Overview of Chapter and Domain Reports

ARIZONA:

AZ-004: Nightshift [Report late: 12/04/01]

Chapter has 37 members. Three (3) members recommended for over 100 Prestige. Four (4) members nominated for National Prestige.

Four (4) members, Garret Hyde (to MC 6), Ben Wintersteen (to MC 7), Ron Dyer and Jeremy White (to MC 4) earned MC advancement this month.

Last Chapter meeting December 6; next chapter meeting first Thursday in January.

Current Projects: Ongoing food and clothing drives continue for the foreseeable future. The Chapter participated in the Christmas Angel program and was able to help six needy children get items they requested.

Problems/Questions/Suggestions:

(ARC Note: This question remains from last month.) 1) "I put forth a question about monetary donations to charity organizations a few months back, what was the response if any? I believe that Shannon was looking into it with the NC."

**********RC Note: Please send me what your original question was**********

2) ACC Prestige is stepping down soon; the search for a replacement has shown little interest.

3) CC may be stepping down soon due to work. Most likely it will not happen until early to late February. Efforts will be made to train a replacement.

AZ-005: Tithe of Souls

(ARC Note: Chapter will have new CC and CST in January.)

Chapter has 28 members; three (3) transferred members, and one member, Sean Lacy, has left the Camarilla.

Last Chapter meeting December 16; next Chapter meeting January 20.

One member (Lisa Scoop) passed the Ordeal of Narration, and is nominated for over 100 Prestige.

Chapter treasury contains approximately $400.00 dollars.

Current projects: Clothing drive, a canned food drive, and manning the Christmas Angel booth (with Night Shift) for the Salvation Army.

Problems: CC is retiring this month; Charles Hopkins will be assuming the CC post. Brian Fields will be the new CST.

Questions: Please e-mail bearmoon@hotmail.com with information as to who is responsible for independent members.

**********RC Note: Mike Jackson is responsible for Independent members in the SW. he can be reached at outreach@camarilla-sw.org **********

No other Suggestions/Concerns/Comments in the report.

AZ-008: Kokopelli's Dream [Reports late: Oct/Nov rec'd 12/15/01]

October

(ARC Note: CC has held position since 9/30/01; CST since 2/1/01. Neither have passed any of the required Ordeals.)

Chapter has ten (10) members; two (2) transferred members and two (2) pending members.

Last Chapter meeting August 19; next Chapter meeting November 11.

Chapter will be choosing a new CC at their next meeting.

Current projects include a new Chapter Website as well as the Chapter reorganization.

No other Problems/Suggestions/Questions/Comments in the report.

November

(ARC Note: CST has held position since 2/1/01; has not passed any of the required Ordeals, though the report notes they were submitted twice without response and will be resubmitting them within days of this report.)

Chapter has ten (10) members; three (3) pending members.

Last Chapter meeting November 11; next Chapter meeting December 16.

Chapter elected a new CC and discussed Chapter organization, charity and social events.

Current projects: Updating old Chapter records (prestige & membership listings); an Ordeals social, and discussion of possible charity activities.

Comments: "I came into office and was given outdated prestige logs that require work, and several chapter members claiming that the former CC gave no instruction as to how to keep a log. It is my plan to rectify this situation, and further assist in allowing the chapter members to gain more enjoyment out of the club."

No other Problems/Suggestions/Questions in the report.

December

(ARC Note: CST has held position since 2/1/01; has not passed any of the required Ordeals, though the report notes they were submitted twice without response. "Lack of funds" prevented them from being resubmitted in December; it is hoped they will be done by next month.)

Chapter has ten (11) members; four (4) pending members, two (2) transferals. One (1) member recommended for National Prestige.

Last Chapter meeting November 11; next Chapter meeting January 27.

Chapter elected a new CC and discussed Chapter organization, charity and social events.

Current projects: Continued work toward charity events (Red Cross and shelters are being considered). "Continued effort to organize the chapter into a healthy, productive aspect of the Camarilla;" chapter socials and an Ordeals Workshop are upcoming in January and February.

Comments: Pending members are either waiting for funds to purchase memberships or waiting for their membership numbers to come back. New potential members have come to two games and will be joining the club with the CCs assistance in January. Work on the organization "and the like" is "slow going, but going."

Problems: "One minor issue with Daniel Byrd taking issue with scheduling miscommunication. The 24 hour rule was invoked and the final decision was that, as of next month, he will become a member of a Tucson chapter as he recently moved."

Questions: A query has been sent for info on the MyCam database via camstuff@camarilla.org. Is "that the proper authority to ensure that I have CC clearance, or, as I have no DC, do I take it to RC?"

**********RC Note: Yes, it goes to me…send me an email at rc@camarilla-sw.org with your name and cam #, and why you are sending it to me, and I’ll set it up**********

No other Suggestions/Concerns in the report.

AZ-009: Misterio Vista

Chapter has 11 members; four (4) pending members. One (1) member nominated for over 100 Prestige. Two (2) members nominated for Regional Prestige, and two (2) members nominated for National Prestige. One (1) member, Sarah Despars, is pending advancement to MC4. Chapter treasury contains $6.76 dollars.

Last Chapter meeting October 28; next Chapter meeting TBD.

Current projects: a can-recycling project.

Comments: "We have two members who wish to transfer to LOP however they haven’t done anything to even begin to TRY and transfer on our end."

No other Problems/Questions/Suggestions in the report.

CALIFORNIA:

CAD-003: Domain of Myst

Domain comprised of two (2) Chapters with 25 members. Two (2) members recommended for Regional Prestige. One member, Tim Brown (9610-027) is pending approval for MC9.

Last open Domain meeting September 29; next open Domain meeting TBD. Last Chapter Council meeting December 15; next Chapter Council meeting January 9.

Highlights from meeting minutes:

1) Recruitment: Domain will be hosting a LARP at DunDraCon in February; Monsters Under the Bed will be participating as well. Recruitment efforts will also be made via local Internet lists and discussion groups, and new posters are in production for distribution to local gaming store.

2) Domain funds: "The Domain is currently owed a total of $429.00 ($180.00 from the former DC Ronni Eloff and $249.00 from former DC Kimmi Albee) I have contacted both members to get an update on repayment of funds. I sent an email to Ronni in December and received no reply. (See notes in Questions Section) I spoke in person with Kimmi, and she explained that she does have a cashier’s check in her possession from Harold Hulbert, but because of her recent move, she has lost track of it. I am going to give her one month to get things situated, so that she can find the check and submit it to the Domain." A bank account will be established once the funds are obtained.

