Questions and Concerns

A. Personal Questions, Concerns, Comments.

Finally put out a vote for the sigil, which has been something worked on for

2-3 years now.  Due to the length of delay in doing this, and the unresponsiveness of the majority of the region when questions and requests were made, we offered Regional prestige to those who voted and to those who compiled the votes for their chapter.

Sigil Vote Results: There has been a bit of a difficulty with the sigil vote.  The RC staff will be decideing between the remaining 5 sigils.

http://www.camarilla-sw.org/sigils/images/tshirt%20images/SWSIGIL4BW.jpg

http://www.camarilla-sw.org/sigils/images/tshirt%20images/SWSIGIL.jpg

http://www.camarilla-sw.org/sigils/images/SigilSW.jpg

http://www.camarilla-sw.org/sigils/images/CamSigil1.jpg

http://www.camarilla-sw.org/sigils/images/CamSigil2.jpg

There are some issues with the finalists.  Some contain the old NPO sigil, which far as I know, can't be used and will have to be removed, or replaced with the current Camarilla sigil or just an anhk.  Others include WW copyrighted symbols that we will have to get permission to use in the official sigil (because they would be put on T-shirts to be sold, business cards, letter heads, etc.).

I wish to express to everyone in the region that they are free to contact me for advice, answers to questions, and just to talk if they want.  My AIM is Nutbonnet, ICQ is 10417181, and all of you know my email address.  If you email something to me, wanting advice on a problem, please be sure to make it clear that you aren't wanting me to step in officially.  I don't like chain of command jumping at all. ;) _________________________________ Prestige Recommendations

Overview of AZ, HI, NV, UT Chapter and Domain Reports

ARIZONA:

WWAZ-003: The Last Outpost     Rating: On-time, Good

   (ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)

   Chapter has 22 members; one (1) new member. One (1) member was awarded MC advancement: Chris Anacker to MC6.  Two (2) members nominated for more than 100 Prestige.  Chapter treasury contains $110.00 dollars.

   Last Chapter meeting March 17; next Chapter meeting TBD.

   Current Projects:  Fundraising ideas.  Re-establishing the Domain.

Inter-Chapter events with Night Shift.  Chapter event for CPR certification.  Trying to stabilize the chapter and boost morale "now that a major cause of stress within the chapter has been alleviated."

   Comments:  "Chapter campout was a huge success.  Chapter put together a first-aid kit for games and events as many of them are outdoors."

   Maggie (CC): "Mike Meyer and Luci Horton have been a huge part in maintaining my sanity as I have had some medical issues to deal with.  They not only have helped me do my job and at times done it for me with no complaints or hesitation but continually go above and beyond the call of duty within the chapter.  They are a continual support system for me as they have both held the CC position and they make themselves always available to assist with and questions, concerns, or problems that may arise.  Christi Lawson-Bernake has applied to be independent member, waiting word on approval of it. She has since chosen to move to Sierra Vista and avoids contact with all chapter members. I have investigated a matter concerning plot cheese with one of her characters that she felt was going to be killed due to OOC knowledge. I found no evidence that this is not a legitimate IC kill. The only questionable actions I found were actually on Christi's part. I spoke with all parties involved and if anyone needs to see my report on that, they can contact me privately. A large sum of members wanted to file a grievance against Christi as she has taken part in "actions that are unbefitting a member" of the camarilla. They decided not to file a grievance as she is trying to become an independent member and has chosen to move to Sierra Vista to escape what she unfortunately feels to be persecution from this chapter. She will be missed by many of us in the chapter and these events are truly sad and not what I want my chapter to represent. I am however still investigating other issues."

   Natalia ACC: No report received

   Mike ACC: "Working closely with Luci Horton on Prestige audits of all members current and active in the chapter.  We still have a few audits to do but as we get them done we are turning over members for audits at Regional level if they are eligible.

   Luci ACC: "Still working on web page ideas, school has kept me busy though, there will be more soon. I have been closely assisting our CC with anything she needs as she has had some medical problems."

   Chris ACC: "Coordinating rides to/from games and/or events.  It is difficult to hold this position as many take advantage of my generosity and expect me to be a taxi and pay for the gas too. Currently we are seeking solutions into these matters to avoid future problems."

   Aaron ACC: "I am currently assisting Maggie by keeping her up to date on current events within the chapter when she has doctor's appointments and other events she must attend. I try to be her voice if she cannot make herself available and I am her eyes and ears too."

   Josh ACC: "Currently have approximately $110 in chapter funds."

   Dan ACC:  'Worked with Mike to build first-aid kit for chapter, hopefully we will never need it but it is always good to have when chapter events are outdoors. Chapter events have had water there as the weather is getting warmer and well. this is the desert folks."

~~~~~RC Note:  is it truly necessary to have -SEVEN- ACCs?  I'm sure some of these jobs could be combined and with fewer assistants.  ~~~~~
   Problems, Suggestions, Questions:  "As stated above the conclicts with Christi Lawson-Bernake and several members of the chapter have lead to her decision to apply to be an independent member.  There is still some investigation, and pending issues that Maggie is looking into."
AZ-004: Nightshift     Rating: On-time, Good
   Chapter has 37 members. Five (5) members recommended for over 100 Prestige; two (2) members nominated for National Prestige.  Five (5) members eligible for MC advancement: Ben Wintersteen to MC8; Gary Hyde and Jeff Sollars to MC7; Brad Walling to MC6, and Jeremy WHite to MC5.  Chapter treasury is empty.
   Last Chapter meeting March 14, next chapter meeting first or second Thursday in April.
   Current Projects: Ongoing food, clothing and recycling drives will continue for the foreseeable future.  Chapter will host a "Cheese Fest"
event, an idea given to the Chapter by Nikki McCorstin (Velvet Glove), on May 18.
   Comments: "For ease of checking each member on the roster, I have noted next to there name if they were inactive.  Inactive being that they received no prestige for the month in question.
   "I have given each member of the chapter with new Camarilla numbers, 50 prestige for early renewal.  I know for a fact that more have new numbers, but have not given to me as of yet... Note I have only rewarded for this years early renewal.
   "The chance for general members to score some Regional or even national prestige is greatly appreciated by the masses.  Though turn out may be low...most like the opportunity."
   Problems/Questions/Suggestions:
   "Some members of the chapter have been asking about the Ordeals, have they stopped doing them?  One member told me that White Wolf is redoing them... Is this the case?  Some statements from Regional or above may help clear some confusion."
 (ARC Note: This subject has been addressed in previous reports from this office.  The Ordeals have been suspended at this time.  White Wolf does plan on reinstating Ordeals at some point in the future, but they have not told us when.)
   "Still working on getting all the new membership numbers from my chapter, everyday I seem to get a little closer...sometimes getting players do something is very frustrating."
   No other Comments in the report.
WWAZ-008: Kokopelli's Dream     Rating: Early, Good
   (ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
   Chapter has 12 members; three (3) pending members.  Three (3) members qualifies for MC advancement (only two are listed): Liz "Spider" Wingate
(US2002023335) to MC6, and J. Porter Wiseman (US2002033999) to MC3.
   Last Chapter meeting April 15, next Chapter meeting May 25.
   Highlights of meeting minutes:  Chapter met to discuss BBQ, direction for the chapter, and number and types of games; they will run a Changeling and Mage game, and attend Anarch and Sabbat games run by Nightshift.  The Blood Drive is still viable, interest is growing.  Chapter continues to donate clothes and newspaper in charity drives.  Spent time discussing the Character CD project; will be extending an invitation to participate to the Tithe of Souls Chapter.  Some members are discussing a trip to Los Angeles "in the hopes that they could take pointers from more experienced role players."
   Current projects: "The Character CD Soundtrack project seems to be catching fire. Ideas for songs got kicked around at the chapter meeting, as well as over AIM and during hang out times at various coffeehouses and Denny's.  The Mage VSS is going through some revisions, but we have hopes for beginning in June or July.  I've spoken with the local Big Brother Network, and it seems that anyone who wishes to volunteer will be committing for at least six months.  I'm currently working on rescheduling the Blood Drive, as being currently without wheels for an indeterminate amount of time makes organization difficult.  Spending as much time drumming up support for Nightshift community service projects as I am trying to organize some for KD."
   Problems:  "The CST and I got into a car accident (we're roommates and share a car), which made several issues out of game this month.  Namely, we were both in bed with whiplash.  We're going to be fairly ineffective until we get the car back, though we're hoping we can impinge on the good graces of our chapter members if a situation becomes desperate.  And since the car is at Audo Body World, so is my disk containing everyone's new WW numbers.
Since I'm at work, I'll be submitting those next month.  And my disk containing prestige logs is also in a box, so I haven't been able to submit Spider's audit."
   Questions: "Is it possible to give members prestige for running a troupe game?  I've got two who are running a KoE troupe game, and making monthly reports to the CST."
~~~~~RC Note: As far as prestige goes it would count for Organizing a Cam Event, in organizational service.  That's about it.~~~~~

   Comments:  "Spent some time with various chapter members hanging out either at the coffee shop or Denny's.  Either option is a great excuse to chat and to consume a lot of caffeine.  Anything that involves caffeine is a good thing.  When we get the car back, we're going to go bowling or see a movie.  A few members of the chapter have a table top game running that occurs every Monday evening.  A potential new member might be lost to the dark side of LARP as we're working on convincing her that it's a good idea.

