Questions and Comments:

October 2001

Web work and acting ARC Communications.

Prestige recommends are as follows:

* Robert Nickel for database program for mail lists, bulk of database

complete.: 40 Regional

* SW Region's list mods prestige for October (and some late ones from

Aug/Sept): found at

http://www.camarilla-sw.org/resources/prestige/listmods/index.html

Quarter four covers the month of October.

http://www.camarilla-sw.org/resources/prestige/listmods/2001qtr4.html

* Ronni Eloff for server usage space and all: 10 Regional

And I received this query from Brian LaMere

(blamere@san.rr.com):

"this is almost a silly question...but one cannot be a ARST and a ARC at the same time, can they? Else I would apply for this position.

Brian LaMere 9807083 SWARST-Solitaries"

What would his answer be? I am not sure personally.

/////

RC Comments:

No.

That's it for prestige recommends for October.

OVERVIEW

This report consists of the following sections:

1. SUMMARY

2. OUTSTANDING ISSUES

3. CURRENT ISSUES

4. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

5. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

1. SUMMARY

LA successfully pulled off hosting ICC and is actually a better Domain for it. Working with Las Vegas on their SWRE 2002 bid and expect at least 3 places to submit at the beginning of December.

LA will not be among them as they have decided to go for a mini-regional Cam/Anarch for their Ball pending the timing of the chosen SWRE timing.

2. OUTSTANDING ISSUES

None.

3. CURRENT PROJECTS

Working on the bids, that's pretty much it! It's actually pretty exciting.

Want to put forth the concept of Domains/chapters hosting themed mini-regional that Peter Kuszta talked about (by venue) and have people submit bids to get them into the habit of being organized and perhaps using them as a platform for future SWRE bids.

4. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

None yet.

5. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

I need to know if the $800+ that was being sent to Shannon by Elisa Graybill actually made it to him and if that money can be used as a deposit towards the SWRE (when chosen). Some hotels require deposits.

Emailed recently with Sean A about this, waiting to hear!

/////

RC Comments:

I did receive 3 checks from Elisa finally. One for 300, another for 500, and a third one that was made out to her for ~34. The last one she just signed over to me however it had been stamped 'NSF' when Elisa had tried to cash it earlier. The bank wouldn't touch it.

So we do have $800.00 at our disposal.

I opened an account to store it in however I will be writing a check for the full amount to Sean Alexander as I feel it is better held by the ARC Administration.

ARC Report

October 2001

OVERVIEW

This report consists of the following sections:

1. SUMMARY OF RECEIVED REPORTS

2. LIST OF MISSING REPORTS

3. OUTSTANDING ISSUES

4. CURRENT ISSUES

5. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

6. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

1. SUMMARY

ARIZONA:

==============

AZ-003: The Last Outpost

Chapter has 21 members; two (2) new members, and one (1) pending member. Two (2) members are pending MC advancement: Mike Meyer

(9905-025) to MC7, and Phil Bernake (2000-04-008) to MC 6.

Last Chapter meeting October 5; next chapter meeting November 9.

A new CC, Jeni Smith, has been appointed by a "landslide" vote.

Current Projects: Chapter is planning "a big camp out game." They will also be setting up a committee to bid for ICC 2004.

Problems: There have been some problems getting Prestige audits done with Sarah, due to computer problems and lost e-mails; however one of the three approvals has been taken care of.

No other suggestions/questions/comments included in the report.

AZ-004: Nightshift

Chapter has 37 members; one (1) member transferred out of the Chapter.

Twenty-four (24) members nominated for 100 (or more) Prestige Points. Two (2) members passed Ordeals this month. Three (3) members, Kerry Shattswell (to MC 3), Christopher Goodrich and Mark Lucky (to MC 2) earned MC advancement this month.

Last Chapter meeting September 13; next chapter meeting first or second Thursday in November. No Chapter meeting held in October "due to the fact that ICC took are normal slotted time for such a meeting."

Current Projects: Ongoing food drive continues at a crawl; CC has decided to continue with it as donations are still coming in, just not rapidly. "I have found that the chapter is not responding to the every game announcement, however mentioning that canned food is required for play... only joking, does work."

Clothing drive also continues with Ben Wintersteen as the point of contact.

Chapter participation in Walk against Cancer raised more than $300 dollars; Chapter will participate in this again on November 17.

The need for blood donations has also been communicated to Chapter membership, though local blood banks are "in a back log."

Comments: "I read that the Advocate position was dropped from the regional staff, this is great concern to me... since Jana was aware of the key issues going on here in Arizona. I will do my best to enlighten the ARC arbitration."

Problems/Questions/Suggestions: "I had a great time a ICC this year, which by the way was my first time in attendance.

However there was a good

deal of disruption by members, after having a door closed in my face... i worked security...i had enough, as did my friend out was talking to the person rude enough to do such a thing. People this is unacceptable, the security team volunteered to make sure that member’s of this organization are safe. They spent large amounts of time out of game, to ensure that the job was done. "My suggestion for the next ICC is to hang a map at the sign in area noting smoking areas and the states policy on smoking.  This may seem like a small issue, but every little bit does help. In addition the alcohol area of the event should be a better lit, I was having the damnest time carding people."

AZ-005: Tithe of Souls

(ARC Note: CC has submitted Ordeal of Chapters; CST has submitted Ordeal of Narration) Chapter has 18 members; there are some potential new members who are deciding between the two Arizona Chapters at this time.

Last Chapter meeting October 6; next Chapter meeting November 18.

Potential new members who attended games last month are filling out paperwork to join the club.

Chapter treasury contains $400.00 dollars.

Current projects include a clothing drive, a canned food drive, and more social events to help people get better acquainted.

Problems persist between Tithe of Souls and Night Shift. CCs of both Chapters are working to smooth these over. It is slow going, but they are confident things will get worked out. CC notes is hoping that Pete's (presumably Peter Kuzsta's) "laying down the law" will helped considerably.

No other suggestions/concerns/comments in the report.

AZ-009: Misterio Vista

Chapter has 11 members; four (4) pending members. One (1) member nominated for more than 100 Prestige Points; one (1) member nominated for Regional Prestige, and one (1) member nominated for National Prestige.

Three (3) members are pending MC advancement: Steven Whitelock to MC4, Jeremy Jacobs to MC3, and Chris Hart to MC3.

Last Chapter meeting October 28; next Chapter meeting TBD.

Chapter treasury contains 35-cents.

One (1) member nominated for more than 100 Prestige; one (1) member recommended for Regional Prestige; one (1) member nominated for National Prestige.

Current projects: a can-recycling project.

Chapter elected new CC and CST on October 28 (see below).

Meeting minutes: "CST was voted out of office and Steven Whitelock was voted in Office after he stepped down from CC, Cassia Gilbert Was voted in office of CC, We then address several membership problems. Christine Lawson Bernacke threw a Hissy fit because people didn’t agree with what she said during the meeting."

Comments: "Several of my members lost membership numbers when they tried to login they couldn’t then upon me searching with the membership numbers other people came up instead. I passed my ordeals but then I stepped down from CC but got voted in as CST so I’m going to send in my last ordeal ASAP.

I’m encouraging the new CC to do hers as quickly as possible so she’s not voted out of office like the CST. The CC and the CST are having a meeting to discusses the member Christine Lawson-bernacke and possible punishment to be handed out this member has cause a great deal of problems within the chapter and will be dealt with within the chapter."

No other problems/questions/suggestions in the report.

CALIFORNIA:

==============

CAD-003: Domain of Myst [Report late: 11/8/01] Domain has two (2) Chapters with a total of 24 members; one (1) pending member. One (1) member recommended for more than 100 Prestige Points; two (2) members nominated for Regional Prestige. One (1) member is currently undergoing an MC audit: Sandra Stewart, #9704-092 to MC6 or more.