3) Prestige: Members will be responsible for tracking/recording their own Prestige; DC will not be responsible for records which cannot be substantiated.

4) Communication: Chapters have agreed that "official" communication between chapters needs to take place through the proper elected officers in order to reduce rumors and misunderstandings. Individual members are encouraged to interact, however, administrative communication needs to run through the proper channels.

5) Role of the DC: DC acts as the voice of the Coordinator's Council, and facilitates implementation and administration of their decisions based on the material provided to the DC by the CCs. DC will not take on projects that the Council has not voted on or agreed to implement.

Comments: "After a few challenging months at the end of 2001, the Domain of Myst is looking to the future with renewed hope. The Coordinator’s Council is working to set a list of priorities for the New Year. So far, recruitment ranks at the top of this list, and the council has taken steps to begin a recruitment drive on multiple fronts. I am working to familiarize myself with the office of DC and the duties therein. I have put out the request for any who wish to serve as ADC, but I have received little response. I am also waiting for the new RC to establish a line of communication for the Domain level staff."

Chapter Concerns:

1) "[Pharos Myst] is working on handling some internal issues with the former Regional administration, and they have begun to establish an infrastructure for helping support the club on the domain level. I have been working with Rowan Cota, Adam Phelps, and Tim Brown who have all been very helpful and cooperative."

2) "[The Dragon's Coils] is preparing to enter into a strong recruitment drive. It will be loosing members this coming year to non-related Cam issues, and the chapter is looking to rebuild its numbers. The current CC, David Weitz, is looking to name a new Lead ACC within a few days. I resigned from the position after accepting the role as DC."

Problems:

1) Domain Funds: "I have made an attempt to contact Ronnie Eloff about the $180.00 of domain funds listed in her November report, but she has not responded to my email. Who on the Regional level might be able to help track down the location of these funds, so that I can make sure they are returned to the domain? I’m sure this is just a communication issue, but as DC, I feel that I have an obligation to ensure that the money is accounted for and placed in the domain treasury."

2) "While I have heard a new RC has been appointed, I have not seen any official announcement. I would like to know whom I should be contacting on the regional level. Also I would like to know which lists I need to subscribe to in order to maintain the proper lines of communication. Adam Phelps also has issues concerning his chapter that he needs addressed at the regional level and is waiting for the correct contact person."

(ARC Note: The official announcement of the new RC went out to the SW-Region list on Friday, December 28, 2001 at 11:44 am. As for contacting people on the Regional Staff, a page on the SW Regional Website lists the current staff and their contact e-mail addresses: http://www.camarilla-sw.org/swr.html)

**********RC Note: there are 2 lists which all the CC’s and DC’s in the region should on, sw-coord and sw-reports, both of which are on the camarilla.superb.net server. I would also highly recommend being on coordinators and sw-region, which are also on the camarilla.superb.net server. **********

No other Suggestions/Concerns included in the report.

CAD-004: Black Magic Kingdom

(ARC Note: There is no mention of when Domain Officers assumed their posts, or what (if any) of the required Ordeals they have passed.)

Domain comprised of four (4) Chapters. One (1) member, Ryan Hutchison (9811-011), has qualified for advancement to MC6. Three (3) members nominated for over 100 Prestige; one (1) member nominated for Regional Prestige, "a lot" of people nominated for National Prestige due to ICC.

Domain meeting dates not included in the report.

Comments: DC & DST will be holding a joint CC/CST meeting this month once they can coordinate schedules.

Problems: Rob Snow appears on MyCamarilla DB as an expired membership; however, DC knows he has renewed.

No other Questions/Suggestions included in the report.

CAD-006: Los Angeles Domain

(ARC Note: DST assumed position in May 2001; all ordeals are currently pending, having been turned in at ICC.)

Domain comprised of six (6) Chapters; total of 95 members. No report received from Legends & Dreams (again) and Phoenix House.

Last Domain meeting November 7; next Domain meeting tentatively scheduled for January 20.

The following members qualify for MC advancement: Adam Ness (9701-061) and Erin Blankenship (9809-092) to MC 7; John Blankenship (9705-021) and Christopher Williams (9608-034) to MC 10; Kyle Humfeld (9604-230) to MC 11 & 12.

Projects:

1) Domain is participating in the Winter Court event (January 19) being staged by Sunset Strip; Domain is supporting via monetary backing and publicity.

2) Organizing and scheduling domain & chapter fund-raising; the "dollar a game" policy has been reinstituted, and Chapters are also now assessing monthly dues.

3) Chapter/Domain socials are on hold in favor of an "exodus of participation" to attend Arizona Chapters' games. DC notes Arizona players have "devotedly supported our games," and they wish to reciprocate in January or February.

4) DC is working with DC of Black Magic Kingdom to create a cross-Domain joint social and game/event. The feedback has been encouraging so far.

5) Membership drive campaign: "Bring a Friend" discount program toward game fees wherein members are given game vouchers good for a specific amount of "game dues" when they bring someone to a game who has not attended in the last 12 months. A possible raffle is also being considered, where the existing member would be given one ticket for each new person they bring; "should that person come three times then that is worth five (5) tickets, and should that person become a member in good-standing that person gains ten (10) tickets towards the raffle of an item." Drawing would be held on a seasonal, monthly or bi-monthly basis. Items to vary.

6) Creation of a "new and improved" Domain Web site. A Domain name, www.d-losangeles.org, has been selected and they are working on obtaining the Domain name. Two ADCs will be working on the site itself.

5) Filling vacant ADC positions.

Problems:

1) "I must unfortunately continue my reporting of Legends & Dreams Chapter's inability or unwillingness to make anything resembling a coordinated effort toward Domain unity. I have repeatedly attempted and informed (as best I could) the members of said chapter with contact information and knowledge that I am willing and interested in communicating with them. I have informed the single member that has made himself, occasionally, available that I would be interested in attending Chapter meetings and that I would be interested in hearing from all the members of the chapter to see what the interest of the membership is towards unification, separation, and/or reconciliation. This has led to little or no progress towards getting the 'L&D Situation' resolved and dealt with. I am still interested in a pleasant mutually beneficial settlement, but as they say it takes two to tango. Any advice would be welcome."