There was some half-joking about getting a network of computers running through which the chapter could get lost in Ever Quest...  At least, I think it was half-joking.  It might have been completely serious."

NEVADA:

WWNVD-Pending: The Ancient Gamble     Rating: On-time, Great

   Domain comprised of three (3) Chapters, and 47 members; two (2) new members.  One (1) officer recommended for more than 100 Prestige.

   Last Domain meeting May 3, next Domain meeting "Pending."

   Current projects:  SinCity/SWRE 2002.

   Charities: "D Buetel is currently polling membership for a charity. I hope to have that in stone by 5/25/02. My understanding is that the Modesto Crew has volunteered to do another CarnEvil for the event."

   Promotions/Web:  "The website is up and running at http://www.sin-city-by-night.com . The Flash intro is spiffy. Working on adding content. Events schedule should be up by this weekend. I'm concerned that the information isn't getting up on the web fast enough. I may undertake minor adjustments myself rather than rely on Anthony. Not because he can't do the work but because I'm an evil task-master.

   "Sean Alexander has made designed advertisements that kick the tar out of anything any other event has come up with this year in my opinion. Would it be possible for the RC to award him prestige at this time worthy of such efforts? Such creativity shouldn't go unrewarded or delayed.

~~~~~RC Note: you should be keeping track of everything anyone does for the event at the end of the event you will be required to report to me your prestige recommendations for those who helped out, they will then be awarded. ~~~~~
   Registration:  I've started to investigate a POS system for the event to run on my computer for check in. Wendy Ruthaford has supplied an access database used at other events. It should do the trick but I want to check it out a bit more.
   It has been offered by WW representatives that we use their web site to process credit card orders. I am still waiting on details of this. It may be easier to work with than paypal. But my main concern is that WW would charge a 10 percent service charge to do this where as PayPal charges roughly 2 percent.
   Volunteers: Currently working on the details of a program to help track volunteers. Would it be possible to get staffing demographics from prior events as a guideline? My fear is that we will be sorely understaffed at peak hours.
   Check-In: I'm tossing around the idea of opening up Check-In the night before the event.
   Events:  The RST has supplied us with an events schedule.
   Comments:
   "I'm going to be pitching an idea to the Coordination Council in regards to Domain Sanctioned Games. That instead of charging money we are going to be requiring that each participant either,
   "A: Donate money for an item for the Charity Auction
   "B: Volunteer a 3 hour block wherever we want for SinCity
   "C: Donate a clean article of clothing suitable for donation to Safe Nest"
   Problems: "Had a problem getting a Domain Coordinator's meeting together because of scheduling conflicts and ride issues.  I may attempt to do an online meeting, although personally I’m loathing doing so.
   "I sent Jim Blaylock an email with the information from the Domain Application. I haven't heard back from him yet.
   "My Motherboard and or processor took a dive last week.  While the data on the drivers should be intact I'm going to have to wait for replacement parts before I can pull much needed information off of it.  Please bear with me, as this will cause several inconveniences with communication."
   Chapter currently has 13 members; one (1) pending member.  Three (3) members are qualified for MC advancement: Shane Van Weikle (US2002034790) and James Altman (9705-102) to MC3, and Aaron Gomez (US2002021788) to MC4.
Six (6) members nominated for Regional Prestige.  Chapter treasury contains $4.00 dollars.
   Last Chapter meeting April 27, next Chapter meeting May 12.
   Highlights of meeting minutes:  Chapter talked about getting together more often.  "With the past two Chapter Socials delayed and changed, a lot of people were not satisfied with our monthly social and have demanded more time, especially some of the hard-core gamers.  So, we are going to oblige them, because really, once a month is hardly enough time to Game and get together."
   Discussed Chapter charity event, the MS Walk, and getting sponsors and support to participate in it; membership is enthusiastic.
   One-shot troupe game with Sierra By Night sometime during the summer.
Some of their members are interested in learning about the Camarilla, "to see if things have changed since their last experience with the previous incarnation of the Chapter.  Poor experiences with the past chapter have kept people from coming to our current Chapter's games and we wish to alleviate the former hostility by showing them exactly what kind of games we run and how our Chapter Constitution helps keep a sense of order.  One of the complaints we have heard from members of this organization is the lack of a place to where grievances can be expressed.  The RC's doctrine about how conflict resolution is to be handled has also been expressed to the Membership so that past problems can be alleviated."
   Chapter also discussed travel plans to the Bay Area.
   Current Projects:  Road trip to Bay Area to attend games.  Members of other RP groups to be in attendance at next Chapter game; extending "hand of friendship" to counteract previous bad experiences with the Chapter.
Exploring charity options (i.e. MS Walk in May, Race for the Cure, etc.); members are committed to helping with the Ronald McDonald House charity (soda-tabs), and the Community Blood Drive.  Socials on May 12 and May 25.
   Problems:  "Some members have not been able to transfer their memberships yet, and that's why they don't appear on this report, we apologize and will make sure that this problem is taken care of right away."
   Current projects: Pop-tabs for Ronald McDonald House; other possible charities are being discussed.
   Comments:
   1. "I have resent in the Tome ordeal and awaiting an answer.  This was done 2 weeks ago."
   2. "We are changing our site fee charges to mirror charges from the other chapters.  If a chapter charges our players $2.00, that is what they will pay.  If their chapter charges $3.00, that is what they will pay.  Or if the player wishes, they can pay $0.50 per soda/water to help cover the costs. If the player pays the full site fee, they will be noted as such.  When DGK games are held, I make sure that there is a variety of soda's as well as enough for all players attending DGK games.  If we do not purchase sodas for a particular game, there will not be a charge.  New members and guests are not charged this fee."
   3. "Rebecca Darrah US2002022823/200106112, has moved to Canada and will be transferring back to Four Winds.  Her Prestige log and XP log has been forwarded to the CC of Four Winds."
   4. "Dawn (Kat) Carlson 9806-059 2002-09-30 was out of Nevada for awhile, but is back. She has a WW number but I need to get it from her."
   Problems:
   1) "All but one of our current members have WW #.  I am personally working on getting Adam Bland his WW #, just have to get a mailing address.
Emailing him to get this information as his service duties has kept him from coming to the last few games."
Overview of CA chapter and Domain reports
WWCAD-003: Domain of Myst
  February      [Report late: 04/08/02]    Rating: Late, Mediocre
   Domain comprised of two (2) Chapters and 26 members; one (1) transferred
member, one (1) pending member.  Two (2) members are currently undergoing MC
Audits: Tim Brown (9610-027) to MC9, and Adam Phelps (9511-059) to MC11.
One (1) member niminated for Regional Prestige.  Domain Treasury contains $180.00 "(Currently in the possession of Ronni Eloff) [Still pending retrieval of the $249.00 cashiers check from former DC Kimmi Allbee - Cashier Checks from Winder Ball 2000.]"
   Last Domain meeting September 29, 2001, next Domain meeting TBD.
   Last Chapter Council meeting January 9, next Chapter Council meeting
February 8.
   Current Situation within the Domain:
   "The domain has been concentrating its efforts on the recruitment drive at DunDraCon this month.  While this idea began within the domain, I am glad to see that several chapters have decided to participate making the event a collaborative effort.   We will be hosting a two-day game running Friday and Saturday on February 15-16 at 9:00 pm.  I would like to offer a special thanks to Adam Phelps for all his work in coordinating."
   Problems/Suggestions/Questions:
   "1. I have contacted both of the previous DC's who were supposed to be possession of domain funds, and I am in the process of making arrangements to clear up the issues surrounding the treasury.  While I was concerned about the lack of communication on this issue, I was nor never intended to infer that any stole money from the club or the domain.  I am, however, responsible for accounting for that money to the members, and I therefore was concerned about collecting it.
   "2. Because of my new work schedule, I will need to appoint ADC's.  If I can do so by this month, I will have to step down from the position of DC."
   No other Concerns in the report.
  March      [Report late: 04/08/02]    Rating: Late, Mediocre
   Domain comprised of two (2) Chapters and 25 members.  One (1) member,
John Oliver (US2002021299), approved for MC8.
   Last Domain meeting September 29, 2001, next Domain meeting TBD.
   Last Chapter Council meeting January 9, next Chapter Council meeting TBD.
   Comments:  "Domain Funds: $429.00 was reported in the Domain treasury by the former DC; however, this money is not now available because of its questionable status by those responsible for keeping track of it.  My attempts to account for the funds have been met with anger, untruths, and hostility.  As a result, I am simply tracking the total as it was originally reported.
   Current Situation within the Domain:
   "Camarilla / White Wolf Transition
   "Both Pharos Myst and The Dragon's Coils are currently debating the challenges of the transition, and both chapters are currently undergoing shifts in membership as a result. On the domain level, this transition has provided us with the opportunity to reevaluate the current status of Myst.
It appears that those active members in each chapter, for the moment, would like to stick it out with the organization. However, their efforts are limited to the chapter level. I have seen little or no support for maintaining the Domain. With the fairly low membership of each chapter, perhaps the time has come to answer the question of whether the Domain should continue. I have tried on several occasions to have an open domain meeting, but have as yet met with little (read NO) success.
   "Resignation:
   "I apologize for the tardiness of this report. I have started a new job that demands a 60hr work week, I am moving, and I am just coming through some personal issues that are not appropriate to mention in this report. I don't offer these as excuses, rather I just want to explain the real life demands placed upon my time recently. As such, I hereby tender my resignation as DC of the Domain of Myst. This report will be my last act as DC. I have very much enjoyed the opportunity, but I have had a meager amount of support at the domain level, and I can not unfortunately do the job properly by myself.
   "CHAPTERS:
   "Pharos Myst / The Dragon's Coils:
   "Whichever way the chapters choose to proceed at this point, it appears as if they are in the process of working out a schedule of games that will compliment one another. I strongly suggest they continue in this vein."
   Problems/Suggestions/Questions:
   "1. Some of the chapter officers are a bit unclear about the new reporting format and criteria. Perhaps a general post can be made again to the coordinators' list, so they can have a clear idea of what they need to do in order to comply."
   No other Concerns in the report.
  April      [Report late: 04/08/02]    Rating: Late, Mediocre
   Domain comprised of two (2) Chapters and 25 members; one (1) transferred member.  One (1) member, Choli Lightfoot (US2002023056), approved for MC8.
One (1) member nominated for Regional Prestige.  Domain Treasury contains $429.00 ("?").
   Last Domain meeting September 29, 2001, next Domain meeting TBD.
   Last Chapter Council meeting January 9, next Chapter Council meeting TBD.
   Current Situation within the Domain:
   "Resignation:
   "Although I resigned in my last report, I have decided to complete this last Domain Report because I had trouble during the transition getting subscribed to the proper lists.  For some reason I was unable to subscribe to the Domain list itself, a rather ironic issue.  That having been said, this will stand as my last official act as DC.  Also, since my reports and the domain itself have barely been acknowledged beyond the local level, I have attached copies of my previous reports for the record.
   "CHAPTERS:
   "Pharos Myst / The Dragon's Coils
   "The chapters have made a concerted effort to reestablish and strengthen them individually; however, I have seen no progress at the domain level.  While I do not feel it is my place to determine the fate of the domain for the rest of the membership, I believe their actions, or lack of actions, speaks volumes to the future of the domain in the Bay Area.
   "The Commentary section: None
   Problems/Suggestions/Questions:
   "The decision and format of email list moderation seems confusing and down right unproductive.  I'm especially concerned about why it would take the DC two months to get subscribed to his own domain list.  I'm also concerned that the list is moderated by someone who is not even a member of the domain."
   No other Concerns in the report.
WWCA-003: Phoenix House   Rating: On-time, Fair
   (ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
   Last Chapter meeting: "none;" next Chapter meeting: "none."
   Current Projects:  Charity drives and game schedules continue as normal.
"We're continuing to make progress with mutual support between ours and
‘Legends and Dreams’ games."
   Problems:
   1. "The delay on Prestige Reviews is getting frustrating."
   2. "It looks like we'll be falling under 10 members, as Bill Best has declined to transfer his membership to White Wolf's club, and Jessica Bibb will be transferring to Orange County in the near future."
   3. "I'm still offended by the idea of having my Chapter given a poor rating due to our possible failure to live up to somebody else's ideals of how active a Chapter should be in a given month."
~~~~~RC Note:  I have asked for suggestions on how to change the rating system and chapter report format to make it easier on you.  If you don't like how it is now, please submit a suggestion as to how it could be made better.~~~~~