Domain Treasury contains $180.00 (Still pending retrieval of the $249.00 cashiers check from former DC Kimmi Albee Cashier Checks from Winter Ball 2000).

Last Domain meeting September 29; next Domain meeting TBD. Last Chapter Council meeting October 7; next Chapter Council meeting TBD. Last Officers' Training meeting September 2; next Officers' Training meeting is pending.

Current Situation: The Halloween party, Membership Recruiting drive, Newsletter, and December Annual Winter Cam-Anarch ball were all cancelled due to lack of interest/support/participation on the part of members. DC notes this is not a new trend, but has decided not to do what DC’s in the past have done: shoulder all the burden on the DC staff in order to make them work.

The Domain Chapter council meeting was postponed due to suspensions and elections of new Chapter officers.

(ARC Note: The rest of this is being quoted verbatim so as not to diminish the impact of the DC’s commentary.) "I am waiting for the official announcement from the Regional Staff, specifically the announcement from Shawn Jackson, ARC Arbitrations.

"This is my seventh month in office, and the issues that were driving the domain into dissolution before I became DC are still actively occurring. I have communicated these issues to the regional staff and have been waiting for resolutions.

"As such I feel I am not able to anymore handle these personal agenda issues, and the continued disregard for the Tome and the processes of the Camarilla, the constant level of debate, disagreement, bickering that occurs and the . More so, I am very worn out trying to fight a battle of 'who can create the most negative reason for someone's actions'.

"I think the hardest part is the continued psychoanalyzing that goes on about reports from members of the domain instead of talking, or even more so following the Tome and writing up a complaint. Instead of just seeing the report for an 'as-is' situation, entire creative interpretations are formulated and disseminate these views to other members, creating a chain reaction of lynch mob mentality.

"Occam's Razor. The explanation requiring the fewest assumptions is most likely to be correct.

"The suspensions of the two chapter coordinators, while in some members minds were viewed suspiciously, these members were suspended because of their actions. The Regional and National staff are not required to divulge the exacts. However, the fact that as DC I am stuck in the middle without any safety net, without anyone from Regional or national willing to at least publicly put out some of the fires concerning these, has left me holding the bag so to speak, and in some members' minds, the person responsible for these suspensions."

"Currently John Osborne is holding the position until Adam's suspension is over. John did not appear to be informed by Adam prior to the announcement on the Myst list that was a forward from the National level. I believe for John to be an effective Chapter Coordinator he will need to start discerning what the "WHOLE" chapter wants, and not just a handful of the members."

Vote on the status of the Domain:

Pharoah's Myst: 5 to retain; 2 for dissolution; 3 abstentions; 7 who did not vote.

The Dragon's Coils: 7 to retain; 2 for dissolution; 3 abstentions.

Questions:

In response to Questions from Pharoah's Myst Chapter report:

1) Prestige Audit on Sandra Stewart (9704-092): "This audit is being conducted to gather the appropriate documentation to handle the MC audit that previously removed 400 prestige due to differences in what is accepted as documentation in another region. Upon inspection, several of the documents presented were never followed up by the GL ARC Prestige and would have validated clearly the claims. Once all documentation is gather as originally stated a copy of these will be given to Sandra to give to her CC.

This audit was requested by the member."

2) Domain Member of the Month: "The 2001-09 Domain report stated that the Process was being re-designed to remove the Chapter section and the Coordinator's assistance. A form was to be available at the First of November. It should be noted: several members did not accept the basic statement of all Camarilla processes require members of Good standing to participate in. This is not a domain Policy, but a statement from the Tome.

A suspended member is not of good standing.

"There are no other domain level policies, and the domain reports are available through the Domain Planning email list."

3) Game site Prestige: "This has been answered at the regional level during Keith Curtz's administration and has been upheld under Shannon’s administration. Securing site can only be claimed once for a site. The remaining times it falls under Maintaining/Cleanup."

4) "The entire Domain Section:" "I am leaving this up to the Regional staff to handle. I have already discussed this with the ARC arbitrations my concerns and comments about the inappropriate process several members choose to take with this by using the Chapter report to bypass the Complaint Process listed in the Tome."

5) DC will break out Prestige by Category.

6) "All prestige for Travel, housing must include the names of the members to be valid."

7) DC would find it "helpful" to have dates included in attendance awards for Chapter meetings, or setup/cleanup awards.

In response to TDC Chapter report questions:

1) The ACC would represent the Chapter at the Domain meeting unless they appoint someone different to take on that responsibility. The CC and ACC are not both required to attend, though it is recommended.

2) As with Pharoah's Myst, DC will allow Regional staff to handle commentary section.

3) DC will break out Prestige by Category

4) DC requests another format be used for Prestige section to make it easier to read.

5) DeeJay McBride has been pending for three (3) months and is not listed in MyCamarilla. DC recommends CC obtain documentation of payment and submit to Membership services directly to resolve this.

Problems

1) "Waiting for several official announcements that affect the domain."

2) Two prestige items submitted were not allowed due to lack of supporting documentation.

Suggestions: A public announcement from the Regional staff regarding Chapter Coordinator suspensions will help to settle the "suspicious rumors."

DC feels that if people knew what got these CCs into trouble, future issues could be avoided.

Question: "Can you award Prestige for lodging someone at ICC in your room if that person lives in the area?"

CAD-004: Black Magic Kingdom

Domain comprised of four (4) Chapters. Sepulchre did not file a report.

Problems:

1) "Member of the domain was suspended but it was handled in the chapter report and I see no need to report it again."

Comments:

1) A new ADC, Jason Bouch, has been appointed.

Questions:

1) "Is the RC still waiting for info about the blood drive prestige?"

/////

RC Comments:

Yes and no. This is what I propose to all chapters and Domains waiting to hear about the blood drive prestige from blood donations (and also time donated to facilitate a blood drive for those who could not donate) between (and including the dates of Sept 11th and Oct 25th:

The CC or DC should compile a list of members with their cam numbers and the date of the donation in question.

Submit those lists as separate reports to the Regional level. Remember that it was ruled that any such donations during that time frame should be considered "Cam Sponsored". Furthermore I as RC advertised an incentive of an additional 5 Regional Prestige ('other' category) for such donations.

Those lists will then be complied and submitted to the NC office. Given that we are waiting on the new NC to be chosen, there may be a delay in turn around.

/////

2) Many people worked at ICC this year. DC has asked they not claim any Prestige until it has been awarded. DC will post these awards on a future report, unless that is incorrect. Please advise.

////

RC Comment:

How is this a question? Recently there was an announcement that ICC prestige has not been awarded yet. The National Office ICC Coord staff should be resolving this soon..

/////

3) Is there anything the Domain can do to support the Region -- position or no position?

/////

RC Comments:

Yes. Work together. Communicate with each other in the interest of understanding. Seek to resolve issues rather than jockey for advantage. Too often I've seen generalized 'questions' that are geared to fish for responses that can be used to loophole or lawyer future situations by pointing to precedent. Those officers and members that came to grief with the Regional office did so primarily because they sought to butt heads and work against or around the system rather than with it. Folks will find that the Regional office will bend over backwards to serve them if they will just follow procedure and comport themselves in a mature and adult fashion.

CAD-006: Los Angeles Domain

(ARC Note: DC assumed position in May 2001; all ordeals are currently pending, having been turned in at ICC.) Domain comprised of six (6) Chapters; total of 93 members. Last Domain meeting, October 7; next Domain meeting December 9 (tentative)

The following members qualify for MC advancement:

Kevin Millard (Anathema, #9809-017) to MC 8; Shanti Ellis (Anathema,

#9904-188) to MC 4; Christopher Williams (Anathema, #9608-034) to MC 10; John Blankenship (Anathema, #9705-021) to MC 10; and Kyle Humfeld (Phoenix House, Cam#9604-230) to MC 12.

Projects:

1) Domain/Chapter socials: Attendance at a play of "Dracula;" road trip to Arizona games.