2) "Awaiting verification of Shanti Ellis, Anathema's CC, passing her ordeal of chapters"

3) "Awaiting the arrival of Sheldon Morley's Membership # and Cam Card, his information was supposedly sent in a group membership with Sean Caster Membership #: 2001-09-088 Expiration: 9/30/2002, but has yet to be seen. Please Advise."

Questions:

1) "The Main Camarilla Website, seems to be highly out of date with the chapter information for the US, is this being addressed?"

No other Suggestions/Comments included in the report.

CA-003: Phoenix House [Report late, 1/10/02]

(ARC Note: No date of position assumption is included for CC or CST. CST has only passed the Ordeal of the Tome.)

Chapter has 11 members. Three (3) members are pending MC advancement: Kyle Humfeld (9604-230) to MC12, Flor San Roman (9705-107) to MC7, and Tim Crall (9706-010) to MC10.

Chapter meeting dates not noted in report.

Current Projects: CC has been working on cleaning up the Chapter information in the MyCamarilla database; has "cleared out most of the people who don't belong, but have left the orange-shaded expired folks there for now." Is "looking forward to when it can handle Prestige records (not to mention character records)."

Questions: CC would like a status update on the MC advancements from the DC and where applicable, the RC.

**********RC Note: Due to the vacancy of the ARC Prestige position, audits on a regional level are currently on hold, though I will be trying to make some time to work on the reviews currently submitted to the regional level.*********

No other Problems/Suggestions/Comments in the report.

CA-013: Pharos Myst

(ARC Note: CST assumed position in October; has not passed Ordeal of Narration.)

Chapter has 14 members; one (1) pending member. Tim Brown is pending MC9 approval. Two (2) members nominated for National Prestige.

Last Chapter meeting December 15; next Chapter meeting date not in report.

Current Projects: Recruitment drive: materials were printed and distributed, but there has been little response. Future efforts will include "posting to local gaming lists, tables and demo LARPs at Bay Area cons, etc."

No other Problems/Questions/Comments/Suggestions in the report.

CA-015: Anathema

(ARC Note: CC has passed the Ordeal of Chapters, but has not heard about Ordeal of the Tome yet.)

Chapter has 20 members. Four (4) members are awaiting MC Approvals: Adam Ness (9701-061) and Erin Blankenship (9809-092) from MC6 to MC7, and Chris Williams (9608-034) and John Blankenship (9705-021) from MC9 to MC10.

Last Chapter meeting was November 3; next Chapter meeting is January 5.

Kevin Millard (9809-017) is still waiting for a Prestige award for editing the Vampire 5.0 rules in November of 1999. Two other members awaiting Prestige award for submissions to Chapter newsletter.

No Problems/Questions/Concerns/Comments included in the report.

CA-016: The House of the Silver Crescent [Report late: 01/02/02]

Chapter currently has 19 members; three (3) transferals into the chapter, and three (3) pending members. Two (2) members nominated for over 100 Prestige; one (1) member nominated for Regional Prestige; four (4) members nominated for National Prestige. One member passed the Laws of Narration.

Last Chapter meeting December 16; next Chapter meeting January 11.

Highlights from meeting minutes: Chapter discussed meeting/gaming locations and fundraising ideas, coming up with possibilities for each. Chapter has also decided to focus their charity efforts on Isaiah House and the City of Hope. Chapter meetings will be held on the second Friday of every month, with a Chapter social to follow the meetings. Some changes were made to the proposed Chapter Charter, and it will be a topic of discussion next month.

Current Projects:

1) CC continues to work on getting the Chapter records straightened out (remove lapsed members from the roster or get them to renew memberships). Chapter is currently looking for indoor venues, but is being hampered by monetary concerns; a domain-wide fundraiser will be used to raise money for this.

2) Community Service: Chapter participated in volunteer work at the Isaiah House Catholic Worker Community.

3) CC will be holding more socials in order to get the "paper members" more active.

4) Games: Chapter will be focusing on Mage and Changeling venue for their games. Cam/Anarch games will be held when the players request them.

Comments: "As you can see, it is the general goal of the CC in the coming months to make HSC a stronger and more cohesive group. This is a big challenge, but one I think I can handle. On paper, HSC appears to be a very strong Chapter, with very little disagreements, and a strong Chapter Roster. In reality though, I feel we have a long way to go, and can always make things better."

Questions: "My only question is what happened with the National Prestige for the Community Service Activities for the 9-11-01 tragedy? We have still received no word as to making this National Prestige. Will it remain Open, or will we be able to make it National sometime in the coming months?"

(ARC Note: Shannon addressed this question in his November report; please review that RC report for the appropriate course of action.)

No other Suggestions in the report.

CA-017: The Bureau [Report late: 01/02/02]

(ARC Note: CC has not passed any of the required ordeals; no date of position assumption included in the report; CC notes the Ordeals will be taken next month.)

Chapter has 14 members. Daniel Luboff (9904-187) is pending MC8 review.

Last Chapter meeting December 9; next Chapter meeting December 20.

Current projects: Offering assistance with the Winter Ball.

Comments: "Next month 2 things will happen. One these reports will be to the format requested. Two I will take the tests. Leigh Priester maybe a year ago was handed the Bureau funds, she is no longer a Camarilla member. I have spoken to her on retrieving the money. Follow up on this will happen. I have received Dan Luboff past prestige records and will be able to add correct totals next month."

No other Problems/Questions/Suggestions in the report.

CA-021: Moustique Noir [Report late: 01/04/02]

(ARC Note: CST appointed in March 2001; has not passed Ordeal of Narration.)

Chapter has 43 members; five (5) new members and four (4) pending members. Three members have qualified for MC advancement: Jason Noel (2001-04-160) and Vernon Dorothy (2001-05-165) to MC2, and Aaron Bryant (2000-08-190) to MC5.

Last Chapter meeting December 19; next Chapter meeting to be held in January 30.

Highlights from meeting minutes: Meeting had low turnout due to holidays and opening of "Lord of the Rings." Rules clarifications were addressed by the CST, and the second half fo the meeting was dedicated to plans for the "Big Game," which will be discussed again at the next meeting.

Current Projects: "We are working on getting our yearly 'Big Game' back into production. Our new ACC - Charities will be presenting several charity events starting early next year. Our next Chapter Blood Drive will be Feb. 16 from 8 -1 at the local Blood Bank of the Redwoods.

"Our December "Toys for Tots" Drive had a number of logistical problems, and was eventually scrapped."

No other Problems/Questions/Comments/Concerns included in the report.

CA-022: Dark Tower

Chapter has 28 members. Chapter Treasury contains approximately $132.00 dollars.