   "The piece was a Gargoyle and was used (etched into the plaque which was presented).  This award was presented under Steve's term of Pres. and at that time I was under him directly as the Dir. of Membership Development was not in place yet.

   Problems:  "Haven't heard from one of PM's members, Ted Greer, in several months.  Have tried contacting him, but haven't gotten a response.  Others that know him say he's not coming back, so I've removed him as of this month."

WWCA-016: The House of the Silver Crescent     Rating: On-time, Good

   Chapter has 17 members.  Three (3) members qualify for MC advancement:

C.R. Teodoro (US2002021898) to MC5; Jacqui McKinney (US2002023284) to MC2, and Mike Jackson (US2002021362) to MC9.

   Last Chapter meeting April 6, next Chapter meeting TBD after May 10.

   Highlights of meeting minutes:  Six members, one "former/newly brought out of torpor" members in attendance.  Friday evenings, Sunday afternoon or Saturday afternoon before game discussed as good times for meetings.

Charity event rescheduled "due to lack of interest."  Blood drive postponed to next month.  Web page discussed.

   Current projects:  "As of right now the chapter is not very active.  This is because of other life commitments on the part of the ST, CC, ACC and other members.  Hopefully this will change in the summer after finals, graduations and other stuff is over.  I, myself have not devoted a whole lot of time to the chapter as I should have.  This will change as I will be learning how to drive this summer and will be able to travel [hopefully] into Orange County more.  Also a blood drive is scheduled for May, and possibly a charity event at Isaiah House.  In addition to that, three members have offered their homes for socials during the warmer months.

Perhaps in the future a BBQ or something similar will occur there.  I am also planning a prestige class/social to teach some of the newer members how to log prestige correctly."

   Problems:  "The prestige logs for Ms. Brokl and Mr. Saunders have not be given over by the CC of DSE CA-023.  The current CC of the chapter does not have them as they haven't been given over by the former CC, Ms. Ramos.  I have accepted Ms. Brokl's and Mr. Saunder's prestige and I have asked the DC to approve the MC classes as well.  If the records to materialize in the future, then the totals from those records if they differ will be used."

   Comments/Suggestions:  "These two are being grouped together.  The

comment and suggestion I have relate to the sigils.  Granted the  inning one is voted upon by the membership, but I am relaying comments my members have made about the sigils.  Many of them feel the sigils are very well drawn and nice, however a lot of them are too complicated for anything less then a t-shirt and may compromise the artists' talents if shrunk down.  This is just a suggestion in relation to the winning one, you might want to ask the artist to simplify the winning sigil so it doesn't look all scrunched up on letterheads, business cards or anything small."

   Chapter has 16 members; one (1) new member, and one (1) transferred

member.  Two (2) members are MC9 or higher.

   Last Chapter meeting March 9, next Chapter meeting TBD.

   Highlights of meeting minutes:  "Chapter meeting was held to vote for new CST.  Michael Santschi was elected new CST and will be assuming the position as of the first of June.

   "The consistent decline of active members was discussed and a number of possible solutions were posed.  We are considering running tabletop

white-wolf games at a local game store with the hope of attracting new

members.

   "A number of suggestions for fund-raisers were discussed as well."

   Current Projects:  "We are currently working on a possible name change for our chapter as well as designing a new sigil based on the name we choose.  We have also changed venue priority, with the chapter now focusing on our Sabbat venue."

