #9310-025 who will be reaching MC 8 in March?

*Reply: Send full prestige logs for each member to *Information removed per owner's request*

2. We have a new/old member [Joel Cottini #9504-027] in our chapter who has just let me know that he is in our chapter. I have no records for his prestige (If he had any) and neither does he. I'm trying to contact the YwaCC from back in 95-96.  How do I find out who the CC was back then? Basically I need to know if there is any way to get his previous (If Any) prestige.

A. Members are responsible for keeping own prestige logs.  It is to be tracked by the CC's and filed in their monthly reports.  Perhaps the Director of Chapters can help with this information.  Ron?

1. There were some issues this month with Ronni Eloff and Duncan Barrow regarding influences. I'm talking with both of them to try to iron out the issues and come to a workable resolution.

*Reply: Is this an ST issue?

2. Duncan Barrow played a regional NPC (Jim Lancaster, Toreador) last year as a setup for the Regional (GameCon) game. I never posted his prestige and it wasn't listed on Pete's list. I know he played the NPC 4 times as setup and both nights at GameCon. I'm looking for recommendations for what prestige to give to him??

 3. Scott also had a one-time prestige award from Shea Porr for two Ordeal creations (Stage/Creation and Thespis/Narration). Since this is a one-time only thing I've placed them in the "no category" area. I hope this is correct; it seemed the most appropriate given its description and nature of the work done.

A. Sounds good to me.

1. The member database still does not list [CC] as having completed the Thespis and Stage ordeals, and they have not received the certificates. These were sent in over a year ago (October, 1998), and the money order used to pay for them was cashed.  I have received no response from emails sent asking for the status of these ordeals. (Repeat entry from January report)

A. Address this issue to the camstuff address and if appropriate put "Second Attempt" in the subject heading as stated above.

2. After instituting a new policy of requiring all Prestige input to be given to me no later than the 25th of each month, I am still having problems with members turning in Prestige totals.  The members who HAVE been turning in Prestige have continued to do so, but the others did not respond to the new deadline.  Kudos to Denise Greene, and David McCorkell for their reports, which were received mid-month.

Regional Issues:

There were some complaints leveled against my staff and myself.  These issues have already been discussed with the appropriate parties and are in continuing discussion.  I will say that the complaints were valid and that they have brought to light some issues that are now in the process of being changed.  I have no problem with constructive criticism.  In fact I need it sometimes to realize the wishes and desires of the region.