2) Organizing and scheduling domain & chapter fund-raising; possibly instituting dues. Money needed to find new sites.

3) Membership drive campaign.

4) Creation of a "new and improved" Domain Web site.

5) Filling vacant ADC positions.

Problems/Questions:

1) "While I have heard much second hand concerning their choice of a new Chapter Coordinator and new Storytelling Staff I have had little luck in getting into contact with Legends & Dreams, my goal this month is to meet and greet each member within that chapter and to personally welcome them to Los Angeles."

2) Repeat of a question from last month: "Is it possible to raffle off the ability to create a single higher MC character than one would normally be able to create. In essence a less grand scale of the character auction done at ICC a few years ago."

/////

RC Comment:

My take is the best way to do this would be to convince the ST of appropriate level to allow the 'winning member' to create an open ended NPC for them to play. That however is going to be an ST call. MC itself really can't be raffled off.

/////

3) "The RC mentioned getting back to us on the matter of 'In the Shadows of a Saint' Chapter # any definitive feedback and information on whatever requirements are still necessary would be greatly appreciated."

/////

RC Comment

In essence we look for a consistent track record of on time reporting. We also look for indications of chapter cooperation and cohesion and the ability to get along and work with other chapters and domains.

Chapter projects are good as well (drives, socials, etc).

Another good thing to have (not necessary but very compelling) is to have another established chapter or Domain that is nearby to act as sponsor to that chapter. This can foster cooperation and give the new chapter a resource of experience and advice on how to surmount Coordination and St challenges that all new chapters face. Positive feedback to the Region from the sponsoring chapter can go a long way.

/////

CA-003: Phoenix House [August Report late, 9/14/01] Chapter has ten (10) members. One (1) member, Kyle Humfeld (9604-230), is pending approval for MC12; logs have been forwarded to new DC, Chris Williams.

Chapter meeting dates not noted in report.

Charity drives continue "as usual."

Comments: A few members are waiting for Prestige awards from ICC.

No other problems/suggestions/questions in the report.

CA-013: Pharos Myst

Chapter has 16 members; three (3) members transferred out of the chapter, and one (1) Pending member. Two (2) members are pending MC approvals: Ronni Eloff to MC 9, and John Osborne to MC 3. One (1) member nominated for over 100 Prestige; four (4) members nominated for National Prestige.

Last Chapter meeting September 15; next Chapter meeting November 17.

CC has been suspended until November 22; report was filed via Ronni Eloff from John Osborne, the acting CC.

Chapter elected a new CST, Rowan Cota, as the result of discussions held on the Chapter e-mail list.

Current Projects:

Edited for privacy

Problems:

1) Acting CC requests updated Prestige records for Sandra Stewart, #9704-092; Chapter records do not match with DC’s.

/////

RC Comments:

Who are you requesting this from?

/////

2) "The wording of the Domain Member of the Month policy as well as other local Domain-level policies doesn't appear to be immediately available from the Myst website. Some clarification may be necessary in the future."

/////

RC Comments:

An excellent idea.

/////

3) "A member allows games to be hosted at his house on a monthly basis.

Should prestige awards for this be listed under "Securing game site" or some other category? (This was asked in the previous report. To my knowledge there has been no answer.)"

/////

RC Comments:

Actually Aaron Morgan and I have answered this question several times. Many asking this question continue to ask it in a rephrased manner every time we answer it.

No, it is a one time award. Maintaining a game site is different.

/////

4) The Acting CC discusses the "Domain problem" in the Chapter report; included is some direct feedback on the part of Chapter members in response to this problem. (ARC Note: The commentary is long and detailed; I cannot hope to summarize it accurately without affecting the intent of the message.

For this reason, I recommend the actual Chapter report be referenced for details.)

No other questions/comments/suggestions in the report.

/////

RC Comments:

It seems clear that there is quite a bit involved in the "Domain problem" from all sides. I think that Sean Jackson is making the best head way with the Chapters and the Domain here.

For the record, the Region is not 'out to kill the Domain'. If the chapters want to have their Domain, then we encourage it. The reason we are 'still asking these question' is that from our end we've never received a definitive answers. After the DC asked us to dissolve the Domain, we figured it was high time to become directly involved and find out what was going on.

/////

CA-015: Anathema

(ARC Note: CC has not passed the required ordeals yet; says "None graded yet, although they've been sent in." CST has not passed the Ordeal of Narration yet; no date of position assumption in the report.)

Chapter has 26 members; two (2) members have transferred back to Kansas City. Last Chapter meeting was October 6; next Chapter meeting is November 3.

Kevin Millard (9809-017) is still waiting for a Prestige award for editing the Vampire 5.0 rules in November of 1999.

Five (5) members are awaiting MC approvals: John Blankenship (9705-021) and Chris Williams (9608-034) from MC9 to MC10; Kevin Millard (9809-017) from MC7 to MC8; Shanti Ellis (9904-188) from MC3 to MC4; and Dan Luboff (Pending) from MC1 to MC7.

Current projects: trying to organize a caravan to Arizona, to reciprocate for Arizona members visiting Anathema's games.

No problems/questions/concerns/comments included in the report.

CA-016: The House of the Silver Crescent [Report late, 11/2/01] Chapter currently has 16 members; one (1) member transferred in and two members transferred out.

Last Chapter meeting August 18; next Chapter meeting TBD.

One (1) member nominated for over 200 Prestige. Two (2) members nominated for Regional Prestige; five (5) members nominated for National Prestige.

Chapter pursuing purchasing a domain name for their Website, and finding new hosting services. Chapter also examining avenues for raising funds "in order to be able to purchase things for the club, and be able to afford some new venues."

Chapter did not engage in any charitable activity this month; though a few members will be involved in the City of Hope Bowl-a-thon organized by Dawn Ramos, CC of CA-034.

As there are already two Sabbat and two Cam/Anarch games hosted in the Domain each month, HSC will focus on Mage and Changeling venue for a "little while." Cam/Anarch games will be held on player request. See CST report for full details.

A no-challenges IC bowling night and a movie night remain possibilities for November. CC is also considering a Monopoly night an Ordeals social.

These will be discussed at the next Chapter meeting which is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of November 3.

Comments: Prestige audit of Mike Jackson has been completed and sent to the DC for MC8 review. Three disparate logs with varying entries were examined and compiled into a single log for the DC.

Problems:

1) CC submitted Ordeal of the Tome online in September, and has not received any notification. He wants to know if he can add the appropriate Prestige award for completing the Ordeal to his log "as I did complete the ordeal and I have waited longer than the expected time."

2) C.R. Teodoro (2000-09-167) was suspended for the month of November, and docked 250 Prestige for events transpiring over the course of ICC weekend. No details were included in the report.

3) CC had to run Arbitration between Megan Parks (2001-02-143), and Diana Brokl (2000-10-048) this month as the result of days-long verbal abuse between these two members. As a result of the agreement, Diana will be transferring to DSE on November 1, and Megan will be retiring her current character as soon as the current plot is wrapped up by the ST.

No other questions/suggestions in the report.

CA-017: The Bureau [Report late 11/2/01] Chapter has 17 members.

Last Chapter meeting August 29; next Chapter meeting TBD.

One member nominated for over 100 Prestige; though this appears to be the result of many months of awards included in this report.

Election of new CC to be held at next Chapter meeting.

Comments: "I quit. School + work + Cam = insane Berek who doesn't get any work done. I'm burnt out, so I'm not just stepping down, I'm walking away for a little while. I figure I'll be back to the Cam in about 3-6 months, depending on how long it takes for me to find the fun again."

Problems: "My ACC, Marshall Foster, is currently serving his second suspension in as many months, so, as this report is my last act as CC, the Bureau is currently without any coordinating staff. I know my chapter will pick up the slack, but we will inform the DC and RC staff of a new contact as soon as possible until such time as a new CC is elected."

No other questions/suggestions in the report.

CA-021: Moustique Noir

(ARC Note: CST appointed in March 2001; has not passed any of the Ordeals to date.) Chapter has 57 members; 19 expired members. The following members are pending MC approval: Dave Barry (9803-159) to MC5 pending the outcome of a prestige audit; Keith Banks (2000-04-294) is now MC3; Nick Caston (2000-04-295), Martin L. Roebin (2000-07-042), and Bryce Barrow (2000-10-164) are now MC2.

Last Chapter meeting September 26; next Chapter meeting to be held in October.

Current Projects: An ongoing food and clothing drive are underway. A Chapter blood drive is scheduled for October 13.

Problems:

1) James M. Acton (9702-077) a new member, having just joined for the first time in November 2000 has been given someone else's membership number.  He is due a new member package.

2) Martin Chamberlain, Ty Stiegler, Erik Frank, Noel Wharton, and Bryce Barrow joined on a group membership; they have not received membership numbers, despite repeated inquiries and e-mails.

3) Jason R. Watkins sent in a membership application and a check, which has been cashed. There is no listing for Mr. Watkins on the Cam site.

4) William Purdy (9809-097) renewed online with a credit card, yet he is still listed as expired.

5) Nick Toka sent a renewal and a money order on the 17th of July. He is not listed in the membership on the Cam site.

6) Aaron Bryant (2000-08-190), H. Monique Gilbert (2000-08-191), Keith Banks (2000-04-294), and Michael Seelau (9403-108) renewed on a group membership on August 1; they are still listed as expired.

7) Bryce Barrow (2000-10-164) submitted the Ordeal of the Tome on August 14, along with the necessary payment; no results have been forthcoming.

8) "Aaron Bryant (200008190) sent in all three of his ordeals (Tome, Narration, Chapter) within the required time frame for his position as CST.

We noted in both the June and July Chapter Reports that he had passed his ordeals, but he is still being told that they are incomplete. Please let me know what we need to do to clear this up."

No other questions/concerns included in the report.

/////

RC Comments:

The Camarilla site has a contact page to submit inquiries on the status of all these things. Use that contact point and include it in your next report so the attempt is documented in case inaction continues.

/////

CA-022: Dark Tower

Chapter has 29 members; two (2) transferred members.

Chapter Treasury contains approximately $132 dollars.

Kimiko Drew is still pending MC9 approval. One member nominated for more than 100 Prestige; one member nominated for Regional Prestige. Last Chapter meeting October 27; next Chapter meeting November 10.

Chapter elected a new CST, Chris DiAngelo. Chapter Coordinator elections to be held next month. Chapter blood drive will be held on or around November 19.

Sabbat game attendance continues to decline. D. Scott McQuiston has stepped down as ACST Changeling effective immediately.

Mage venue game is running smoothly. Cam-Anarch game was subject to what CC has termed a "chapter reset." Garou game will not be held until needs of the current venues can be met.

Charities: Food and clothing drive for the needy to be held; volunteer work for Tree Fresno.

No fundraisers were scheduled.

Problems: "Perhaps it's just generalization, but something about Peter Savas assuming I'm male, when I most obviously do not have a penis, bothers me. =) Just givin' ya crap, Peter!"

(ARC Note: Sorry, Mica; I think I may have missed the last two letters in your name and jumped to the wrong conclusion. I sincerely apologize for any offense.)

No questions/suggestions/comments.

CA-023: Sepulchre

Chapter has 15 members. Last Chapter Meeting September 17; next Chapter Meeting November 2.

Chapter has elected a new CST, Joe Moon, who will assume his duties on November 1.

Comments: "I would like to give a big hell yeah to the regional team and the domain of LA for hosting ICC. It was a blast guys, that was a hell of a lot of fun."

Problems:

1) "Sepulchre is seeking to leave Black Magic Kingdom.

We have no hard feelings towards our old domain; rather the OOC and IC style of the chapter does not mesh with the rest of the domain. This is not a rash choice, as it was first voted on in May, then again in September.

This has currently been brought to the DC, who wishes to fix problems rather then have us leave. We just want out."

2) Martha is not listed as CC of the Chapter, and is unable to get onto the MyCam database.

Questions:

1) "ARST prestige...Is it listed somewhere like the indy CC's prestige (which is super cool, BTW) is listed?"

2) "September blood drives...what’s up with that national prestige? Not gonna happen? It was explained to me that it would go up the chain from our September reports and then be granted by our RC through the NC...But with the NC stepping down...? What’s up?"

No other comments/concerns included in the report.

CA-025: Monsters Under the Bed

Chapter has 14 members; one (1) new member, two (2) transferred members, and two (2) pending members. There was no Chapter meeting in October due to ICC; the November Chapter meeting is TBA.

Current projects: Prestige Audits; the Elders' Salon, and Chapter funds and fundraising/accounting.

Comments: "The chapter membership made a strong showing at ICC, and for all intents and purposes, enjoyed the event. The Elders Salon was well-decorated, we had help from everyone involved, and it was well-attended by the Elder players at ICC, so I have to say- hooray!

We brought it together nicely."

Problems:

1) Greg Milardo (2000-02-173) is listed as expired in the national database. A letter sent to Camstuff on 10/10/2001 has yielded no response other than the automated on. CC is not worried yet.

2) National Prestige for charitable efforts in response to the September 11 tragedy has not been forthcoming. "I'm going to assume, unless told otherwise, that by listing the two members who donated in last month's report, their names and donations have been put on that separate list. If this is incorrect, further direction on who to notify would be nice."

3) Past records for the Chapter: Details not included in report; noted that a private request was sent to the RC directly due to the sensitive nature of this request.

4) Prestige for Ari Nieh, who has been the moderator for the National Malkavian list, has been forthcoming for months. CC will attempt to track it down.

5) Monsters vs. the Domain of Myst: "I was not aware that such a feeling of competition, or frustration at Monsters having left the Domain over 6 months ago still existed. Perhaps, under this light, little idiosyncrasies suddenly make more sense. When the CC of Pharos Myst has come back from his suspension, and a new CC of Dragon's Coils has been chosen, I will try to open lines of communication with them, because the levels of disinformation running around in the Myst Domain seem to be becoming overwhelming."

No other comments/questions/concerns included in the report.

CA-027: Nickels and Dimes [Report late, 11/9/01] (ARC Note: CC has not passed any of the required Ordeals; no date of position assumption included in the report.) Chapter has 12 members; four (4) pending and three (3) inactive.

Last Chapter meeting October 27; next Chapter meeting on the last weekend of the month or held at the Chapter game.

Comments: "Jarrod Snow has taken to the prestige end of things nicely and will be taking over completely at the end of this month. ICC has also inspired us to have a full time Events ACC who will devout his time to the following: Helping the CST find venues, to set up a monthly social for the chapter, and to set up a chapter trip to ICC in Dallas next year. I have a resourceful young man that stepped up and we welcomed Jordon Amthor into the realm of setting up socials (he he) Our welcome back party for Eric went off without a hitch and everyone found that NFL 2K2 was a vicious game when playing for fun." (sic)

Projects: Domain-wide Christmas Social in formative stages, but is very promising. Chapter will be setting up a canned food and clothing drive for the Christmas holidays.

No other problems/questions/concerns included in the report.

CA-030: Luna's Reprisal

(ARC Note: CC assumed position 03/2000; has not passed any of the required Ordeals yet.) Chapter has 14 members; two (2) members transferred out and one (1) member transferred into the Chapter. Chapter Treasury contains $36.80.

Last Chapter meeting August 29; next Chapter meeting November 2.

Elections for a new CC will be held at the next chapter meeting.

Approximately 50% of the Chapter was in attendance at ICC.

Current Projects: San Diego Domain has seen no progress this month.

No other problems/questions/concerns/comments included in the report.

CA-032: Chateau Gaumont de la Nuit Eternelle Chapter has 17 members; one (1) member transferring (details in next month's report), and three (3) prospective members.

One member recommended

for Regional Prestige. Last Chapter meeting October; next Chapter meeting November. Chapter treasury contains $701.05.

Chapter donated $100.00 dollars to the Leukemia Society in sponsorship of Matt Smith. Carnevil raised $700.00 dollars during ICC.

Ongoing Projects: Sabbat game on the first and third Friday of the month. Newsletter will be returning to print soon.

Re-issue of chapter Bylaws and Amendments, and subsequent vote.

New Projects: Organizing Rio Sangre.  Preparing a bid for SWRE.

Increasing game attendance and recruiting new members. Changeling game and Sabbat games.  Revamping the chapter Website.

Problems:

1) CC has been trying to resolve some long-standing issues between Chateau and chapters in Marysville/Yuba City. Wonders if it "would be better suited left alone," and plans to do so unless "productive steps" can be made soon.

2) "Louis Somers tried to join our chapter without notice before hand.

Then approached me about his changing chapters, sighting that he was being treated unfairly.  I began looking into the matter before ICC. I then told him to leave it alone until after ICC. He didn't leave it alone. I upon his request I audited his prestige in front of National and International Board members. It was found that he had less prestige then he was claiming. I then told him to leave this issue alone until after ICC.

Again he approached me about changing chapters so he could continue to play a desanctioned character. This matter went back and forth over ICC.

His CC suspended him on the next week. Louis sent me an email about it and other issues after he was suspended. I reported it to his CC."

3) Bryan Perryman's (2000-04-123) membership continues to show up as "expired" even though he claims a $25 payment has been submitted twice.

Bryan has been informed by the CC of the steps to take, but if he does not, the CC hopes this notice will get appropriate attention.

No other questions/concerns in the report.

CA-033: The Dragon's Coils

(ARC Note: Report filed by acting CC, Robin Johnson

9910-017)

Chapter has 12 members; one (1) member has transferred out and moved to China -- Dan Bass.

Last Chapter meeting October 26; next Chapter meeting November 24.

October game will be held at a members' home in San Jose.

Chapter will be hosting an "Ordeals Party" to help new members and new officers.  New CC and CST (ARC Note: Chris Cornish and David Weitz were named, but both were noted as being CST) have been elected and will step into their roles on November 1; discussion of new projects has been table until they take office.

Chapter is still working on their Bylaws. Chapter IC and OC lists were discussed; they are not sanctioned lists, however the CoC must still be observed on them.

Problems: CC has moved to China, was suspended from the Cam, and has left the club "permanently." The official policy of not discussing reasons for suspensions has "created an air of extreme unease and a marked decrease in the willingness of chapter members to discuss issues outside of the chapter."

/////

RC Comments:

I'm unclear where it was ever communicated that the reasons could not be discussed. Certainly while the member in question is suspended he is not to involve himself in Cam business or activities, but if another member was interested in getting the details, the Coordinator chain is always open to such inquiries. I believe I made such a stance clear on the SW coord list earlier. Thus far however I have received no inquiries for details on the suspension.

/////

CST has stepped down due to real life considerations; he has agreed to help the new CST as best as he can, and will be remaining ACST Garou for now.

The "continual negative portrayal of both the chapter and its officers in the official Domain Status Reports" is causing growing chapter unease as well. CC recognizes that the DC is entitled to her opinions, and should be allowed to express them; however "the tone of the Domain Reports has been perceived as more a list of complaints and accusations without any attempt at resolution or any mention of the ways in which the chapter and its officers have been trying to support the DC, other Domain officers, Domain policies, actions, games, and events, as well of the other chapter in the Domain."

Questions:

1) If a CC is suspended and a Domain Coordinator Council meeting is held, is the lead ACC the only representative of the chapter that attends?

////

RC Comments:

Seems like a DC call. Surely at least the ACC (who would be the 'acting CC') would attend.

/////

2) If a CC is permanently removed from office, and the lead ACC is now the acting CC, and a Domain Coordinator Council meeting is held before a new CC can be elected, is the lead ACC the only representative of the chapter that attends, or do they appoint a new lead ACC to accompany them?

/////

RC Comments:

From this I infer that it's customary for the CC to have an ACC accompany them to such meetings. Sounds like the DC's call again. It would sound fair to 'appoint an acting ACC' if they really felt it necessary. Is there a sense that the chapter is under represented if they do not?

Dispute Resolutions, Disciplinary Actions, Complaints, or Arbitrations that have gone to Mediation:

Edited for privacy

No other concerns/comments in the report.

CA-034: Dark Side of Eden [Report late: 11/2/01] Chapter has ten (10) members; one (1) member transferred into the Chapter. One (1) member passed all four Ordeals this month. One (1) member nominated for over 100 Prestige. One (1) member, Shaun Kelley, moved from

MC1 to MC4.

Last Chapter meeting September 8; next Chapter meeting TBD.

Current projects: Finding an indoor site for games, and working on charity events.

Comments:

1) Shaun Kelley's Prestige audit is concluded. His MC advancement is the result of this audit and his completion of the Ordeals.

2) CC is still trying to acquire Caroline Joy Wood’s from her old chapter; she is also showing as suspended on the national site, but CC has received confirmation this is an error and will be remedied soon.

3) CC has yet to name an ACC; should be announced soon.

Questions: How to handle ICC Prestige? Should CC wait for some notification from National, or make those awards?

No other problems/suggestions included in the report.

CA-035: City of Voices Lost

(ARC Note: CST assumed positions on 4/1/01; has not passed any of the required ordeals. CC has passed (? see below) Ordeal of the Tome, and Chapters, and submitted Narration. Additionally, Chapter is below minimum membership requirements for the second month in a row.)

Chapter currently has nine (9) members; no pending, new or transferals.

Ordeal Graduates: Matt says he "had to retake the ordeal of chapters. I found out that the person Chuck Childers did not like the answer to the last question. I said that I would ignore the comment. My perspective is that I know the members of the chapter and they would say such things as a joke. I will make an effort to be even more professional. I also passed Laws of the Tome and sent in Tome of Narration. I sent the Narration Via email and I have not heard anything one way or another. I paid for all the tomes and ICC registration at the same time, so there might be a mix up somewhere."

(sic)

(ARC Note: In the membership list section of Matt's report, he has himself down as passing the first three Ordeals. This seems to be contrary to what is said above.) One (1) member recommended for more than 100 Prestige points. One (1) member recommended for Regional Prestige. Two (2) members recommended for National Prestige.

Last chapter meeting was October 17; next chapter meeting November 14.

Current Projects: CC is working on a yearbook/Memory Book; he does not expect to be receiving too much help from his chapter as they are all very busy.

Comments: "I just got suspended for 2 days. I like to try new things so I really enjoyed the experience. I worked out the problem with the help of the new ARST of Arbitration, many thanks to Sean Jackson. Basically multiple had personality conflicts and were accusing Rick Munden of Meta Gaming. Rick did not Meta Game. Every thing else had to do with trivial things."

Problems, Suggestions, Questions: "I just had my most enjoyable game in months last Saturday. I hope that our chapter can keep it up. I hope that I can get an email if I did some thing sub-standard."

CA-Pending: House of the Mountain Glen [Report late:

11/4/01]

This is a new Chapter. Chapter has two (2) pending members; ten (10) transferred members into the Chapter. Last Chapter meeting: October 12; next Chapter meeting date not in report.

Current projects: Try to get more members to join the Chapter.

No other problems, suggestions, questions or comments were in the report.

CA-Pending: In the Shadows of a Saint

(ARC note: CST assumed position on May; report shows he has passed Ordeal of Chapters, but not Tome or Narration.) Chapter currently has 21 members; seven (7) pending members. Two (2) members nominated for National Prestige. Chapter treasury contains $2 dollars. Last Chapter meeting September 29; next Chapter meeting tentatively scheduled for November 15.

Comments: CC is requesting Prestige records for Katie Hunt (9908-003).

No problems/suggestions/questions in the report.

CA-Pending: Twilight Cathedral

Chapter has 42 members, 15 new members, and 18 pending members. Three (3) members nominated for over 100 Prestige Points; one (1) member nominated for National Prestige. Chapter Treasury contains $153.00 dollars.

Last chapter meeting was October 6; next meeting TBA.

Chapter has elected a new CST, Mike Houston.

Volunteers are still needed

to fill needed positions in the Chapter storytelling staff. Members have been encouraged to familiarize themselves with the 5.1 version of the rules supplements.

Members have been reminded the National Blood Drive is still in effect until October 25; CC has expressed his disappointment at the "lack of enthusiasm" the Chapter has been exhibiting relative to charitable efforts.

Current Projects: "Social Movie Friday" and "Social Movie Saturday" where members meet at a local restaurant and then go to a movie or attend a concert. Chapter is also making an effort to gather 'round the television to watch "Star Trek: Enterprise," "Buffy," "WWF," "Dark Angel" and "Charmed," giving them even more reasons to "get together and do things outside of game."

Chapter is hoping to hold successful food drives for the Salvation Army and the homeless shelter.

Chapter is working with Chateau Gaumont and Dark Tower to host a Grand Sabbat Event in Modesto on December 1. They are also hoping to use this event to gather toys for Toys 4 Tots.

Comments: Prestige listings contain several backdated items that were either not reported on time, or earned prior to the Member receiving a membership number.

Problems:

1) Relative to the issue of the possible-chapter formation: "Anna resigned at the end of the September. Whether by direct result or by coincidence, the splinter group seems to have disintegrated. Several formerly combative separatists (their word, not mine!) have begun showing up to our regular games and supporting the Chapter through time or material contributions. Indeed, the problem described in last month's report seems to have dissipated completely. I'd like to think that this is due to my efforts in keeping communications open and trying to find a compromise, but at this point I am just grateful that the Chapter has moved beyond that particular argument."

2) CC reports a "serious" disciplinary action with one member over a disfavor able Prestige audit, the desanctioning of a character at ICC, and subsequent difficulties that ensued. Member was suspended for 30 days, but continued to violate his suspension by appealing to other coordinators in the region for assistance and playing his character online. This matter has been forwarded to the RC's office for further action.

////

RC Comments:

Violating a suspension should incur a heavier disciplinary action.

Contact Shawn Jackson.

////

Questions:

1) "I have a member that was charged twice for their membership and is receiving two Member #. He would like to transfer one of those numbers to another member. Can this be done? And if so how should it be handled?"

/////

RC Comments:

Contact the Mike Jackson the ARC outreach; he can help you work with the director of memberships.

/////

2) "When can we expect our Chapter packet to be sent?

I presume that the packet will include our Chapter Number?"

NEVADA:

==============

NV-004: Grand Illusion

Chapter currently has four (4) members; five (5) pending members. Two (2) members nominated for National Prestige.

Last Chapter Meeting on October 14; next Chapter Meeting on November 11.

Meeting minutes: Chapter will be working on a membership drive in Northern Nevada; flyers will be posted in bookstores, hobby shops, campuses around town and the surrounding area.

Current projects: Ordeals party/hang-out days continue. Getting members on a bi-monthly blood donation cycle. Chapter is looking at the third weekend of the month for their travel to visit other chapters in the region; as well as attending SCRE as a chapter.

Community Service: Getting everyone on a bi-monthly blood donation cycle. Annual Community Christmas tree drive in December. Collecting pop-tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald house; one (1) Prestige point for every five (5) tabs collected with a maximum of 20 Points per month.

Questions:

1. Does CC award CST prestige, or does that come from RST? Who awards prestige for the CC?

/////

RC Comments

The regional office awards prestige for CCs of independent chapters. The sw-prestige list is an excellent resource for prestige related questions.

/////

2. How to get copies of records for Steve Sutton, 9612-142?

/////

RC Comments

While the sw-prestige list 'might' be able to help, the responsibility of maintaining prestige logs falls upon the member. The member's supervising coordinator is also supposed to maintain a record as well, but the member is the party primarily responsible.

It may be possible to recreate the log by backtracking old reports but such a task is time consuming and not priority for officers. They may very well assist but it should not be assumed that they are under any time constraint to render results.

/////

No other problems/comments included in the report.

NV-005: Vegas Stakes [Report late: 11/2/01] Chapter currently has 24 members. Chapter treasury contains $224 dollars.

Last Chapter meeting October 28; next Chapter meeting November 11.

Two (2) members earned 100 (or more) Prestige this month. One (1) member passed an Ordeal this month.

Current Projects: Ronald McDonald House and Nevada Liver Foundation charities continue. Chapter will be adding Sabbat and Garou Venues to their events.

Comments: Three members got married this month: Lance Sperry, Natalie Heath and Dave Byers.

Problems:

1) "I'm still missing my membership card. I noticed that in the mycamarilla database that it lists me as 'Packet Sent 02/18/01' which can't be because I wasn't a member of the camarilla until 5/18/01"

2) Natalie Heath submitted her renewal by the E-Store, but it has not posted yet. A copy of her order confirmation is included in the report.

3) CC still needs coordinator access to his Chapter in the MyCamarilla database.

/////

RC Comments

Mike Jackson can assist with advocating to the Director of memberships.

Sean Alexander should be able to facilitate CamDB access.

I have spoken with Jim already and have let him know which chapters have been approved, turned down or still considered pending while we observe their track record.

/////

Questions: When will chapter get their Chapter number?

CC reports he received a letter from Jim Blaylock indicating that Jim was waiting for RC approval or input.

No other comments in the report.

NV-Pending: Dark Glittering Knights [Report late, 11/2/01] (ARC Note: CC assumed position on July 28; is pending Ordeal of Chapters.)

Chapter has 17 members, two (2) new members, one (1) pending member, and two (2) members transferred out. Chapter Treasury contains $21.00 dollars.

Last Chapter meeting was October 26; next Chapter meeting TBA.

Three members are pending MC approval: Rose Sylvia

(2001-07-133) and

Shane Sylvia (9810-067) to MC2; Tim Holmes (9903-110) to MC7.

General items of interest from meeting included: game schedule; chapter Web site; TAMU lists; use of local chapter and domain lists; venue games hosted by Vegas Stakes; Prestige rules and Prestige Logs; MyCamarilla system; Requiem; Chapter number and possible Domain formation; voting for chapter officers; game rules and rulings; character creation at games; props and appropriate use of props; current storylines and history of LV in game; and discussion of Ordeals.

Current projects include the pop-tabs for Ronald McDonald House. Chapter will charge a site fee of $2.00 dollars when they have to pay for a place to hold their games; otherwise, there will be no fee.

Problems:

1. Chapter is concerned that they still do not have their chapter number.  CC received a confirmation on 10/22/01 of application being received at the Camarilla PO Box. Sister Chapter (Vegas Stakes) has received their number; Domain application is pending DGK getting their number. "When we receive our number, will we still have to go through a probation period? We have been turning in reports since March and are in the green. Could someone let me know? Thank you."

2. Membership services has been contacted about one "lost" member, one member who has not received his membership card, and one other who has not received a membership number.

3. Disciplinary Actions: Holmes, 9903-110 returns from suspension as of 2001-10-07.

4. CC needs coordinator access to Chapter records on MyCamarilla.

No other comments/suggestions in the report.

(ARC Note: One prestige item for Dawn Culilngs was related to September

11 tragedy. Per National policy, shouldn't this be eligible for National Prestige?)

UTAH:

==============

UTD-02: Mountain Shadows

(ARC note: DST submitted all required Ordeals; still waiting on response from Chapters/Narration.) Domain has three (3) Chapters comprised of 59 members total with eight (8) pending members; two (2) members transferred out of the Domain. Megan Ahrendes (CC: House of the Forsaken) and Art Hansen (CC: Rising Sun) are both pending MC approvals from the DC.

Domain Treasury contains $1,815.57.

Last Domain meeting October 30; next Domain meeting November 27.

Problems: "*Still waiting for a response on this one* = Prestige recommendations for DST. To date I have received none.

Should I just award her what I think it should be, or should I wait for Pete's recommendation?

How about this one - If I don't hear back from this report, I'll just award her what I think she deserves. ;) 10/01 addition = since I didn't hear back I'm awarding Erin Ruston the prestige that I think she deserves in this report. Sorry about all the backdating." (sic)

/////

RC Comments

DST prestige comes from the DC based on RST recommendation.  WE should hear from the RST but I understand your position.

/////

UT-002: Crimson Sentinel [Report late: 11/2/01] Chapter has 16 members; two (2) members transferred into the Chapter, and five (5) members are pending.

Last Chapter meeting on October 8; next Chapter meeting on November 5.

Current projects: "Halloween Party ran into a few snags and I had to directly intervene with only 3 days left and no site chosen and with members of the planning group fussing among themselves. I may have stepped on a few toes but the party went off with as few snags as possible."

Comments: "In the last report, I indicated my assistant had difficulty trying to organize a charity event along with the Domain Coordinator, choosing not to put the event in her day planner.

After looking into the matter further and speaking with the Mountain Shadows Domain DC, I feel that I may owe her an apology for not first speaking to her first and for speaking about the subject in a open rather than a private Forum. I have already may a direct apology and have indicated I will apologize on this report publicly as well.  "Having problems contacting some long standing members of the chapter for meetings and other purposes. I will continue to try to contact them but for paperwork purposes and because they have allowed their memberships to lapse for so long with me not knowing their intentions, I am no longer listing them on the Chapter membership."

No other problems/questions/suggestions/comments

Included in the report.

UT-004: Rising Sun

Chapter has 19 members; two (2) transferred members.

Two (2) members nominated for National Prestige.

Last Chapter meeting October 29; next Chapter meeting November 27.

CC is pending Prestige Audit for advancement to MC 5.

Current projects: Toy Drive in November and December; two movie nights and a "spontaneous" blood drive. Food drive in January.

Continued work on Prestige Audits; CC is trying to get individual members to track their own Prestige.

Problems: CST, Brian Cartwright has been "temporarily" suspended for 15 days due to non-compliance with the Ordeals requirements of his position.

If he has not submitted his Ordeals after that time, the Chapter will be voting on a new CST. ACST has stepped up to assume duties during CSTs suspension.

No other suggestions/concerns in the report.

UT-008: Velvet Glove [Report late, 11/4/01] (ARC Note: CST assumed post 01/01; has not passed any of the required ordeals yet.) Chapter has 26 members. One (1) member nominated for Regional Prestige.  One (1) member nominated for 100 Prestige points.

Last Chapter meeting October 30; next Chapter meeting November 19.

Current projects: Lazer Quest social event in November; Toys for Tots drive and a board game night in December; and a Masquerade Changeling Ball in January.

Problems: "I had to disallow the prestige logs of Steve Fisher (9506-103).  There were too many discrepancies and no way to verify any of it with his old CC, DC, or RC. We are attempting to work out something  fair later this month."

No other questions/concerns/comments in the report.

UT-Pending: House of the Forsaken [Report late, 11/2/01] (ARC Note: CC assumed position June 10; has only completed Ordeal of the Tome. CST assumed position June 10; has not completed any of the required ordeals.)

(ARC Note: Chapter report did not post to SW-Reports; was received personally. Report appears to be in HTML form, which would explain it not posting to the Tamu list.) Chapter has eleven (11) members; one (1) transferred member, three (3) Pending members. One (1) member recommended for National Prestige.

Last Chapter meeting October 18; next Chapter meeting November 26.

Current Projects: Sponsoring a "Sub-for-Santa" family in November and December; attempting to secure Web Domain space and hosting capabilities for chapter and other's use.  Chapter is still awaiting their Chapter number.

No other problems/questions/concerns/comments in the report.

3. OUTSTANDING ISSUES

None that I am aware of at this time.

4. CURRENT ISSUES

1. it’s been a rough month for me personally. I've been having problems with my health the last few weeks and I'm finding it difficult to respond to things as quickly as I like lately, my apologies.

2. I've got some personal issues with the RST staff relative to the approvals process at this time that is affecting my overall morale at the moment.

/////

RC Comments:

Be certain that you keep your office as ARC separate from your dealings as a member with the RST staff.

My general advice is to maintain calm and perspective.

/////

3. Sometimes, being the only member of the RC staff in Utah is a little tough; I feel a bit isolated and lonely out here at times, and that has been contributing to my low morale as well. It's no one's fault, really, and I'm sure I'll bounce back, but it would be nice to have someone to talk to face-to-face sometimes if you know what I mean.

/////

RC Comments

I do want you to know that your services have been invaluable.

/////

5. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

I am still concerned about the TAMU list situation (which I have discussed before). Some of the coordinators' reports did not make it to the lists, and had they not been CC'ed to me directly, they would not have been received at all.

6. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

1. How will the rollout of MyCamarilla affect the functioning of this office? Will Chapters begin filing there reports there? Will I have some kind of super-report to run from the database that will get all the "demographic" (name, address, Prestige, etc.) data from the Chapters?

/////

RC Comments

In truth, I'm unsure.

/////

2. Despite everything I mentioned in Section 4, I really do enjoy this job and the ability it gives me to read all the reports from the Region. I feel a bit more "plugged in" to what's going on as a result, which is really nice as I can't get away to hit weekend events out-of-town.

1. SUMMARY

2. OUTSTANDING ISSUES

3. CURRENT ISSUES

4. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

5. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

6. INDEPENDENT REPORT

1. SUMMARY

Lively month this month, There seems to be a trickle of new Independent members coming through to my offices. In addition I’ve got a number of other little projects and issues to look into this month, most of which are still pending. ICC was a blast; I was the Token ARC at the Regional meeting till Matty came in later.

We successfully repelled the rather loud contingent from South Central meeting. North Central (I believe) Brought Food and Cake so they we're allowed to stay.

I forwarded a list of those attending the meeting via Matty for Shannon's Perusal.

2. OUTSTANDING ISSUES

Just was handed the issue on Sepulcher and the BMK domain. I am currently investigating and looking into the matter will have more on issue in next report and working with ARC Arbitration on the matter.

3. CURRENT PROJECTS

1. I have been currently working on getting the various CCs and CSTs of the Region up to date on their required ordeals. I sent out a complimentary letter to those whom we're not in compliance reminding them and quoting the tome on the matter. Quite a few had sent them in or we're waiting to hear back about them. For those outstanding I put in an inquiry into Scotty McQ (thank you Scotty) who was very kind enough to look into the matter. At this point in time these are still pending; an updated list of those whom still are not in compliance will be submitted next month.

II. Looking into Domain development I’ve been in contact with a number of chapters in the Region including the San Diego Chapters and some of the Chapters in Utah which are forming domains.

Both of these look very promising to get these long overdue areas developed (especially San Diego)

III. This month ill be opening up correspondence with the various Chapter coordinators of the Independent chapters to check up on them and see how they are doing. Kind of give each of them some one on one attention to whatever challenges concerns or needs they may have. I tend to see a lot of chapters having communication problems amongst themselves, hopefully we can see about doing something about that.

4. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

I've been problem free for the most part. Nothing comes to mind at this time.

Though I’ve got the strangest feeling like I’ve forgotten something in this report: P

5. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

Umm do I need access to prestige Review in the Mycam.org Database for those independent members I have or is that a function of the Prestige reviewers? Or is that function even what I think it is. I'm still learning the system, will get it down eventually.

Shannon would you like the below part of the Report posted on the Reporting list like a Regular chapter report or is it just fine how I’ve been doing it?

Summary

Starting to use to use the Mycam.org for the new members. Look like a great tool for stuff when they actually get it working.

Looks very promising in implementation. Will be a chore for most coordinators to enter in this. But that’s what assistants are for I suppose.

October Report

Due: 11/12/01

ADMINISTRATION-

ICC wind-down has made this a slow month. There are a few projects up in the air, however.

1) In an effort to foster a bit more cohesion (and due to a big pile of free time) I sat down and compiled a list of every Southwest member at MC6 or higher, broken down by MC, Chapter, and Cam-number. This was at first a simple superfluous exercise in mindless logistics. After a while, however, it occurred to me that the list might be useful, if difficult to maintain.

I plan on getting together with the other ARC's and seeing if the information can't be converted into an appropriate database somewhere. At the very least maintaining accurate records of the higher MC's should be a benefit to both raveling players and sitting storytellers alike. I'm hoping to finally get around to printing up MC Cards for members at MC9 or higher, as suggested in the Tome.

2) My Camarilla is up and seems very versatile. For a long time now I have collected every report to come across my desk, and saved the entire lot. This means I have, literally, three years of back Chapter reports for the Region, though the collection is by no means complete.

If the Report hit any of the salient lists, I got it.

There was a great deal of reporting directly to the RC, however, so many never found the list. I'll be publishing a list of what I actually have, and asking members of the region who themselves saved reports to help fill in the chinks in my collection.

This can then be converted to a searchable database for Coords, useful especially in tracking down back-awards and prestige audits. When you have the actual report to refer to over a questionable reward, it cuts through some of the confusion.

3) I'll be working with Wendy Rutherford to develop means of tracking, dispersing, and recouping the regional funds that have been accruing. Prospectively these funds can be used to help fund large-scale local or Regional events, with the investment being returned from the proceeds. In order to do this we'll have to put together some consistent, efficient policies in terms of how the money is lent, transferred, and returned, as well as coming up with a system which allows for growth of the funds.

It should be interesting to say the least.

Miscellaneous- Everything else is really a matter of internal Staff issues, such as setting up meetings or answering general questions. I am going to try to circulate more amongst Chapters, especially new Chapters, and see if I can't set up a sort of question-and-answer session for newer players. I've often found that some of the information and policies we take for granted due to familiarity are simply foreign to the folks who haven’t read the stuff a million times.

LIST MODERATION- SW-Coord and SW-Reports

The list has been relatively active. A few oddities are occurring, including the forwarding of bounced messages to the former RC (I fixed the config file, hopefully doing away with this) and the phenomenon of double-messages to which all the Tamu lists was subjected.

I received four new requests for subscription with the following information:

Name Joshua Friedman

Cam-Number 2000-02-084

Chapter/Domain Kokopeli's Dream AZ008

Position Held Chapter Coordinator

Subscribed: 10/26/01

Name Amber Coates

Cam-Number Pending

Chapter/Domain House of the Mountain Glen Position Held Chapter Coordinator

Subscribed: 10/28/01

Name: H. Monique Gilbert

Cam-Number: 2000-08-191

Chapter/Domain: Moustique Noir

Position Held: Chapter Coordinator

Subscribed: 11/1/01

I unsubscribed the following addresses which were bouncing:

Barbara Mertz <theheretik@earthlink.net>

<ccjoss7@yahoo.com>

<Beardedtoyman@msn.com>

<chymerah@yahoo.com>

I plan on doing a list purge this month, since it seems clear that CC's who step down have not taken the time to unsubscribe themselves, historically. I'll send out a simple email requesting information such as that above, and unsubscribe anyone who did not reply after a given period.

I would ask that all current CC's remember to please unsubscribe from the appropriate lists after your services are concluded.

This is my first report, so I consider it a bit rough.

Hopefully they'll be more polished in time. :)

ARC Publications:

This is gonna be brief, 'cause there's not too much to report on.

PAST

Since the last issue I've contacted the general membership as well as specific persons relative to their specific attentions to event specific projects and to their regular positions as CC/CST or DC/DST about contributing to the next issue of Eternal Times.

Attended the ICC and have received ample submissions since then.

Also I've created a new e-mail address for Eternal Times so that larger files can be sent, also procured online storage space to keep past communication and submissions...just in case.

CURRENT

Compiling the submissions and pouring through photos of the ICC to include, also setting up a back-drop onto which the meat of the next issue will be added. Intending to get the next issue out by the 15th of this month, foresee possible delay by a few days if all does not go well (last minute glitches are known to happen).

FUTURE

Will continue to reach possible supporters of the newsletter and receive from them submissions for the Spring 2002 issue. Will look further into such items as regional bumper stickers/window decals, T-shirts, etc. to coincide with a final determination of a regional logo, working with the RC team and others to make that all happen, hopefully well enough in time for the SWRE.

After some careful consideration I have decided to dissolve the ARC Outreach position. I have realized that it is not serving the purpose I had hoped it would. I have already advised Jana of my discussion and have removed her email from SWRC Staff list.

The Prestige ARC Report is not in yet. Aaron Morgan had some real life craziness happen, and it's far more than excusable for him to be a bit late. When he gets his report in and we discuss prestige, the SW Site will have an updated Prestige award listing.

All of the ARCs have kicked lots of butt this month.

Dave Barry may have claimed that there was not much to report but I am keenly aware that he's been putting in lots of work on graphic projects involving the Regional Sigil, fund raising ideas, etc. Kimiko may have officially stepped down as ARC Web/Communications; she still has been performing the invaluable services that position entails. Sean Alexander has been making tremendous strides in helping to bring order to chaos and facilitate the streamlining of various resources and records.  Shawn Jackson has been dedicating hours upon  hours daily to the needs of his office. Aaron and Sarah have been slogging through several reviews and handling a high volume of questions while being constantly hounded by members who have no clue how busy and frazzled the two of them are. Wendy has been busy promoting Events buds and mentoring prospective bidders who often take her assistance for granted.  Mike has been performing a number of unpopular takes for me and has been taking on projects well outside of his job description. Peter has again preformed the Herculean task of concerning the numerous reports I need to review while juggling an assortment of other difficulties.  So I know that ever last one of the ARCs have been working overtime this month. This team is a collection of truly talented, dedicated and worthy folks. The Region and I owe a considerable amount to each of them for making the system work.  With out them, we'd be in a world of hurt.

It is to these fine individuals that I must first offer up my apologies to, for I have made the decision to resign as RC.

I have my reasons, I could post a long and windy diatribe concerning them, but I won't. It wouldn't be appropriate or constructive. Instead I will simply say that I cannot commit the time and effort required to do this job justice without adversely affecting other areas of my life that must take precedence.

I apologize to the Region for the timing of my decision. I can only say that there is an extremely competent SWRC team in place that know their business well enough to do the job whether I am here or not.  I will remain in office until my next report or until a new RC is selected (which ever comes first). After that if no RC has been selected, I would endorse Shawn Jackson to carry on in the interim in my place.

I apologize to the future NC and the current acting NC for the added headache this transition will incur. I apologize to the President and the Board of directors as well. All of these officers have showed me a high degree of courtesy, cooperation and support in my brief career as RC. I have been struggling to maintain my commitment to this post however I have reached a point where I can no longer continue and maintain the level of well being that the rest of my life requires.

Yes that's vague, but I'm attempting to be PC here. ;)

Section: Comments and Concerns

In regards to, the blood donations and charity work in reference to the September 11th crisis, folks would still like to know what the best, easiest and most reliable way is to present their time/donations for National prestige.

I am still recommending to Coordinators in the SW to keep a separate record of such donations that occur between Sept 11th and October 25th so it may be presented to the NC as a condensed and separate log.

I'd like to hear from the NC to know what would be the most efficient and convenient method of presentation for him.