   Problems:  "The decline in active members is a great concern for us.  We are hoping that our ideas will help."

   Questions:  "We have members that have proof of purchase for ordeals we wish to know what the situation with these ordeals is, or how we can receive a refund for what has been paid for."

~~~~~RC Note:  Proof-of-payment for ordeals that have not been graded,
WWCA-023: Sepulchre   [Report late: 05/03/02]     Rating: Late, Fair
   (ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
   Chapter has 15 members. Two (2) members are qualified for MC advancement:
Joeph Moon to MC9 (approved), and Martha D. Buetel to MC7.  Two (2) members nominated for Regional Prestige, and one (1) member nominated for National Prestige.  One (1) member at MC9 or higher.
   No Chapter meeting dates included in the report.
   Comments:  "I'd like to thank the RC staff for rolling on the 9/11
prestige.  THANK YOU!
   "I'm sorry to have so many 'unknown member.'  Several members have gotten WW numbers, but without something like the mycam database, I'm stuck waiting on them to et everything to me.
   "I've yet to hear any comments for my open plea for help to the RC
herself in my Jan report.  So with the domain being really inactive, and me feeling like I can't get any help from regional with the problems the chapter has been having since August of 2001, I've gotten really apathetic and think its time for me to step away from the CC role.  Unfortunately, no one else wants it."
   Problems/Question/Comments/Suggestions:
   "Our sincere thanks to the Regional staff for the prompt processing of the request of MC 9 for Joseph Moon (US20020214448).
   "The Chapter has found a new location for the Changeling game.
   "The ongoing search for an indoor Cam/Anarch site has yet to be fulfilled.  Our holy quest is still progressing and we have ruled out the inside of a soda can.
   "Progress is progress.
   "The game held this month went really well and allowed for good social and gaming time.
   "The chapter of Sepulchre called for the domain officers to run for reelection in early March.  It is now May, to domain meetings have been cancelled, and no attempt to handle this re-vote has been handled by the DC"
WWCA-024: Maledorium     Rating: Early, Good
   Chapter has 17 members; four (4) new members, and seven (7) pending
members.  One (1) member currently MC9 or higher.
   Last Chapter meeting April 13, next Chapter meeting May 4.
   Highlights from meeting minutes:  Discussed forming a Domain with other San Diego chapters; want to build better chapter alliances first.  Found a new gaming site.  Desire to build a Chapter Treasury.  Discussed Prestige and what it is used for.  Talked about having more chapter socials.  Chapter is in favor of the "rumored" reset and is in favor of it.
(ARC Note: The MST, Marc Torley says there will be no reset in the foreseeable future.)
Chapter celebrated it's being in Green status, and discussed the Sigils, but did not vote on them at this time.
   Current projects:  Workshops for Combat and Prestige.  Setting up Chapter socials to see "Spider-Man" and "Star Wars: Episode II."  Gathering a membership database.
   Suggestions:  "After the small flame war that erupted after the Chapter ratings came out, I'd like to ask that we work together to devise a system that will leave no one feeling like they were hosed.  This might be asking for the Red Sea to part, but it's worth a shot.  :)"
~~~~~RC Note:  I have asked for suggestions to improve it in the past, I'm still open to suggestions~~~~~

   Comments:  "We'd like to see a new Tome of the Camarilla so that our

members may have this resource to use.  (I do have access to not only a hard copy, but a text file as well.)"

WWCA-025: Monsters Under the Bed     Rating: On-time, Great

   (ARC Note: CC in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)

   Chapter has 19 members; two (2) transferred members, three (3) pending members.  One (1) member nominated for over 100 Prestige; two (2) members nominated for Regional Prestige.  Three (3) members currently MC9 or higher.

   Last Chapter meeting in April 21, next Chapter meeting is May 5.

   Highlights of meeting minutes:  Chapter had a "meet-and-greet" at the beginning of their meeting due to all the new members; Coordinator staff wants to create a "Chapter Packet" to include RPS cards, copies of 5.1, the Tome, and basic details on the Chapter and its functions.  Discussed Cam/Anarch game in May.  Chapter will be trying to add additional venue games to their calendar.  Chapter is hosting a Dark Ages table-top game.

Chapter had a social event making masks for the upcoming May Masque game.

"Much hilarity ensued with the glue-water solution, and the resulting

residue on body parts- don't go there!  Gutter-mind... *grin*"  SW Sigil vote tally lost due to virus on the hard drive; CC did include a list of votes taken at the meeting, further votes will be sent to the RC.

   Current Projects:

   1) Chapter Funds: Funds remaining from Masque event (after expenses are paid) will go into chapter coffers.  CC is concerned the Chapter may not break even.

   2) Website:  Skeleton of new site should be up by next month

   3) Member Packets:  "I need to find someone that I can shamelessly use as a resource for free paper and printer ink and reprographics."

   Comments: "I never knew just how much I depended on my computer for my connection to my chapter members and to this Organization until now- not having a functioning one for as short a time as a week and a half has hindered, destroyed, obliterated or stopped almost all of my typical Coordinator functions.  'You don't know what you've got until it's gone' is the hackneyed cliché' that's been running through my head each time I think of the subject.  Because of the computer issues, there are three members in this month's report who may have partial information, like being listed as 'pending' instead of having membership numbers- they have all told me they sent in cash for memberships, but I haven't been able to keep in touch with them these past weeks to et the numbers from them.  Despite the stall in communications, we're still going to have a truly amazing, kick-ass game next month, and I think for the most part, chapter members are excited, involved, and looking forward to it.  I'm also very happy that the chapter is continuing to grow as new members find a role-playing experience that they wish to share with other friends."

   Problems: CC is waiting for form to go up on the ICC Website to submit names of Chapter members who have not received their ICC 2001 Prestige awards.

   Questions:

   1) Old Items:  ICC 2001 Prestige:  "If I know of work that my chapter members did because I saw them doing it, but they don't have any prestige listed in the ICC awards so far- who do I contact to attempt to rectify that situation?"

   2) New Items: Independent CC Prestige: All outstanding awards made by RC; CC thanks RC and RC Staff for their efforts in satisfying these needs.  Asks that in the future more open communication would help to alleviate the frustration.

   Suggestions:

1) "Chapter Report Format- While I understand and completely support the need for a standardized report format, so that the Regional staff can have access to a chapter's information in the smallest amount of effort and time possible, there has been generous outcry from the Region's Chapter-level coordinators concerning the current system and format.  In watching the discussion on the Regional list, it's struck me that there seems to be an 'Us vs. Them' mentality occurring on both sides of the fence, when in reality, we're all supposed to be here to make one another's duties a little bit easier.  It's obvious that some kind of harmonious middle ground needs to be found.  When it comes to the grading scale and process- I'm not sure how to get there.  I wasn't a supporter of that particular process sin the first place, and so I'm not objective.  But as someone who is A/R enough to be okay with all the spacing and indenting and redundancy in the current report format, I thought it might be helpful to come up with an idea for a format that incorporates both the requests and frustrations of the Coordinators, and the needs of the Regional staff.  I think I found a jumping-off point for middle ground, and I've drafted up a quick template for a new format that I would like to post to the SW-Coord list, with Pete and Sarah's permission, to try to begin some discussion on the topic that will generate results and compromise, rather than argumentative frustration on all sides.  I'm requesting permission from the RC and ARC-Reports- not because I feel it's required but because I don't want it to seem like any kind of personal attack; I simply feel that  attempting to solve the problem pro-actively is going to be more productive than going back and forth in the current fashion."