Last Chapter meeting November 24; next Chapter meeting TBA.

Comments: "This is my last report as CC at this time. Mr. Verduzco is stepping up to the plate. I know that the chapter is in very capable hands. I know he has a lot of enthusiasm for the chapter and the organization and has some neat tricks up his sleeve"

Current Projects:

1) Games: The Chapter hosted Sabbat, Mage and Cam/Anarch; "attendance is lacking in Sabbat,

still stable in Mage, and ok in Cam/Anarch." CC reports being unable to solve the ongoing location problems, but will continue to work with Philip to solve this..

2) Charities: "Tree Fresno was an enjoying, yet crowded, experience." No charity event planned for January, but Mica will continue to work on a February event.

3) Fundraisers will begin in earnest in an effort to solve the location problem as the Chapter will have to rent sites in order to hold their games.

No other Problems/Questions/Suggestions in the report.

CA-023: Sepulchre [Report late: 01/02/02]

Chapter has 15 members. Two (2) members nominated for over 100 Prestige; one (1) member nominated for Regional Prestige; and five (5) members nominated for National Prestige. One (1) member, Anthony Fuentes, qualifies for advancement to MC5.

Last Chapter meeting September 17; next Chapter meeting January 18.

Current Projects: Chapter is still working on leaving the Black Magic Kingdom Domain; and are looking for a better game site.

Comments: "Its the "Happy Holidays" month. Low gaming, high socializing, we got through this month with a bang. Go Us.

"Trying to fix report format to make it more what the ARC reports wants....I *think* I got it. :)" (ARC Note: Well done! You’re close; very close, but keep your eyes on the list -- we're going to be making an announcement regarding reports after the 15th.)

Problems:

1) With the appointment of the new RC, Chapter is renewing its request to leave the Black Magic Kingdom Domain. "The DC had us wait 3 months before he would support it, and the 10th of Jan will be 3 months. While this time has made some members think the domain isn't all that bad, other members still firmly want to leave. We will vote again soon, so the RC has accurate info."

Questions:

1) "Can we figure out what happened to the Sep national prestige thingy? I've got members looking at nine drooling over it. :)"

(ARC Note: Shannon addressed this question in his November report; please review that RC report for the appropriate course of action.)

2) A request for Alex Mora (9705-113) to be taken from the Independent's list and placed in the Sepulchre Chapter roster.

No other Suggestions/Concerns included in the report.

CA-025: Monsters Under the Bed

(ARC Note: CC assumed position in 09/2001; notes first two Ordeals submitted.)

Chapter has 12 members; one (1) pending member, Randall Finley, removed from the roster due to inactivity and not appearing in the National Database. Three (3) members nominated for National Prestige. James Flood (9902-027) is pending approval for MC7.

Last Chapter meeting in December 8; next Chapter meeting is TBA January.

Current Projects: The Prestige audit is "almost done;" it is hoped to be finished by the end of February. The purchase of a lockbox and invoice/receipt book for Chapter funds will be re-examined at a later time; increasing attendance is a more pressing need.

Comments: "As of December 16, 2001, Shannon Quintero's membership with The Camarilla Association has been terminated. One less member to our rosters, and we're sorry to see him go.

"I have also been given a heads-up that two others of our chapter will be moving away (FAR away) in January, and that will leave our chapter at just 10 members. I would say I was worried it was something we weren't doing right... except that both of the other long-standing chapters in the Bay Area are also experiencing extreme amounts of membership attrition, and they seem to be having equal levels of difficulty in finding new members. I've discussed participating in recruitment efforts with Charlie Smith, the new DC of the Myst domain, at events like DunDraCon in the upcoming year, but past efforts, while well attended and organized, have never amounted to any actual paid memberships. Who knows? One more year might make a difference..."

"The SW Region has all new Regional-level staff again, and thank you to the National team for so quickly choosing new representation for us! I know Kevin Millard and Sarah Despars will both do their utmost to pick up where their predecessors left off, and make efforts to build upon the successes and mistakes previously experienced to further the Region. Congrats, and good luck to both of them."

(ARC Note: We're not all new, Kimmie; Sarah kept a few of us old fogies around for good measure. <G>)

"ICC Exp is out, and now, so is the majority of the prestige for the event. Yay! And thank you!"

Problems:

1) Greg Milardo (2000-02-173) is still listed as expired in the national database. Letters sent to Camstuff have gone unanswered. CC has recommended he pay for renewal again, and if/when the national office finds his previous renewal, it will just tack on an extra year.

2) "ICC Prestige: So far, three of the members of my chapter have been recognized for their efforts at helping out the success of the ICC 2001 Convention in Los Angeles. Since the website says that some of the ST reports are still being compiled and added, I will continue to wait before wondering where the names of the other members of my chapter that helped are at. I know most of them were all involved in helping to design, set-up, and decorate the Elders Salon, and as such, their prestige WOULD be in an ST report. I'm also wondering if there is any way that an inquiry as to which reports HAVE been tallied into the awards received so far could be answered- I, for one, was involved in at least three or four different events or services throughout the entire weekend, and while I'm not complaining about the totals, I want to know if what's listed is everything I signed up for, to make sure that my name got entered where appropriate. I'm also interested in making sure this is t!

he same for all my chapter's members."

Chapter has 12 members; four (4) pending and three (3) inactive.

Last Chapter meeting December 15; next Chapter meeting on the last weekend of the month or held at the Chapter game.

Comments: "My ACC Jarrod Snow experienced some problems with receiving emails from our chapter email list, so he is fixing that as we are trying to find out if anyone received his emails for prestige so the

Prestige seems a little weak this month. Events Acc has been checking prices on Events has been pricing paintball rentals for our chapter match during the first weekend of February (pushed back due to super bowl and other events)"

Current Projects: "There are some public projects in the works at this time but not much else."

New Chapter Website is under construction. Trying to get backlogs of Prestige and find someone to perform audits so logs can be sent to Domain level for pending MC approvals.

Problems: CC is having trouble getting past two months' Chapter reports in order to secure Prestige. (ARC Note: I have received only one Chapter report from CA-028 since taking office in August; I have forwarded a copy of this report to the CC.)

Comments: "I wish there were more people willing to volunteer. As noted the previous Chapter Coordinator has not made previous reports available and so the prestige totals will be amended next month once October’s report is available. For someone with a regional office in my chapter, how do I keep track of their prestige?" (ARC Note: While outside the scope of my duties, I can tell you how I do it: I forward the RC's recommendation to my CC who lists it in his next Chapter report. In addition, I track that information myself as well, as I am primarily responsible for my Prestige log.)

Comments: "So I write this report on New Year's Eve of all nights, while cleaning my house of all things for a party. Hey Life as a Coordinator Gotta Love it. Hmmm, So there's a new RC in town =). Looking forward to reading her first report."

"Don't we get a half day like everyone else? Guess not, Coordinator's job is never done. Tread into the realm of a New Name.

"Yes, my chapter shall prove once again why it has earned the name Center of Sabbat Culture."

Problems:

1) "Who do I get a hold of to transfer Denise Greene to independent. Guess I'll email Euan Walker. Ohh better yet Kimmiko she knows everything. Ahhh sigh."

**********RC Note: Read the Tome under Membership Policies: Age Requirements. “Due to the mature themes found in White Wolf games, the Camarilla does not accept minor members in the United States of America. The Camarilla cannot afford to be held legally responsible for actions of minor members at any United States Camarilla Event” –The Tome. Minors should not be attending games, and other Camarilla events, whether or not they are playing makes no difference.**********

CA-037: Twilight Cathedral

Chapter has 50 members; six (6) new members, and 10 pending members. Two (2) members recommended for 100 or more Prestige. One (1) member, Curtis Wilkins, passed the Ordeal of Chapters and Ordeal of Narration this month. Chapter Treasury contains $106.25 dollars.

One (1) member is pending MC Approval to MC2: Kim Anderson (2001-03-014). Two (2) members are pending MC3: Anthony Grant (2001-06-001), and Curtis Wilkins (2001-07-042).

Last Chapter meeting was December 16; next Chapter meeting January 5.

Highlights from meeting minutes:

1) A vote of "no confidence" was called against CST Mike Houston; after discussion from all parties, the vote passed by "a slight margin." A new CST, James Jones, was chosen at a second Chapter meeting.

2) A treasury report was made: a portion of the Chapter funds had been "stolen." While there are no suspects, the "amount and situation of the missing money was explained to the Chapter." The Chapter decided against involving local law enforcement for a number of reasons (see report). However, as a result of the theft, "much stricter cash handling and security has been instituted," with monies now being kept under a combination lock available only to the CC or ACC.

"The general reaction of the Chapter was dismay and disappointment that someone would take money that the Chapter had earmarked for charity. I offered to resign as the situation is ultimately my responsibility, but the membership did not wish me to leave office. That was very meaningful to me, given that I was particularly upset over the incident."

3) A proposed set of Chapter Bylaws will be posted to the Chapter Web site and mailing list. They have been tabled for future discussion. "Everyone seems to have ideas on what they'd like to see in a set of bylaws, but no one seems interested in actually *doing* anything about getting a set approved."

4) "It was suggested that two committees be formed to present our cash and food donations to the salvation army and Modesto Gospel Mission in time for Christmas. There was a lack of general interest and the matter was dropped, leaving the CC to see that the donations were made in a timely manner."

5) "Immediately after the [second] meeting, several members anonymously donated extra money to the Chapter to replace the stolen funds."

Current Projects: Chapter concluded a successful food drive for the Salvation Army and homeless shelter. Prior to Christmas, each organization was presented with a money order for $235.00 dollars and a box of canned goods. A letter of thanks has been received from the Salvation Army; one is expected from the Modesto Gospel Mission.

Chapter used the Grand Sabbat event in Modesto to gather toys for Toys-for-Tots. Additional funds were raised through the Charity auction and were donated to the local Salvation Army and United Gospel Mission. More than five (5) "large barrels" of toys were collected for Toys-for-Tots.

Chapter is organizing a fundraiser to coincide with the Modesto Elysium game opening. Further details will be announced on the SW Regional list.

Comments:

"I'm attempting to make our report easier to read...I remember Peter Savas asking for reports to be cleaned up and organized a little better. The primary change I've made is to break prestige awards down into one entry per line with the award type, amount, what it's for, and the date earned. I hope this helps out. I know how tedious it is writing just Twilight Cathedral's report and I can only imagine what it must be like to see 30 or 40 of those a month or more!"

(ARC Note: Thank you for your efforts! They are noticed and appreciated! Keep your eyes open though, more changes are coming.)

Prestige listings contain several backdated items that were either not reported on time, or earned prior to the Member receiving a membership number.

Questions: "No real questions...I tend to post any questions on the SW regional mailing list, rather than waiting to include them in my monthly report. Is that bad? Should I include the questions in my report if they've already been asked on the list?"

Problems:

1) Tamu still having problems accepting reports. The Regional Website does not reflect October report, and no Prestige was awarded to the CC for October. (ARC Note: We are now on a new system, which should correct this issue. I did receive an October report from your Chapter on October 31, 2002.)

2) "It was brought to my attention that a member that I had previously suspended violated his suspension and in addition has been spreading negative rumors about me to other Chapters and officers. I have referred the matter to the ARC Arbitration with a request for action against this member. Other matters regarding this member's conduct and actions were also referred to Arbitration."

3) "It was brought to my attention that visitor to our Chapter was making inflammatory and derogative statements regarding one of our officers. This was being done in a Camarilla sanctioned format. Due to the position this individual holds, the matter has been referred to ARC Arbitration."

No other Questions/Comments/Suggestions in the report.

CA-Pending: The Sunset Strip [Report late: 1/07/01]

(ARC Note: This report was forwarded to the SW-Reports list by the LA Domain DC.)

Chapter has 13 member; four (4) pending members. One (1) member nominated for over 100 Prestige; one (1) member nominated for National Prestige.

Next Chapter meeting November 16.

Highlights from meeting minutes: Chapter discussed Web site. Some discussion of a Sabbat and Changeling venues was held, but more interest is needed before either will be run. Ordeal workshops were discussed, but a point was raised about most people not having membership numbers yet; a workshop will be held in February. Winter Court game discussed. Chapter will be holding a clothing drive in February.

Current projects: Winter Court game in January. Ordeal workshops and clothing drive in February.

Problems:

1) "Eric and Thea both forgot to get their membership cards at ICC even through they renewed they wish to know if there is a way that they can have the card sent to them."

**********RC Note: Email camstuff@camarilla.org and make the subject something along the lines of “lost membership card” so that way the email will get to the right person to be dealt with. In the email, include name, cam #, address, and state that you are requesting a new one be sent. If they need more information, I’m sure they will contact you**********

2) Some of the members are still waiting for their membership numbers

3) "Also there has been a problem with another player from the legends and dreams chapter however i feel it to be more of a storytelling matter at this point and out DST Dan Luboff is handling the matter."

No other Questions/Suggestions/Comments included in the report.

NEVADA:

NVD-Pending: The Ancient Gamble [Report late: 01/08/02]

Domain comprised of three (3) Chapters, with a total of 55 members; 12 pending members. Four (4) members nominated for 100 or more Prestige.

Domain meeting dates not included in the report.

Comments: "Please note that this report is for clerical purposes only. The figures reflected here are for the month of December. Technically we didn't have our domain until the first of January. As such the prestige records here have been taken directly from the CC's report and are unabridged and may not fall under my jurisdiction in some cases. If anyone sees anything wrong please correct me on this trial run. It's a learning experience."

Current projects:

1) Stabilizing the membership numbers of the smallest Chapter; the largest Chapter (Vegas Stakes) has almost three times the number of members as the other two Chapters. Plans are to beef up the numbers through membership drives; until then, transfers will be strictly monitored.

2) Getting all the Chapters to adopt a similar reporting standard for their events.

3) "Id like to get all the Coordination staff using the CTS database for ease of records transferring until the MyCamarilla database is up to the job. I've been able to get Sin City Ghetto up and running on it. I have to sit down with the CC of Dark Glittering knights to teach her how to use it and help her transfer files over."

(ARC Note: Matt, I'm flattered that you think enough of my efforts to get your Domain using the system. Thank you! George Galang tells me they will find a way to do an import of all CTS/VPS-based data.)

Problems:

1) "Problems that are cropping up right now I attribute to normal growing pains. Over the last 8 months we have been without a domain or domain officers. As the officers transition to their new positions in both the domain and chapter level I expect and am already witnessing some stress with those dissatisfied with the outcome of elections. I view this as normal. And have consoled a few members and offered advice to give their new command structure a chance. This seems to have settled the outcry. Over the next few months I am planning on several social events that are not game related to help strengthen the ties between chapters and build better relations among those who would not normally associate."

2) "I've spoken with Sarah Despars about a potential problem that at this time is not appropriate to list in a report. I hope to have a resolution in the next few weeks."

Questions:

1) Does the "New Ordeal Graduates" section reflect the Domain officers only or all members within the Domain?

(ARC Note: You should definitely include Domain officers here; members would be optional as they are reported within their respective Chapter reports.)

2) "Do we have a target date for MyCamarilla's ability to accept prestige records?"

3) "I have several members in Las Vegas who attended ICC an performed prestige worthy duties such as ST support and Security. Yet my understanding is that they were not awarded the prestige for it. Who do I need to speak to in order to rectify the situation?"

(ARC Note: Some of the ICC Prestige has been posted to the ICC Website, http://dppw.tamu.edu/camarilla/icc/icc2001/data/prestige.html; the Storyteller awards have not been posted yet.)

4) "When can we expect an answer on SWRE?"

Suggestions: "I don't have any at this time but I would welcome any suggestions from other

DC's at any time."

NV-004: Grand Illusion

Highlights from meeting minutes: Question/Answer session held regarding Prestige and Prestige Logs. ST reports have been moved to the 15th of the month. Interest in a Garou venue was discussed. Only one person was planning on attending 12th Night; however, a larger group is working toward attending SCaRE. Regular attendance at Pharos Myst games may be possible once the pass is clear. Modesto invitation discussed as well.

Current projects: Blood drive is planned for "mid-January if not February" depending on readiness. Social planned to attend the premier of Lord of the Rings on December 19. Road trip to Pharos Myst on the third weekend of March depending on weather conditions. Attending SCaRE in February as a Chapter.

Community Service: A bi-monthly blood donation cycle. Collecting pop-tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald house.

No other Questions/Problems/Comments included in the report.

SWRE: Still waiting to hear on SWRE bid.

Questions: "When can we officially start adding Prestige to the mycamarilla database?"

Comments: This is my last report as CC. I am stepping down as the CC of this chapter and becoming the DC of the Las Vegas Domain."

No other Questions/Suggestions in the report.

NV-006: Dark Glittering Knights

(ARC Note: CC assumed position on July 28; is pending Ordeal of the Tome, but has passed Ordeal of Chapters. How is this possible? Ordeal of Chapters requires passage of Ordeal of the Tome as a prerequisite.)

Chapter has 18 members; six (6) members transferred out to a new Chapter (Sin City Ghetto), and one (1) inactive member (Carla DiPaola). Two (2) members are pending MC approval: Chrystol Fitzpatrick (2002-07-006) to MC2, and Guy Seggev (9511-039) to MC8. Highlights from meeting minutes:

1) Chapter needs a new ACC Charities; two possibilities mentioned.

2) DGK games will be on the second weekend of the month beginning in February.

3) Chapter discussed the formation of the Domain in Las Vegas; Guy Seggev chosen as DST, after a vote Stan Strawn is the new CST.

4) Discussion of Chapter Constitution: will be written and submitted to membership for approval prior to next meeting.

5) An alternative, larger site will be sought for games; possibility of a site fee raised.

6) Ordeals meeting to be set up for sometime in the future.

Current projects: Pop-tabs for Ronald McDonald House. Chapter will charge a site fee of $1.00 dollar per game to cover the site costs as well as "set the mood" for games; sodas are available for $1.00 each also..

Problems:

1. Two members, Stan Strawn (9812-004) and Dawn Carlson (9806-059) have renewed and are wondering how they go about getting new cards.

(ARC Note: Though outside the scope of my duties, I believe that new membership cards are usually mailed to the members from the Memberships Office after the renewals have been processed.)

2. Two members, Shane and Rose Sylvia (9810-067 and 2001-070-133) have not received membership packets or membership cards.

(ARC Note: Though outside the scope of my duties, I would suggest you send a message via Camstuff to the Director of Memberships requesting assistance if it has been more than six weeks since joining/renewal,.)

3. CC still waiting for results of Ordeal of the Tome; test submitted in August. She claims four inquires have been sent regarding this issue, but no response has been forthcoming. Additionally, Shane Sylvia (9810-067) submitted Ordeal of the Tome in October, and has not received a response.

4. One member (Stan Strawn, 9812-004) who had become Independent due to work considerations has re-joined the Chapter as those concerns have resolved themselves. ARC Outreach has been notified.

No other Comments/Suggestions in the report.

NV-Pending: Sin City Ghetto [Report late: 01/02/02]

Chapter has 11 members. Two (2) members nominated for 100 Prestige. Two (2) members qualify for MC advancement: Chrystol Fitzpatric to MC2; and Kevin Hatcher to MC3.

Last Chapter meeting December 30; next Chapter meeting January 20.

Current projects: None at this time.

Problems: "We have been having some problems getting responses on Ordeals." Three members have submitted ordeals with no response. (ARC Note: ANC-Database indicates Kevin Hatcher passed the Ordeal of the Tome on 12/23/01; and the Ordeal of Chapters on 11/07/01.)

No other Questions/Suggestions/Comments/Concerns in the report.

UTAH:

UTD-02: Mountain Shadows

Domain has three (3) Chapters comprised of 55 members total with six (6) pending members. Megan Ahrendes (CC: House of the Forsaken) and Art Hansen (CC: Rising Sun) are both pending MC approvals from the DC.

Domain Treasury contains $1,815.57.

Last Domain meeting January 1; next Domain meeting January 29.

Current Projects: None at the present time.

Comments: DC is stepping down in June. DST has stepped down; as of 1/1/02, Troy Turner is new DST.

Problems: "*Still waiting for a response on this one* = Prestige recommendations for DST. To date I have received none. Should I just award her what I think it should be, or should I wait for Pete's recommendation? How about this one - If I don't hear back from this report, I'll just award her what I think she deserves. ;) 10/01 addition = Since I didn't hear back I'm awarding Erin Ruston the prestige that I think she deserves in this report. Sorry about all the backdating.

"-----Okay, so I wait and wait and wait for a prestige recommendation for the DST, then I give up and award her some, I'm told that I still have to wait for the recommendation FIRST. WHEN is that going to happen? She's planning on stepping down at the end of this month and I really would like to give her SOME prestige for the entire time she's been our DST. Could someone help me out with this?

"-----12/01 addition: So, Erin stepped down as of 1/1/02. I awarded her some prestige a couple of reports ago. I still have no recommendations for any prestige for her since she started about two years ago. So, unless I hear to the contrary, I'm going to let her keep the prestige that I awarded her. I know this was incorrect, but she's been waiting for years to get ANY kind of prestige."

Current projects: Still looking for a better game site; have been held at CC's home, but changing weather conditions make this difficult.

Comments: "The ANC Database has indicated several discrepancies in my report versus what is shown in the records. I am attempting to get records corrected however there are some instances where the problem is not on this end. Myself and my wife both have membership cards with a February 2002 expiration, yet I am being told that my expiration is in November of 2001. I have another couple of members who are still awaiting membership cards and several weeks have gone by and a couple of others who have completed ordeals but have been told their ordeals have not been completed."

No other Problems/Questions/Suggestions included in the report.

UT-004: Rising Sun

Chapter has 15 members. (ARC Note: The section listing membership totals was not completed in this report; there is no indication, therefore, of the number of new, transferred or pending members. The membership count was obtained by counting the number of members listed individually in the Prestige section of the report; this number may not be accurate.) One (1) member nominated for National Prestige.

Last Chapter meeting December 28; next Chapter meeting January 28.

CC is pending Prestige Audit for advancement to MC 5.

Current projects: Bowling night in January. Food drive in February. Paintball is a possibility in March.

No other Problems/Comments/Suggestions/Concerns in the report.

UT-008: Velvet Glove

(ARC Note: CST assumed post 01/01; has not passed any of the required ordeals yet.)

Chapter has 28 members; 17 active members.

Last Chapter meeting December 11; next Chapter meeting January 8.

Current projects: Lazer Quest social event and a Masquerade Masked Charity Ball in January.

No other Problems/Questions/Concerns/Comments in the report.

UT-Pending: House of the Forsaken

(ARC Note: CC assumed position June 10 and has only completed Ordeal of the Tome; reports Ordeal of Chapters is pending at this time.)

(ARC Note: Chapter report post to SW-Reports by the CC of UT-004 due to connectivity issues; the CC had temporarily lost Internet access due to problems with their DSL connection. Advance notification was given to me on this problem.)

Chapter has 12 members; one (1) transferred member, one (1) Pending member. One member, Megan Ahrendes (9912-171) is pending MC3 advancement.

Last Chapter meeting November 26; next Chapter meeting December 28.

Current Projects: "Our new web domain, camstuff.net is up and running. We have done a major over haul on the pages and have moved them to the new domain. We will be starting our baked goods sales to raise money for the chapter." (sic)

Problems:

1) "I have not been able to get my results back for the grading of the Code of the Chapters. Since it has been over 4 month and I haven't heard back after sending a few emails I will be retaking the test. A few other people in my chapter are in this position and it is getting a bit frustrating."

2) "Just as another note, my DSL was cut off along with my email when Randy quite his job. If any one wants to contact the chapter via email they will have to send one to Leslie at morningsprite@hotmail.com. We will have new email addresses on the 2nd of Jan hopefully and also the page will be updated again at that time. We will be applying to the sw lists again also."

3) "We are still waiting to hear back about our chapter #. Our check to pay for it has been cashed. We will email it as soon as we get it."

No other Questions/Concerns/Comments/Suggestions in the report.

ARC REPORT COMMENTS

PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

1. A continuing problem is Ordeals. Many of the coordinators and storytellers have submitted them for grading, but do not hear back for months at a time; while others get a response within a few weeks. I have compiled a list (based on information in the reports this month) of those people who's ordeals are outstanding, and will be submitting a request to the Director of Education's office for clarification. Hopefully, I will be able to get some kind of definitive answer to pass back to the affected members.

2. The problem of membership numbers comes up again in this report. There are still member who have not received membership materials, or have had to resend membership renewals more than once, and still have not received any indication their applications were received.

QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

1. (From the last two months:) How will the rollout of MyCamarilla affect the functioning of this office? Will Chapters begin filing their reports there? Will I have some kind of super-report to run from the database that will get all the "demographic" (name, address, Prestige, etc.) data from the Chapters?

2. Report formats are still somewhat inconsistent. Sarah and I have discussed the situation and will be announcing some changes that we hope will rectify these inconsistencies shortly.

ARC PUBLICATIONS REPORT

As simple as this report is going to be I'm going to ditch the structure often used in reporting just to say that the most recent issue is complete and in .pdf format. However it is over 6 megs unzipped and over 5 zipped. I've been unable to send this as an attachment with email or upload it to the "files" section of our yahoogroups page. So the obstacle to our membership having access to this issue is the size of a thread, but the thread exists all the same. Anyone have a pair of scissors?

ARC COMMUNICATION REPORT

(Position is currently vacant, and job duties are being performed by former position holder.)

Brief report of list mods and their monthly prestige and reporting activites.

 Reporting is low again this month, with only three people reporting for the month of December.

 All other reports are fine, with no problems reported.

 Prestige recommends for list mods: Quarter four covers the month of December. http://www.camarilla-sw.org/resources/prestige/listmods/2001qtr4.html

Prestige recommend for Ronni Eloff, server space, and assistance with troubleshooting and database uploads. 10 regional has been past amount given, should this amount of an award continue under the new RC? I leave this to Sarah.

On the recent BoD announcement on Cam-Announce: Concern was raised by my mind as to the new BoD decision to change all official lists to the new Camarilla servers. How will this impact the yahoogroups mail lists? My understanding is that all yahoogroups lists will be moved to the new system, if there is room for them all. How do the members in general feel about this? By what deadline will this occur? How will this affect any new ARC Communications person's job? What if the general members don't want to give up ownership of their lists? I mean only three people cared enough for prestige to submit a report at our level. I will be asking the sw list mods what their perspective is on this official change. On web sites, questions have been raised concerning the BoD decision to move all official web sites to the Camarilla servers. The first one has to do with the time line for moving them all, considering it is admitted to be in a state of flux. Other questions as of today are: 1!

) Does this supercede the policy that enables us to give prestige for yahoogroup email lists if they were registered with the ARC-Communications? 2) Does this mean that in order to give prestige to the webmasters of chapter web pages we have to move them to the new server? I do not know the answers, and have not seen any other answers, but it has only been one day. I will state at this time that I do not want to move the SW Regional site to the Camarilla servers, if those servers do not have certain functionalities, such as access to MySQL. At last commentary on Cam-web list, George Gallang refused to give out passwords to this program, which denies access to the program. I also like the ftp access, which we have, all the email forwarders we have in place, our own domain name (camarilla-sw.org), along with other minor functionalities that will not be available on the Camarilla server. I would ask that these commentaries, along with comments pro or con by the *Cs on sw-coords and swr-listmods@yahoogroups, be compiled and forwarded to the BoD for that even this list would have to be brought back to the Camarilla server.

6. INDEPENDENT REPORT

1. SUMMARY Congrats to Sara on getting stuck err I mean attaining the position of RC ;). Good luck to you. Working working working. Have Job duties way more clearly defined. Been getting to work after a rather nice holiday.

2. OUTSTANDING ISSUES I. Still waiting on a Chapter # for Shadow of a States CA Pending. They have gone over their probationary period and have passed with flying colors. I recommended in my last report (as Shannon asked me) to see if this chapter was ready to be approved. II. Been keeping an eye on Domains forming in the local area. Have been overlooking the formation of the new Las Vegas domain. Officers have been elected for that and have made myself available to them. Things are looking good. San Diego is also looking to form a domain in the near future I’m told. I have some concern on two of the local chapters. Paradise lost and Maledorium. PL is in the Black currently and Maledorium is in the Red. New chapter Elections were done for Maledorium and the new CC Brian Majors assures me that the back reports will be turned in promptly and that reports will be filed. I am recommending that the CC of Paradise Lost be removed from office by the RC for failure to report. I fear t!

he chapter will fold unless some course of action is taken immediately.

3. CURRENT PROJECTS Currently I have the large task of filtering out the Independent members section of the My Cam Database. Allot of members should not be there. Allot of those in there are members of pending members. Just got to track down who goes where and hopefully get them where they need to be.

6. (NEW- SWRE BID RECOMMENDATION)

1. SUMMARY

It's been a quiet month with the holidays and such. Congrats again to Sarah for the upgrade in jobs! :) The pressing issue has been the weighing of the bids for SWRE 2002. I have included my recommendation below for Sarah's final consideration.

2. OUTSTANDING ISSUES

I talked to Shannon many times about evaluating the LA Ball 2000 prestige awards and wanted to get a status on this. The longer we go without the auditing of these amounts, the more comfortable players will get and they will always assume these levels are the correct ones for regional events and conventions in the SW. This has been outstanding for more than 6 months- can we get a status update?

**********RC Note: This was something Aaron Morgan was working on, I had no basis to work on it. I’ll contact him for whatever files he has on it and when an ARC Prestige is chosen, I’ll hand it off to them.*********

3. CURRENT ISSUES

None at this time. I am going to be putting out a 'how-to' for hosting/bidding a mini-regional venue event. I hope to have 1 large mini-regional event per venue each year. IE- Sabbat hosted by Sac (Rio Sangre), C/A by the LA Ball, Changeling in Fresno/OC, etc. These are just basic examples of cities that I know have in the past hosted successful venue events - it would be open to all chapters/domains in the region. This would also provide an opportunity for players to get regional prestige- which can be difficult when not a regional officer or helping host/plan the SWRE.

4. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

None this month!

5. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

I hope that people realize that making the decision as to which city to recommend wasn't an easy one and that they don't take it personally. We need the SWRE to start building on a reputation for a great game and great experience. We lure them in with a great location (much like LA and ICC 2001) and then show them that the gaming is great too so they want to attend the following year regardless of location. This is my interest for future SW regional events and building attendance.

6. SWRE BID RECOMMENDATION

Based on location, space and room pricing, in addition to staff considerations, my recommendation is to have the SWRE 2002 in Las Vegas the weekend of August 16th-18th. I pick this specific date due to the following considerations: Spring is too early- not enough time. August 8th- 11th is GenCon (RST will be out of the region) August 30th-2nd (Labor Day Weekend) is DragonCon and Burning Man - two extremely popular events for SW players. It's also traditionally the weekend after the NWRE, so attendance is low. (It was for the 2000 Ball in LA when on that weekend) I also think that having the event in Vegas will allow for more SW players to attend from the outlaying areas- such as Arizona and New Mexico. It's driving distance from LA, or a really cheap airfare and hotel room rates are great. It will also be easier to promote the event and get some National buzz on it as Las Vegas is a nationally known entertainment and holiday destination. It is also my opinion that Sacramento!

has a really strong bid- and a great organizational team- and I would ask if they would be interested in hosting a SWRE in Spring 2002 - or a mini-regional at that same time.