(ARC Note: I have no objections to seeing what you've drafted, Kimmi.  I would like to point out however, that most of the coordinators did not post any objections to the report format; it was instead a vocal minority – from a numbers standpoint -- that seemed to have problems.  I'm perfectly willing to look at what you have, but keep in mind that most of the changes to the report format are dictated by parties higher up than us.)

~~~~~RC Note:  I would prefer that you send it to Pete and I privately first.  When I first mentioned changing the chapter report format to a few of my superiors, I was told to make sure to not change too much in the format because that will make it difficult for folks like Jim Baylock and others that read all the reports from all the Regions.  I'm willing to do my best.~~~~~
CA-026: Histum Yani     [Report late: 05/7/02]     Rating: Late, Poor
   (ARC Note: CC in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
   Chapter currently has 11 members; one (1) new member, two (2) transferred members.  (ARC Note: This number may not be acccurate; it was derived from the Membership listing section.)
   Last Chapter meeting April 24, next Chapter meeting May 8.
   Highlights of meeting minutes:  "Briefing on next meeting, and discussion about chapter being in the black.  Set up of social event on Saturday, 27APR2002 at Boundy's residence.  Discussed needing a new Story Teller by 30JUN2002."
WWCA-028: La Maison du Sanguinaire     Rating: Late, Mediocre
   (ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
   Chapter has 20 members; three (3) pending members.   One (1) member
nominated for Regional Prestige.  Chapter treasury is empty.
   Last Chapter meeting not included; next Chapter meeting May 11.
   Current Projects:  Increase Chapter membership by advertising the club at local college and game stores.  Mary Wior has mirrored the old Website and is collecting online files (5.1 rules supplement, etc.).  Increase attendance at games.
   Comments:  "Most people have either dropped from the role or obtained their new number. Several members from the pending group have not as yet used the temp numbers to transfer their membership and I plan to help them resolve that. Currently another chapter seems to be forming about 30 miles from LMDS and there has been talk of forcing them to join a Domain. I posted a rebuttal to someone on the Coordinators list and got no response. I do not want to be ignored since this affects my chapter and the Camarilla as a whole."
~~~~~RC Note: I read everything on the matter that I received, which included yours.  Jim Baylock and I conversed about Sangria de Lago, and it was determined they would remain an Independent Chapter once they were approved.  Once their probationary period is over, they are more than welcome to join a domain if they wish, or form one if they find another chapter nearby that wants to.~~~~~

   Questions:  "How can a chapter move from one city to another 30 miles away? How can Domains encompass three counties when the Tome declares domains based on Cities?  Why was my response ignored?"

~~~~~RC Note:  a chapter's address can change for any number of
reasons..Change of CC, loss of current chapter address, more accommodating to the majority membership of the Chapter.
"A domain is a geographically-based administrative body formed to coordinate the efforts of multiple chapters in the same area."  -The Tome.  The tome doesn't specify city, though it is recommended to only cover a city or metropolitan area.  The former domain in AZ included the entire state within its boundaries. As far as your response goes.  It was not ignored.  I read all the emails on the matter, and discussed it with Jim Baylock.  I'm sorry you felt your comments needed response that wasn't granted.~~~~~
   Chapter has 16 members; one (1) transferred member, and one (1) pending member.  Two (2) members are pending MC advancement: Greg Berry (9808-078) to MC6 and Dan Heitner (US2002021850) to MC5.  One (1) member nominated for over 100 Prestige.  Thirteen (13) members nominated for Regional Prestige.
   Last Chapter meeting April 13, next Chapter meeting May 11.
   Highlights of meeting minutes:  CST has stepped down effective
immediately; new CST voted in.  SW Sigil vote taken.  Game location rules reviewed.
   "It has been recommended that CC's start including what sort of social interaction their chapter has outside of game.  Aside from Derrick, Eben, and myself, all of my chapter members live with another chapter member.  ALso, they all live within one square mile of each other.  This leads to a whole lot of non-game related interaction.  It's a strange time where I or any of my members goes more than a week without seeing each other.  On average, various groups will have dinner with each other I'd guess at least twice a week.  We play games, see movies, and hang out.  This is unlikely to change.  I really can't claim any sort of credit for this, but you did say you wanted to know what we did as a chapter "In addition to that, we regularly attend Anathema's monthly Changeling and Sabbat games, and Lompoc's Sabbat game."
   Current Projects:  Assisting the Lompoc chapter; starting Changeling and Cam/Anarch venue games.
   Problems:  "In the report I'm listed as still being in non-compliance with having completed my ordeals.  I've heard that they've waived that requirement.  Correct me if I'm wrong."
(ARC Note: WW has currently suspended the Ordeals requirement, not waived it.  Their intention is to reinstate the Ordeals at some point, but we have been asked to continue tracking those officers who are not incompliance with the standards as specified in the Tome; hence the inclusion of that information in my report.)
   Questions:  "Greg, our former CST, has accumulated enough prestige to gain an MC of 6.  I don't know who this goes up the chain to, but as far as I know, as an independent chapter, we have no DC to review the records."
(ARC Note: Submit the Prestige log to Mica Simonain at prestige@camarilla-sw.org)
   "Attending our chapter meeting was Brndan Hutt of Anathema.  He also
voted on the Sigil.  I've emailed his DC and CC with this information.
bounced."
Regional Prestige.  Two (2) members are MC9 or higher.  Chapter treasury contains $20.00 dollars.
   Last Chapter meeting March 5 & April 14, next Chapter meeting TBD.
   Highlights of meeting minutes:  March 5: "Elected Ryan Stucker as CC.
Chapter discussed the issue of membership with the Domain of Los Angeles.  Discussed holding a garou campout at the end of April."
   April 14:  "Verified all members have new numbers and Reminded all members to give me New numbers to me.  Reminded all members of Sigil Vote, and began to take votes."
   Current Projects:  "The chapter has no current projects for this time."
   Questions:  "When Will our *C meeting take Place for the Domain?  There was a brief message suggesting one for the beginning of this month, but I haven't seen anything yet.
   "When will we be able to take the ordeals again, and are they changing?
(I.E. should I finish what I have and wait for the word to send, or wait for a change of ordeals?)
CA-032: Chateau Gaumont de Nuite Eternalle     Rating: Early, Good
   Chapter has 16 members.  Chapter has two (2) members at MC9 or higher.
   Last Chapter meeting April 7, next Chapter meeting May 5.
   Highlights of meeting minutes:  New CC and CST elected.  Chapter
discussed fund-raising ideas to raise money to host Rio Sangre III.
Interest is down for the Twilight Walk for Wishes charity event this year.
   Current Projects:  Finishing cards for the "Sabbat survival kit,"
updating the Web site, and printing the next edition of the Chapter
newsletter.
   Problems:  "There is a mjor problem in this chapter at this time.  There is a division of people who are not getting along with others.  The conflict resolution process has been attempted several times but this process only works if the people involved believe it can all work out.  So far it has not.  It has driven a wedge between people who once laughed and played together.  Many people involved in this play to start a new chapter.  I do not disagree with there reasons.
   "Sometimes when people can't come to a sense of trust with others or that trust has been betrayed it take space to heal these wounds.
   "However I have scheduled one more meeting to see if I can get these two parties to come to a resolution.  If it can not be reached this Sunday, I do not believe there will be a question weather this chapter will lose some of its members to a newly formed one.
   "Next problem is there a problem with white wolf Member services.  Do they even read the requests that get sent to them?  I've got a CST in my chapter who has been trying to get trough to these people for TWO months.  Every week he and I send these people E-mail stating the nature of our problem and neither of us ever get a response.
~~~~~RC Note:  if the problem is not under their purview, they will not respond, as they are quite busy from what I understand.  Generally they will send it to which it falls under but things fall through the cracks.  Is the problem something that the Steering committee and Member Services should be handling, or would it be better suited going elsewhere?~~~~~

   "Other than a general lack of sleep over problem #1 I have started to find my grove in this whole CC thing."

   Questions:  "Where does someone go to request the packet for starting a new chapter?

~~~~~RC Note:  new chapter packets aren't being sent out at current, as far as I can recall.  If you are wanting information on how to form a new chapter, that information is included in the Tome~~~~~
Are the old Ordeals still good or are we now waiting for WW to come up with new ones?
~~~~~RC Note:  Ordeals are currently suspended.  If I understand things correctly, the Steering committee is supposed to be re-vamping the ordeals, but I will be double checking on this~~~~~

   Suggestions:  "If this chapter does split into two parts I would like the new Sacramento Chapter Approved for probationary status as soon as possible.  I harbor no ill will towards any of these parties, they are all my friends and I just want them to be happy.  Sean Alexander is currently working on an appeal that is tied to these parties.  I do not feel this is something that is going to be over with a simple ruling.  I will keep you posted as to the out come of the final resolution meeting."

WWCA-033: The Dragons Coils     Rating: Early, Good

   (ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)

   Chapter has 10 members.  One (1) member eligible for MC advancement:

Chris Cornish (US2002034913).  One (1) member nominated for Regional

Prestige.  One (1) member nominated for National Prestige.  Chapter treasury contains $20.00 dollars.

   Last Chapter meeting April 27, next Chapter meeting May 25.

   Highlights from meeting minutes:  New CC elected; existing CST

re-elected.  Alternative game sites are being discussed and reviewed,

including Winter sites.  All members but two have renewed their memberships.  Recruitment efforts being discussed.  Current DC is stepping down; Domain may not be listed on WW site.  Chapter will be scheduling the Food Bank for charity efforts.  Garou game now twice per month.

   Current projects: Six-month elections held.  Charity work with the SF Food Bank.  Looking for additional game sites and possible winter sites.

   Comments:  "Apathy, burn out, or just lack of time?  Call it what you will, we've got it.  Well, most of us at any rate.  When the chapter first started we were all new to the Cam and had lots of energy to devote to it.  As time goes on I see this less and less within the Chapter and definitely within myself.  For a lot of us its simply that other real life concerns like a job, children, etc need to take priority over recreational activities.  Most of us a lot busier now.  This has been causing us to focus on the basics: Garou, charity work, getting reports turned in on time.

It also means that most of us are not able to participate on more than a chapter level, and this isn't really helping out the viability of our

Domain.  -- just rambling."

   Suggestions: "It might be a good idea to update the sw-regions web site version of the chapter status report which currently says the reports should be sent to sw-reports@camarilla.superb.net."

~~~~~RC Note:  I have just hired a new ARC Web so that the website could get the updates it sorely needs.  Things should start happening soon~~~~~
   (ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
   Chapter has 16 members; one (1) transferred member, and two (2) pending members. Three (3) members nominated for more than 100 Prestige.  Three (3) members qualify for MC advancement: Mike McGough (US2002021192) and Bryan York (US2002022330) to MC3, and Matt Costa (US2002021172) to MC6.  One (1) member currently MC9 or higher.
   Last Chapter meeting April 7, next Chapter meeting May 5.
   Highlights of meeting minutes:  Discussion of Chapter Charter, positions and issues.  Duties of the CC and CST were reviewed, and members decided to "scrap" the existing Charter until there are more members in the Chapter to necessitate it.  Chapter has condensed their schedule to facilitate traveling to other Chapter's games.  Chapter will begin giving out an award to members who advance in MC "to recognize the person's contribution to the organization."  Reviewed Chapter reporting format, Prestige reporting and projects the Chapter wants to keep.  Discussed recruiting and where to post flyers.
   Current Projects:  "Little House" charity activity: "We're planning on doing another major cleaning.  The last month during the game we ended up having to clean a lot more before the game than expected.  We're getting 2 new garbage cans with liners for the inside of the house to replace the rotted though paint barrels they have been using.  This upcoming month is our curtain hanging (we've made curtains for the Windows), another washing and oiling of the walls, and a thorough cleaning of the bathroom, kitchen area and floors."  Reports on Chapter games and socials included.
   Problems:
1. "December 2001 - February 2002, Ronni Eloff was part of the Requiem Team, led by Sandy and John Duda.  On February 1st the version was ready for Printers, however, due to the NPO collapsing within days of the schedule to be printed, the team was left stranded.  On March 2002 a letter was drafted to Lisa Charlton containing all the staff names and an electronic copy of the Requiem that was going to go to the printers.  A request for Prestige for those who were -Staff positions- and those who had contributed to the Requiem was requested.  As of yet, no answer has been provided."
"An invisible header that shows a time zone issue difference was used to judge whether or not a SW Report was filed on time, instead of using the posted time provided by White Wolf Servers that is called the 'Date' on the post.  It has been requested that a standard for how reports are judge on time.  And that the 'Date stamp that WW attaches to the post be the standard'"
~~~~~RC Note:  The WW server stamp is on EST, for Georgia, where the servers are located.   I am working with Pete to set up something more accommodating, but for now, it is based on MST (i.e. what time it is in Utah).  That's only an hour's difference for California and Nevada, which is better than 3 hours difference with the WW stamp (which means to ensure arrival by midnight in Georgia, you would have to send it before 9pm PST)~~~~~

3. "Unable to validate any prestige earned by any SST/SA/GSA/ due to a password on the Prestige Records."

~~~~~email me privately at southwestrc@hotmail.com for the username/password to this site~~~~~
4. "An email to the RC from David Barry, Former ARC Newsletter dated March 16th concerning prestige recommendations did not produce an award or make it into the April report by the RC for the region.  No explanation was provided either.  Did the letter arrive to the RC?"
~~~~~RC Note:  Emails tend to get buried.  I apologize for missing the award.  If you check the Regional awards in Part 1, you will see it awarded.~~~~~

5. "Unable to get renewal information from WW since it is unclear now when someone expires due to the extension and transfer over.  Defaulted to old method for determining renewal.  Makes it hard to fulfill complete report."

(ARC Note: Expiration date will be two years from when your members transferred from the NPO to WW.  For example, if your member has a number which begins with "200202," their expiration will be 02/2004.  Also, you can award them an Early Renewal Prestige award in the month they renew, and then next year in the month of their anniversary.)

6. "Unable to get Ordeals information or become compliant with no ordeals to take.  Makes it hard to fulfill complete report."

(ARC Note: Ordeals are not currently required to hold positions.  We continue to track Ordeals compliance/non-compliance however, as WW has indicated that they will reinstate Ordeals at some time in the future. Being in non-compliance currently will have no detrimental effects on the Chapter.)

7. Concerns over the number of changes made between the January Report

Format and the February Report Format, including:  "Will we be docked for including more than what the format has listed?"

 (ARC Note: Nope)

   Questions:

1. Concerns over the difference between "recommended," "nominated," and "awarded" Prestige.

 (ARC Note: Ronni, don't get hung up on the semantics between the words "nominated" and "recommended;" they are essentially the same thing.  As for when it becomes an award, while it's a bit out of my authority, I would say, from reading the Tome, that it becomes an award when it appears in the CC's report, as the CC is directly responsible for awarding Prestige and can decline any nominations from other officers.)

~~~~~RC Note: Recommended and Nominated are virtually the same thing.  They are awards from someone who doesn't have the authority to award prestige, this amount can be altered to the whim of the supervising Coord.  (i.e.  the RST recommends on average 25 prestige for his ARSTs.  Since he is an ST, and the award is Regional, it is ultimately my decision to allow that amount, but because I trust him to properly recommend prestige, I go with his recommendations for them in my report.)  Awarded prestige is prestige given to a member by someone with the authority to award that prestige.  (i.e. you submit something ot the regional newsletter, I award you 8 Regional for the article, based on my ARC's recommendation, as I am authorized as RC to award Regional Prestige)~~~~~
2. How to report back-dated Prestige within the new report format.
(ARC Note: Report it as normal, included with current month's Prestige, but show it dated with the "back" date so it does not affect monthly caps.)
   Suggestions:  Concerns over the format of reports, the standards used for measuring report compliance, and Prestige for Yahoo Groups moderators.  As the comments were rather lengthy, I do not include them here, but refer you to the original report.
   Comments:  "From the Chapter members:  I was wondering, even though our group is in 'poor standing' ((even though this group, from what I’ve seen has less backstabbing and more community than other groups I’ve played with))and only has a couple of games a month ((even though the games are of good quality, balanced, and allow us to visit those who come to visit us))
   "I don't know if anyone's said anything about it, but thanks for everything you're doing.  I know I really appreciate it (and so does Jenn).
   "The Report for information took (Part I -- 3 hours, Part 2 - 6 Hours not including 3 request to get prestige information)
WWCA-036: Void Ascending     Rating: Early, Mediocre
   (ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
   Chapter currently has 13 members; three (3) pending members.  One (1) member, Steve Koontz (US2002022490) passed the Ordeal of Narration this month.
   Last chapter meeting was March 22, next chapter meeting TBD in May.
   Current Projects: None.
   Comments: Sigil vote tally included
   Problems:  "None, but the CST problem has finally been solved."
   No other Questions/Suggestions/Concerns included in the report.
WWCA-037: Twilight Cathedral     Rating: Early, Good
   Chapter has 43 members; 12 transferred member, four (4) new members.
Three (3) members are pending MC Advancement: Kelly Pohl (2002023229) and Eric Silveria (2002021330) to MC5; and Curtis Wilkins (2001-07-042) to MC4.
Chapter Treasury contains $106.25 dollars.
   Last Chapter meeting was Marcy 29, next Chapter meeting TBD in April.
   Highlights of meeting minutes:
   1. Chapter voted in $5.00/month dues, "Not that that will stop anyone's bitching."
   2. Explained April deadline for membership transfer has been extended to May 1.
   3. Elected finance committee to oversee Chapter expenditures.
   4. Discussed finding a new site.
   5. Cleared up rumors about the sale of the Gauntlet.
   6. Discussed the split of Twilight Cathedral and subsequent formation of new Domain.  Update: "The new Chapter is formed.  Slights and insults have been directed at Twilight Cathedral, it's members, and it's staff.  All very careful to avoid mentioning anyone by name or using profanity, all careful to make sure that I understand that I'm being insulted to my face OFF of Cam time, so there's nothing anyone can do about it.  This has come from several individuals, not just one.
   "We discussed this at the Chapter Meeting, and voted unanimously to
decline any offer to form a Domain with the new chapter."
   Current Projects:  Chapter is soliciting ideas for a new game site that will be "large enough, nice enough, and affordable enough to replace the current site; no luck yet.
   Regarding the Chapter split: "Actually, it's impossible to avoid problems when chapters split as we have done.  I have nothing positive, constructive, or helpful to report in this regard so I will leave it at this – The membership of Twilight Cathedral has voted overwhelmingly to not pursue the formation of a Domain with the new Chapter."
   Problems:
   "This section left intentionally blank."
   Comments:
   "Please note that several prestige listings contain backdated items that were either not reported in time for proper inclusion or were earned prior to the member receiving their membership number. These items are dated in the list for when they were earned."
   No other Questions/Suggestions/Comments in the report.
WWCA-038: In the Shaodows of a Saint     [Report late: 05/06/02]     Rating:
Late, Poor
   Chapter has 19 members.  Chapter treasury contains $2.00.
   Last Chapter meeting December 21, 2002, next Chapter meeting TBD.
   Current Projects:  Getting members' WW numbers and contact information.
   Problems:  "Greg Leavitt (2001-06-016) has lost his new WW number.  How do we obtain it?"
   No other Comments/Suggestions/Questions in the report.
WWCA-PEND: A Clockwork Eternal     Rating: Early, Good
   Chapter has 14 members; one (1) pending member.  One (1) member qualifies for MC advancement: Jay Jackson (2002021392).  One (1) member earned over 100 Prestige this month.  One (1) member, Jay Jackson (US2002021392) passed an unspecified Ordeal this month.
   Last Chapter meeting April 10, next Chapter meeting May 5.
   Highlights of meeting minutes:  Casino Night Game on April 14.  Chapter is discussing possible charity activities.  Also discussed possibility of having a quarterly game with Twilight Cathedral.
   Current Projects:  Location for second game.  Creating a Chapter logo and Web site.  Chapter By-Laws submitted to Jim Baylock and SW-RC.
   Problems:
   1. "I have attempted to offer to sit down with Eric Silvera the CC for Twilight Cathedral to ensure that both our chapter try to work together.  As of this Date he has not made any contact.  His last report, seems to show that the TWC chapter is working against ours, and this could lead to problems that our chapter does not wish.
   "We will be looking at some ways to try and mend the fences of sort in the coming weeks.  By offering to put together a social for all to get together our of game and get to know each other.  This is something I think really needs to happen.
   2. "I arranged for a meeting of my CST and the TWC CST.  They have worked out the details on the ST side of things.  The Rest is for his report.
   3. "The chapter met and talked about the current lack of activity on the part of the CST.  The chapter feels that he has not lived up to his end of promises to the chapter, and also seems to lack some follow through.  I have spoken with him, about this issue and have also counseled him regarding what is expected from him.  The chapter will be meeting the 1st weekend of May to make a final determination of this issue."
   Questions:  "When will the coordinators hand book be coming out.  I know that there was one almost completed before the change over."
~~~~~RC Note:  If I recall correctly there is one in the works on the

National level, Shawn Jackson, my ARC Mentor, is also working on a

Coordinators Handbook.~~~~~

   Suggestions:  "While I hear back from the ARC's on different parts of my report, I would like to hear back from the RC as to what she feels is missing, or ask me questions regarding my chapter and it's members.  While I can provide a brief report on the chapter, I know at times that there might be questions that I did not think to answer that the RC or her staff wishes to know.  I am happy to respond to such things if asked."

~~~~~RC Note:  Mostly what I want to see in chapter reports are any questions you might have about things, things you would like to see changed or improved (including preferably suggestions on how to improve it), issues you have, etc.  I want to help you as a Coord to do your job better.  I can't help if I don't know how to.  If I don't know where you need help, or advice~~~~~
   Comments:  "Spencer Bailey and Katie O'brion were both married on April 27, 2002 in a very wonderful ceremony.  Several of the chapter members were in attendance.  We wish them the best on their honeymoon to Monterey, Ca.
   "Twilight Cathedral currently runs games on the 1st and 3rd sunday and the 2nd and 4th Fridays.  This is making it hard for use to pick game dates for the chapter.  The chapter wishes to run two games a month, but one of those dates would be the 3rd Sunday.  I have spoken with both Eric Silvera the CC and James Jones the CST.  To date I have not heard back."
   No other Concerns included in the report.
WWCA-Pending: Sangria De Lago     Rating: Early, Good
   (ARC Note: Chapter below minimum membership requirements.)
   Chapter currently has 9 members; four (4) new members.  Two (2) members are pending MC advancement: Shane Downey (US2002021486) and Victoria Buchanan (US2002021485) to MC2.  Nine (9) members nominated for Regional Prestige.
   Last Chapter meeting April 12, next Chapter meeting May 10.
   Highlights of meeting minutes:  Discussed Prestige, and Prestige-worthy activities.  Discussed non-members and how long they are allowed to attend games without being a member.  Discussed pros and cons of dues; will be charging $2.00 per game, to be used for events, refreshments, etc.  Reviewed proposed Chapter Constitution, voted on and adopted by members.
   Current Project:  Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House charity.  Two social events are being organized around the release of Spiderman and Star Wars.
   Problems:  "Unfortunately a know-it-all is sproutin gup in our membership.  This member is giving advice to other members and mostly is wrong.  We are working on getting him to pass along the question to one of the primary officers unless he is absolutely sure of his answer and can back it up with proof."
   Questions:  "Victoria Buchanan claims she took the National survey that was offered a while ago.  Her name was not on the list of those who received the National Prestige.  Is there any way to find out if she took it and if not then what should be done?"
   Comments:  "Please do not force us into a domain where the nearest chapter is 30.5 miles away and too long of a commute for members to be interested.  Give us time to get on our feet and choose to form a domain or not."
~~~~~RC Note: No worries, I have spoken with Jim Baylock on the matter, and we have decided that once approved, your chapter will be an independent chapter, until after your probationary period, at which point you may choose to join BMK, form a new domain, or remain independent if you so choose.~~~~~

   Chapter currently has 16 members; six (6) new members, and 10 transferred members.  Five (5) members are pending MC advancement: James Webster

(US2002021376) to MC8; Louis Somers (US2002035112) to MC2; Isaac Avery

(US2002023567) to MC5; Soren Thompson (US2002023176) to MC3, and Joseph Hale (US2002034961) to MC6.  Four (4) members nominated for more than 100 Prestige.  Eight (8) members nominated for Regional Prestige.  One (1) member nominated for National Prestige.  One (1) member passed the Ordeal of the Stage this month.

   Date of last Chapter meeting not in the report; next Chapter meeting

April 28.

   Highlights of meeting minutes:  Discussed possible charity activities (Breast Cancer walks, Food drives for children/senior center, Habitat for Humanity).  Venue ideas to "flesh out" Sabbat and other venues; possible cross-venue Sabbat, Anarch, Mortal game.  Discussion of forming a venue with Chateau Gaumont.  Looking for a game site; something different from where Moonlight Masquerade holds their games.  Chapter office terms established; 6-month time established to give everyone a chance at the job if they want it.  Chapter symbol for sign-in sheets decided upon; will be Roman number "IIII" instead of V4P.

~~~~~RC Note:  the Roman numeral for the number 4 is IV not IIII, so you know ;) ~~~~~
   Current Projects:  Drafting the Chapter Charter.  Working on a Venue Style Sheet.  Setting up for first game on May 25.  Chapter social on April 21.
   Problems:  "This section intentionally left blank."
   Questions:  "I have some members that sent ordeals in and with the change over, there is no place currently that processes them.  Could we find out where they have gone to from the NPO.
~~~~~RC Note: all previous ordeals are lost.  If you have a copy of the previously submitted ordeal, along with proof of payment you can send it to Chuck Childers at chuck.childers@attbi.com, or via mail at 10506 90th Ave SW, Lakewood, WA 98498-3721.  He is not grading new Ordeals, so do not send them to him.~~~~~

   "Also, I have had members ask about membership renewal if they joined WW, do they receive the 50 early renewal bonus?"

(ARC Note: The early renewal bonus is given to any member who transferred their membership to WW from the NPO.  They also get the bonus next year on the anniversary of their transfer.)

6.  CURRENT ISSUES

   Wow!  I am so impressed and want to congratulate ALL the coordinators in the Region for their stellar performance with the reports this month.  So many more of them arrived early or on-time, and the vast majority were much improved over previous months.  Even though there's been a lot of heartache over reports, you guys really pulled it together, and I cannot thank you enough -- especially since this was a hellacious month for me personally.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

7.  PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

   None that I am aware of at this time.

8.  QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

   Gosh, what a month.  It's been a stressful one for me, personally, professionally and Cam-wise.  All that has been major factors in this report being so late (I'm so sorry Sarah).  I've had some high-profile projects thrust at me at work that I was not prepared to deal with (insufficient training and tight deadlines).  We're also in the middle of the "home buying experience," and that's been a major time and emotion drainer.  Then, add to that all the OC/IC crossover BS that's been going on locally in the last three weeks (with me at the center -- that's the LAST time I'll take Praxis), and I've been lucky to have time to breathe.

   But here's the report, warts and all.  I hope there are not any mistakes in here; if there are, I apologize profoundly in advance.  They are purely unintentional and are the result of my not having enough free time to give this a thorough going-over before I submit it.

   Here's hoping next month will be better!

Current Projects:

The March/April 2002 issue of the Eternal Times Regional Newsletter is delayed longer than expected. This is due to certain assignments not turned in on time. These include artwork and two columns. Because of this delay, we are going to make this coming issue the May/June 2002 issue.

Regardless of what has been turned in or not, we will make sure that the newsletter is ready by the end of this month. Though I am trying to get a good range of the region represented within the newsletter authors, but doing so may make publishing time later.

At the moment, we are just finishing out artwork and layout. I will upload another comp later this week for review on this group's file section.

Recently, I have received a login for the SWR website so uploading may not necessarily be a problem anymore. More details will be forthcoming if there are anymore problems.

==============================

Problems:

With late submissions, the newsletter is being delayed, as noted in the above section. This problem will be resolved by the end of the month.

Specifically, I am in need of two columns written and artwork for some of the various articles and stories. I will be assigning these last details to someone and have th artwork taken care of.

1.  SUMMARY

Had a few reviews for Independent members. I’ve really had to evaluate what the criteria is for allowing members to go Independent. Most of those who apply do so for very poor and wrong reasons, IE jumping the Coordinator or ST chain.

2.  OUTSTANDING ISSUES

Darcy Anastasia still has yet to get me her prestige records, which has postponed her transferal to the Domain of Los Angeles from Independent Status.

I’m currently reviewing the application of Member Christi Lawson-Bernake, I have not yet made a ruling on her transferring to Outreach at this time.

3.  CURRENT PROJECTS

I'm reviewing and watching over the following pending chapters Sangria DeLago Sins of the Father, and A Clockwork Eternal. I will be looking over this month’s chapter reports and continuing with their probationary status.

1.  SUMMARY

As expected, this has been a busy month. I have five issues currently in the works, with smaller sub-issues pending or tossed back and forth between different offices.  The largest issue is the most messy. I leave it to the discretion of the RC to determine how much of this report does not violate the confidence of those issues, and is suitable for public reporting.

5.  QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

A. Under aged participation.

    I've been informed of possible age-limit violations. I intend to look into this in conjunction with an official Complaint that may be in the wings soon. Since the legal health of the club is directly related to the club's relationship to under aged children, and their participation of club lists and at club functions, this is serious.

    No one wants to be the heavy, and no one wants to tell a seventeen year old that their eighteen-year old buddies can play, but not them. However, this is a policy decision upheld by the club under its previous and current management, and any coordinator who is knowingly allowing or encouraging under aged participation at their events will be severely reprimanded.

    This warning is a public service announcement to check your books, and be very, very sure of whom’s on them.

1. SUMMARY

A busy month, as usual.  I fell behind (as expected) for a couple of weeks while I finished up some other projects, but I've caught up.

I start a new job tomorrow which will involve lots of overtime to meet deadlines and little, if any, internet access to do reviews, so I plan on enlisting help from time to time.  I have yet to decide whether or not I will be hiring an "assistant" so much as a random member here and there to give opportunities to those who may not have the time to dedicate as an assistant or what have you.  I think I'll wait it out until I'm settled into my new job to make that call.

This month I denied two reviews.  The specifics of one the RC is already aware of and an appeal has been filed.  The other, no verifications were supplied over a two-month period.  I simply asked that the log be resubmitted when then member had the time to compile the necessary verifications.

I've also completed the 9/11 and Sigil recommendations.  I will be sending the 9/11 directly to national, CC'ing the RC.  Reason being, I do not want any confusion in regards to my report and the recommended prestige.  I would hate for the membership to assume that the recommendation has been approved with this report, which sadly isn't true, but I will supply a list of the approved totals as soon as I hear it is approved.  The Sigil votes recommendations, notes, and final tallies will be supplied in the new "MISC ITEMS" category I have added to my report.  I will be containing recommendations for events and CC/DC awards in this section for the RC.

2. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

The member who was denied MC advance file an appeal the same day.  It has been almost a month since that time and the member in question and myself are curious as to what is to happen next?  Is anything needed of us, etc?

~~~~~RC Note:  I am currently reviewing the information and both sides.  Now that I'm getting back on track with RC stuff, I'll be much more willing and able to deal with this.  I'm working on it, really! ;) ~~~~~
SWRE 2003
Reviewed the Arizona Spring 2003 bid this week and they need to know by the end of this month (May) if they got it or not as the hotel needs to clear the space if it's not accepted. I will be putting out a call today for Spring 2003 bids, deadline is May 31st. I am not sure that is enough time (2 weeks) for other Chapters/Domains in their bids- but they can also go for the Fall bid as well. Thoughts?
SF Masque Ball
This past Saturday was the SF C/A Court/Masque, which was really nice.
A group of us from LA attended to spread the word (IC and OOC) about our upcoming June 15th event (Summer Court) and many people at the event commented how great it was to meet with others from the region.
It's always been my opinion that we need more events hosted by domains and promoted to the region for attendance.  I am thrilled that SF, LA, and SLC have events on the horizon, and that Arizona has their bid in for Spring 2003. Things are only going to get better!!!
2. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS
A. Arc-Web (repeat)
Need an ARC Web so we can start promoting all these cool events and building banners/ad creative!
Added: Sean Alexander has a GREAT ad he has created that I am circulating to other domains/regional websites and the WW Cam site.
B. Ball 2000 prestige
I am thrilled that Mica is working on the 2000 Ball prestige to audit the levels, which are clearly in violation of the Tome award level for regional events- which cap at 50 for the Conventions category. This includes *all* work done for the event (including fundraising, admin, donated items, etc)- as it all is covered under 'Conventions' and by trying to break it down into other categories, I feel this is a blatent abuse of our prestige system.
C. Regional Event Status
Since I have been asked quite a bit lately about granting 'regional status' to events in the SW, here is my take on what qualifies as a 'Regional Event'.
>From the Tome:
"Regional and national prestige is only awarded when the supervising coordinator has commissioned an activity or project or when a successful local effort was expanded to include the entire region or nation." ~ Tome 2001
"Example 5: The RC is the presiding event coordinator: At the request of a Regional Coordinator, a domain hosts a regional event. The Assistant Domain Coordinator puts many hours into planning the successful event: 25 regional prestige for the ADC with the potential for an exceptional service award for the month of the event-based on participation and level of success." ~ Tome 2001
As an example, while the Utah Midsummer faire may involve members participating from outside their domains, I still don't see it involving the whole region, and that includes the staff as well as in the people attending. And this is being put on mainly by their own Domain officers, and coming to the regional staff in the hopes of making it a regional event.
Of course, I am also a huge believer in being able to provide more opportunities for members of our region to garner Regional Prestige for their added involvement and exposure to other domains/chapters and for membership advancement. So, taking that into consideration, it is my opinion and proposal that if a local chapter/domain event (after the
fact) is seen as having a nice attendance from around the region versus just their local area, then they can petition my office for regional prestige but submitting a list of members attending, etc. to garner this 'upgrade' in prestige. I would then send my recommendation to the RC for approval.
3. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS
