Questions and Concerns
A. Personal Questions, Concerns, Comments.
The Results are in. Here's the final selection for the Regional Sigil (How to I make sure it's ok to use the Camarilla symbol/sigil/logo for our sigil?) http://www.camarilla-sw.org/sigils/images/CamSigil1.jpg
http://www.camarilla-sw.org/sigils/images/CamSigil2.jpg
Been under quite a bit of stress over the MC Policy. Had to step back and realize that just because someone said Regional, didn't mean they were criticizing/attacking me personally.
Goals:
Get www.camarilla-sw.org up to full speed again.
Increase MC Audit turn around time
Develop Alpha Draft of Chapter Transfer Policy for SW Region Put out application call for ARC: Events (we'll miss you Wendy!) Get SWRE on track and reporting Work on addition/addendum to the MC Policy, clarifying it Develop the Coordinator Tracking Utility into an Online Database.
Lots to do!
Issues:
The chapter in Japan. What's going on with it. I want to be able to help the CC out, but I have no information to give him as far as who awards him CC prestige, who is recommending his CSTs prestige, what lists he needs to be on, etc..
I'd like to get some answer to give him other than "It's being discussed."
As I've stated before, I have no problem with his chapter being in SW Region whatsoever, and I'm even willing to handle a Military chapter, similar to 4 winds.(Hawaii doesn't have a chapter and I'm betting Maui would rock as an IC location ::grin:: )
Due to the fact that his report ended up on my reports list, and my ARC:
Reports did the summary and rating for it, and my ARC Prestige recommended him for prestige. I'm going to go ahead and include it, and if someone higher up wants to smack it down, then fine, but at least that way, I don't feel bad for leaving the guy hanging.
Thanks:
Many, many thanks to Ronni Eloff for re-vamping and updating the SW Regional Website.
The site is now one of the most updated and current around.(we can as of this moment boast that we have a more current and correct contact list for the National folks, than their websites are) She is the greatest, and lots of appreciation for it.

Chapter has 23 members; one (1) pending member. Five (5) members qualified for MC advancement: Lee Branson to MC3; Maryanne Schrader to MC6; Stephanie Hall and Luci Horton to MC7, and Mike Meyer to MC8. One (1) member nominated for more than 100 Prestige. Chapter treasury contains $114.50 dollars.

Current Projects: "Currently trying to stabilize chapter and boost chapter morale. Congrats are in order for Maggie and Aaron they had a baby girl Wednesday June 26 7lb 13oz 19 ¼ inches Kate Alexandra Sturtz!!!!!!"
Kenneth (CC): "Nothing has really happened this month except for me taking over the position of CC for a month or until the original CC felt better after having a baby. Talked to Phil Bernacke about changing chapters soon and was told that he was going to look for a chapter. There are personal problems between a couple of members which should be resolved very soon. Luci Horton stepped down from her positions so we will be looking for someone to take over with the chapter web page."
Natalia ACC: "Found game site for the next two months for games"
Mike ACC: "I feel that the we have audits under control finally and even getting the member advancements taken care of timely, thanks to Mica our ARC prestige she has done a wonderful job, she works closely with me, or the members I turn in, to review our audits and complete them in a timely manner."
Luci ACC: "Stepped down so she will not reporting anymore."
Chris ACC: "As ACC transportation, I have been coordinating rides to/from games/events and many times using my own vehicle."
Aaron ACC: "I am currently taking care of my girlfriend after her giving birth and also taking care of my child."
Josh ACC: "The chapter currently has approximately $114.50 in funds."
Dan ACC: "No one was hurt during this month."
Problems, Suggestions, Questions: "There are some current issues between members that are going to the mediation stage, with a neutral arbitrator.
If this doesn't resolve their issues further action will be taken."
No other Concerns in the report.
AZ-004: Nightshift Rating: On-time, Mediocre
Chapter has 37 members. Two (2) members recommended for over 100 Prestige; two (2) members nominated for National Prestige.
Last Chapter meeting June 6, next chapter meeting first or second Thursday in July.
Current Projects: Ongoing food, clothing and recycling drives will continue for the foreseeable future. "Cheese Fest" rescheduled for July 6 due to OWBN conclave.
Problems/Questions/Suggestions: "Still working on getting all the new membership numbers from my chapter, everyday I seem to get a little closer...sometimes getting players do something is very frustrating."
~~~~~RC Note: as stated on sw-coord list, I now have the membership roster for the SW Region, I can supply WW Cam #s as needed.~~~~~
No other Comments in the report.
AZ-005: Tithe of Souls Rating: Early, Good
(ARC Note: CC in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
Chapter has 25 members; one (1) transferred member. Five (5) members recommended for more than 100 Prestige.
Chapter treasury contains $1059.57.
Last Chapter meeting June 2, next Chapter meeting July 7.
Highlights of meeting minutes:
1. Copies of Prestige logs distributed for review and update.
2. No new updates on the Domain issue at this time: "Charles is still waiting on copies of the original dissolution paperwork from the former domain so we ca fight the new Domain proposal so it will not include us."
~~~~~RC Note: Being a part of the Domain at the time, I do believe I still have the email from Shannon Quintero and Keith Curtz. You do not have to be a part of a Domain if you do not want to be.~~~~~
3. Regional did not get back to Chapter on the SWRE 2003 Spring bid, so Chapter has pulled their bid due to hotel constraints. "Many individuals are upset about this and have requested that we send a complaint to National regarding the unprofessional way in which our bid was handled. We are going to be recommending in that letter that California be separated into its own Region as it is evident that California seems to be given preference to events and offices." Chapter will instead attempt to host a state-wide event.
~~~~~RC Note: Your bid allowed for 1 week to decide, and gave us no time to allow the rest of the Region to place a bid as well. I encourage you to re-submit your bid with the fact that bids are going to be accepted until Sept 1st, 2002~~~~~
4. Chapter will be holding a BBQ at a member's home on the 5th weekend of June.
5. Campout event is still in planning stages.
6. Treasury report given tot he Chapter.
7. Mike Thiel was hospitalized for heart problems. A collection was done to purchase a card and stuffed animal for him.
8. Clarifications on Influence's geographic affect were made.
9. Grievance policies were reviewed again.
10. Update on the Website given.
11. Hexacon will be held July 26-28; no games will be held, but members will be eligible to earn prestige or XP if they run an NPC. Assisting at the con will also earn Prestige.
12. Chapter will have t-shirts available for sale this month: "Got Malk?" will be first.
13. 10 players in attendance at last Mage game.
Current Projects: "Continued research of sites for a possible summer or autumn game similar to Last Outposts recent campout event."
Questions: "A complaint was presented to Tithe CC regarding the behavior of one of our chapter members. The issue was researched and a decision reached. A copy of the arbitration report was sent to SWRC."
"Inquiry- Brian Fields took the Ordeal of narration before the change over to White Wolf, but we have received no word as to whether or not he passed. Can this looked into and word sent back?"
No other Problems/Suggestions/Comments/Concerns in the report.
WWAZ-008: Kokopelli's Dream [Report late: 07/02/02] Rating: Late, Good
(ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
Chapter has 12 members; three (3) pending members. One (1) member nominated for National Prestige. Three (3) members qualify for MC
advancement: Kara Swenson (US2002021550) and Liz "Spider" Wingate
(US2002023335) to MC6; Jared Pollard (2001-01-037) to MC2.
Last Chapter meeting May 18, next Chapter meeting July ??.
Current projects: Plot ideas to revive the Changeling game; day will be chosen at the next meeting.
Concerns: "An issue arose between a member of Kokopelli's Dream and Tithe of Souls that concerned the storyteller of Nightshift and viability of holding a game with said ST in charge. Due to lack of member response, there wasn't much in the way of resolution. The Tithe CC made an admirable attempt to resolve the issue, but I believe the proposal will wind up being short term only."
Questions: "Still waiting to hear the answer on how a member can relocate their WW Cam number. I have a couple of members who got them, but can't find them. Anyone?"
~~~~~RC Note: As was stated on SW-Coord, I now have a Membership roster for the SW Region. If you need someone's member number, please email me~~~~~
Comments: "Lack of transportation made even non-official socializing difficult. Cross your fingers that the car remains intact."
No other Problems in the report.
WWAZ-009: Que Sera Sera Rating: On-time, Poor
(ARC Note: CC & CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for
details.)
Chapter has 10 members; one (1) pending member.
Chapter treasury contains $7.64. Chapter Supply Fund contains $2.00.
Last Chapter meeting June 27, next Chapter meeting "TBD."
Highlights from meeting minutes: "Vote called on both CST and CC. Vote held: CST is still Chris Hart. CC was change to Barbara Hart, ACC was given to Cassia Gilbert."
Questions:
1. "Any idea on how to reunite a chapter that used to be more a family than a group of friends? Everyone down here hates the separation but doesn't know what to do to reunite the group."
2. "Where and what do I send for a Member Class review? I have a member who just hit 1500 this month."
~~~~~RC Note: Member Class reviews should be sent to prestige@camarilla-sw.org items to be included are the member's prestige log.~~~~~
Comments: "Our entire chapter really does as a whole anymore is game. We average six games for five venues. The most popular are Vamp, Garou, and Changling. I think we all would like to see the other venues go up in player volume though. Other than that, like I said the chapter is very divided and I only hope we still have time to fix it."
(ARC Note: I have experienced this phenomenon locally. As games become more important, and social activities fade into the background, members tend to associate all their reactions/interactions with those of their characters. My advice, FWIW, would be to schedule some social activities; maybe even replace some of your games with social events, to give members a chance interact with one another as themselves, as opposed to game, where they're usually out to screw each other over. Good luck!)
No other Current Projects/Suggestions/Concerns in the report.
Current Projects: Road trip to the Bay Area. Visits from other gaming groups at Chapter games. Plans to attend SierraCon and have a recruiting booth. Improving relations with local Troupe Chapter. Community service projects (blood drive, soda-tabs for Ronald McDonald House). Socials to be held on July 12 and 27.
Problems: "Getting the report out the previous month was a problem due to RL issues that I had personally, and for that I apologize. This report is also late, and I apologize, and will make sure that the next report arrives early. Thanks for your patience!"
No other Questions/Suggestions/Comments/Concerns in the report.
Problems: "Currently I see no problems at the moment. I am hearing that a member may be trying to transfer chapters cause of a disagreement with his ST so I will be contacting him and have him take the proper steps before trying to not solve the problem."
No other Questions/Suggestions/Comments/Concerns in the report.
WWNV-006: Dark Glittering Knights Rating: Early, Great
(ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
Chapter has 10 members; one (1) transferred member. Two (2) members qualify for MC advancement: Shane Sylvia (US2002021648/9810067) to MC4, and Valorie Garrard (US2002021451/200102092) to MC5. One (1) member nominated for National Prestige.
Working on a Sabbat Venue for the Chapter, and running Mage Venue twice monthly.
Current projects: Pop-tabs for Ronald McDonald House. Recruitment flyers are awaiting the approval of the Master Coordinator prior to distribution.
Problems: "I had entered Guy Seggev's National Prestige for GSA: Tremere duties in his prestige log incorrectly for the months of April and May. I will be including the changes in his section and the changes will be marked in red."
Questions: "Who is the Master Coordinator, and how do we contact this person. Need to send up the files for the flyers that have been created.
Problems: "Message being sent privately"
Suggestions: "While we are working with he Domain on possibly setting limits on caps on character types, we have never done so in the past because of the differences between the Domain and this chapter. Now that we are at least trying to work together, it would be easier to work on a problem when the problem is mentioned, rather than heard about through grumbling via the grape vine."
No other Questions/Comments/Concerns included in the report.
WWUT-004: Rising Sun Rating: On-time, Mediocre
(ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
"I neglected to list myself in my last report under people who had cast Sigil Votes, but I did include my vote amongst the tallies. Can I have my 10R for voting and compiling votes? Not that I care that much, I have Regional Prestige a plenty. But still."
WWCA-013: Pharos Myst [Report late: 07/02/02] Rating: Late, Good
(ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
Chapter has 16 members; one (1) new member, two (2) transferred members and one (1) pending member. One (1) member qualifies for MC advancement:
Tim Brown (US2002021318) to MC9. Two (2) members nominated for Regional Prestige. One (1) member nominated for National Prestige. Five (5) members are currently MC9 or higher.
Last Chapter meeting unknown, next Chapter meeting "TBA."
Current Projects: Updating the Website. Recruitment efforts continue and are beginning to show results; Chapter will be holding a special "Recruitment/Event Game," possibly as a Domain event. New DC, Matt Hull, has been chosen.
Problems:
1. Chapter has a treasury, "although it isn't much. What programs are possible to fundraise, especially with the low participation in our games?"
2. "Location. We're quite sure that Stanford is a large enough problem to maintain for both our Cam/Anarch and our Domain Sabbat game."
3. CC reports problems with the transfer of a new member to the Chapter.
Apparently this member had problems in the past which are not being allowed to remain in the past. CC is having difficulty investigating personally; however reports the Myst DC and CC involved have worked out the matter for the player. "Now all I need to do is figure out what I did with that damned card with all his membership info (never leave to Las Vegas when you have a report to finish)."
4. "ST Stress - Sandra has professed to me that she feels more stressed as time goes on. Are there any ways I could help her out?"
Questions:
1. "Matt Hull, while chosen as DC has also volunteered for what would be an ACC position (New Players) - what are the prestige by-laws for this?"
~~~~~RC Note: I'm a little confused on what exactly you are wanting to know.~~~~~
Comments: CC included updates on Chapter Priorities.

CA-015: Anathema Rating: On-time, Mediocre
Chapter has 28 members. One (1) member is pending MC advancement: Dan Luboff (US20020201370) to MC9. Four (4) members are MC9 or higher.
Last Chapter meeting "unknown;", next Chapter meeting July 20.
Current projects: "Setting up an Anathema Social for July 20th. A few members voiced that they could not make the initial July 13th meeting date"
Comments: "CC transition went fairly well."
Problems, Suggestions, Questions: "There was an issue with an offended chapter member that I think has been resolved. If the member continues to push their complaint I will send the issue to my DC who will then forward it to the ARC Arbitration."
No other Concerns included in the report.
WWCA-016: The House of the Silver Crescent Rating: Early, Good
Chapter has 18 members; six (6) transferred members and one (1) pending Member. One (1) member qualifies for MC advancement: Megan Parts (US2002022477/2001-02-143) to MC5.
Last Chapter meeting June 9, next Chapter meeting "Sometime in Aug."
Highlights of meeting minutes: "The meeting was called very quickly to deal with the problems of the chapter and of the domain. A vote of no confidence was called on the CC earlier that week but taken back at the meeting. Also rumors concerning the DC elections were put to rest and feelings were vented. The outcome of this had 6 members choosing to transfer over to the now independent chapter Nickels and Dimes and one changing to Sepulchre."
Current projects: HSC BBQ on June 15 -- six (6) HSC members and two (2) N&D members in attendance. "I was very disappointed that certain people who did say they would support the chapter did not show up based on unfounded rumors they heard from another member. Those rumors and the rumormonger have been deal with and he is no longer a problem in the chapter."
Problems: "The chapter has lost 7 members but is still above the 10-member mark. Also two new members are in the process of being recruited.
The DC elections are still in the works, as Sepulchre now has a new CC. So far, only C.R. Toedoro has thrown in his nomination for DC. Depending on the outcome, we may be having a CST election in the upcoming months.
Also the issue between members Mike Jackson and C.R. Teodoro has been settled. Teo has decided to drop the issue as Jackson has transferred chapters."
Comments/Suggestions: "Just a comment, the CC will be out of contact from July 12-21st, and July 25th to Aug 4th. During the four days, she can be contacted the usual ways. Or if necessary, via snail mail during the days she will be gone. Please Email if you might need the snail mail address. The report will be either handled by the new DC or the ACC, Barbara Mertz."

CA-021: Moustique Noir Rating: Early, Mediocre
(ARC Note: CST in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)

Last Chapter meeting June 26, next Chapter meeting July 31.
Highlights of meeting minutes: Charity BBQ to be held to benefit the Battered Women's Shelter; cost will be $5 or $6/person. Discussion of Prestige, arbitration and how they work.
Current Projects: Charity BBQ tentatively scheduled for weekend of August 10th or 17th. Conducting Prestige audits and creating Prestige logs for each member. Blood drive on June 29.
Questions: "There is a vicious rumor running around that people who donated blood around 9/11 would be given National prestige for the act.
What were the applicable dates for this?
~~~~~RC Note: Mica has the information on this, please email her at prestige@camarilla-sw.org with any questions~~~~~
"Also, can prestige be awarded for organizing a blood drive? Would it fall under the category of 'Organizing a Camarilla Fund Raiser'?"
~~~~~RC Note: Yes, and Yes.~~~~~

WWCA-023: Sepulchre Rating: On-time, Mediocre
Chapter has 15 members. Two (2) members are qualified for MC advancement: Sharon Johnson (US2002034814) to MC2, and Morgan Wessler (US2002022175) to MC4. One (1) member nominated for Regional Prestige. One (1) member at MC9 or higher.
No Chapter meeting dates included in the report.
Problems: "According to the Tome, new chapter coordinators must complete ordeals within 2 months of taking office. Sharon Johnson has stepped up as CC and has taken none of her ordeals due to the fact that they are MIA. As soon as these ordeals become available, please start the 2 month time limit.
Other Chapter members would also like to take the ordeals. Should the delay be due to time restraints, can people volunteer to assist?"
(ARC Note: There are presently no Ordeals to take; the Education Team is presently re-writing the Ordeals. Also, officers have three months to complete Ordeals after taking office, not two. The "clock" begins when the officer assumes their position, but as the tests are currently unavailable, officers are not being held to that time-standard at present; we continue to track non-compliance however just for record-keeping purposes.)
Questions: "Regional prestige has not been applied to the members who voted for the SW sigil. Please notify us when this becomes applicable. For convenience, the voting is listed again as follows:" (ARC Note, Sigil vote totals follow in the report.)
~~~~~RC Note: Please contact Mica in regards to the Sigil Vote Prestige at prestige@camarilla-sw.org~~~~~
Comments: "Martha D. Beutel has stepped down from the position of CC and transferred into the 4 Winds Chapter due to location changes.
"The holy quest for a game site for Cam/Anarch is still ongoing. The decision to have breathable air made the consideration of the moon unfeasible. After all, we at Sepulchre realize that Mortals sometimes attend these functions and it would give the vampires an unfair advantage.
Never let it be said that we do not have a firm grasp on reality.
"Anthony Fuentes (WW#US2002021852) would like to run in the DC Election."
WWCA-025: Monsters Under the Bed Rating: On-time, Great
(ARC Note: CC in Ordeals Non-compliance; see Section 2 for details.)
Chapter has 20 members; one (1) transferred member. Six (6) members qualify for MC advancement: Kimberly Allbee (US2002021364) to MC7; Ted Carten (US2002022403) to MC4; Jim Flood (US2002021043) to MC8; Paul Glenn (US2002055904) to MC2; Jessica Munarolo (US2002021375) and Sonja Sonntag (US2002023244) to MC3. Eight (8) Members nominated for over 100 Prestige.
Fourteen members nominated for Regional Prestige. Three (3) members currently MC9 or higher.
Last Chapter meeting in June 22; next Chapter meeting is July 27.
Current Projects:
1) Chapter Funds: "Back to the monthly sodas!"
2) Website: still in process.
3) Member Packets: "Reprographics for the Member packets will begin in this next month, with copies of the Tome being made by various members at their worksites, to defray printing costs."
CC Notes:
1. CC reports she will no longer have the time to "keep personal track of each and every point for all the chapter's members for them any longer;" she will need reminders from the membership as to what their earnings will be.
2. Masque event was a great success. Chapter is looking at doing another event in September, this time as a Charity donation event.
3. CC reviewed Prestige with Chapter due to the number of new members; encouraged members to hold a social event to earn Prestige.
Problems:
"There was an issue of an old member with a long string of suspensions and OOC incidents to make a comeback at local games, and a number of my chapter members expressed various levels of concern of the possible re-occurrence of past issues. I mad ea request of the White Wolf Member Services staff member, whose e-mail was quickly provided for me via the nat’l staff and the Coordinators list, and requested that his membership be looked into, because of various issues with his NPO Cam number having been a long-time expired. I informed the ARC Arbitration of the resurgence of the issue, and of my chapter member's feelings on it, and was informed by the White Wolf liaison that the membership was indeed questionable. The US NC has placed his membership on Administrative Suspension until the issue is cleared up, and I have had discussions with both his soon-to-be CC and the DC of his new chapter to make sure everyone is on the same level, and understands the trepidations of my members, and the motivations of my actions. If and when the member in question solves the problem of his membership, we're fully aware of what our rights and limitations are in having him at our chapter's games. However, I am fully in agreement with my chapter's concerns that we have every right to expect that this member be required to start out on completely honest, even footing with his new membership if he expects to be given a second chance to prove he's changed his outlook on the game."
Questions:
1) Old Items: "ICC prestige- I plan on using the form on the ICC website to make requests early next week. I have a feeling that, upon examining the missing prestige awards, there was a single missing or late report from one ST, and that is why my chapter members are missing their recognition for their efforts."
2) NEW items: "Regional Sigil Vote Prestige- Out of the list of folks I sent up in my April report who voted for the Sigil, not all of their names made it onto the regionally-reported list. Some of these are my bad- the members voted AFTER I wrote the report, and I never got a chance to forward their votes to Mica, or Sarah. But some of them were in my report but have slipped through the cracks in the process. I will be sending a list of ALL voters, and a separation of those who have not previously been awarded the reg'l prestige to Mica right after sending this report."
~~~~~RC Note: If they were in the chapter report and weren't awarded, the usual reason was lack of WW #..~~~~~
Suggestions: "Chapter Report Format- I plan on rebuilding the report format I had worked out (turns out the copy I mentioned before was on the Computer That Died<tm>) and sending it, with my comments and ideas, to Sarah and Pete, hopefully this next month. July is for catching up!"
(ARC Note: I will wait to see your suggestions.)
Comments: "I appreciate the understanding of the Regional Staff concerning my report for last month- all prestige totals and missed awards for the month of May are detailed in this report. Otherwise- everything is moving forward, happily and comfortably, and we're all setting our sights forward to Sin City, and SWRE 2020!"

WWCA-028: La Maison du Sanguinaire Rating: Early, Good
Chapter has 20 members; three (3) pending members. One (1) member
nominated for Regional Prestige. Chapter treasury is empty.
Last Chapter meeting June 1, next Chapter meeting July 13.
Highlights of meeting minutes: "New officers took their positions and named their assistants. Attendance was discussed, also planned trip to visit Lake Elsinore's game."
Current Projects: Increase Chapter membership by advertising the club at local college and game stores. Mary Wior has mirrored the old Website and is collecting online files (5.1 rules supplement, etc.). Increase attendance at games.
Comments: "Most people have either dropped from the role or obtained their new number. Several members from the pending group have not as yet used the temp numbers to transfer their membership and I plan to help them resolve that (one of which plans to just buy a membership). The chapter ST is running troupe D&D games for chapter members Saturdays before the game and the chapter has Denny's socials every couple weekends. The Lake Elsinore chapter is making a nice junction between San Diego and us, we can each travel less of a distance to reach a mutual site to play at."

Highlights of meeting minutes: Discussion of alternate game sites "as playing Sabbat within a church makes one of my members uncomfortable;" trips to visit Anathema and Sins of the Fathers.
Current Projects: Assisting the Lompoc chapter; starting Changeling and Cam/Anarch venue games.
Problems: "Still have not personally heard from DW Scraggs as to his intention to return to game or confront those who he feels have wronged him. I have yet found the time to get together with Greg Berry and submit his prestige log."

Current Projects: "Domain project put on hold now that a new chapter is forming."
Problems: CC has made three attempts to contact four members; they have not responded so CC is assuming they did not transfer to WW.
Comments: "This month was slow for us. We had the 2 mage games and 1 of the 2 cam\anarch games. We canceled the second cam\anarch game in favor of supporting a newly formed chapter in Lake El Senior. A cam\anarch game was scheduled for June 30, 02."

Last Chapter meeting June 9, next Chapter meeting July 21.
Highlights of meeting minutes: Chapter held a short meeting. Discussed game mechanics and rules, possibility of putting in an SWRE bid. Members also encountered a group of Troupe players who invited them to a game in their local area.
Current Projects: "The Sabbat survival kit cards are currently being put on the shelf. I do not blame the artist doing them for pulling his artwork from the project. See comments.
"Some of our members have begun playing troop game we are looking for new players and members."
Problems: "I have been sensing two camps forming in this chapter. I think it would be a good idea for these two camps to separate into two chapters. One side or the other should be given pending status on a new chapter ASAP."
Comments: "Regardless of policy these two factions within this chapter need to separate. There is to much bad blood between them for them to co exist in this club as friends. I've heard a lot of talk about policy and guide line well. Here is something to think about when there is no more Cam as members continue to leave who is any one going to blame when all the members have left. The national and regional staff needs to address the situations that come up and listen to the members. Making decision based on the need s of individuals not policy. I joined this club to compete and play a game not to be some politician."

Last Chapter meeting June 22, next Chapter meeting July 6.
Highlights of meeting minutes: Chapter meeting moved due to schedule changes. Potential new member donated a rug for the Little House to replace old one that was "disintegrating." Chapter said goodbye to Bryan who is shipping out, and welcomed potential new members. Prestige report reminders given to membership again. Both CC and Garou ST will be stepping down at the end of the month; some nominations for new CC have been received, vote to be held at next meeting.
Current Projects: Little House charity activity. Chapter Cam/Anarch, Garou & Changeling games.
Problems: "Sent privately to the RC."

Last Chapter meeting was June 30, next Chapter meeting July ??.
Highlights of meeting minutes:
1. Chapter has meeting/game space again at The Gauntlet. Several guests from A Clockwork Eternal visited the meeting, offering "several helpful and constructive comments throughout the meeting."
2. Game schedule discussed; intention to reduce number of games voted down.
3. "I briefly outlined the Chapter's arrangement with Gauntlet for use of the site; $120.00 per month for however many games we have that month. We discussed the newsletter and the costs associated with that project. As well, we discussed the situation of members of the Chapter who have not paid their monthly dues. We voted in a monthly dues at the end of March. While we were without a permanent site, it was decided that we should go easy on dues...But now that we have a permanent site, with the attendant cost, I have been reminded folks at game and via email that we now need everyone to pay their dues. Some members have been unable to do so, and I have spoken with them arranging payment at a later date or helping out cleaning the site and whatnot (for no prestige). However, other members simply have not paid.
It was suggested that non-paying members who don't make other arrangements with the Coordinating staff - Be allowed to play anyway, but earn no experience or prestige for that month or be declared a member in bad standing and not allowed to play...Please see the questions section of this report..."
4. Fund raising events discussed. No decisions made, but chapter is investigating musical entertainments and local business support.
5. "There was some discussion of dissatisfaction with the storytelling staff...As James was not present, folks mostly aired and vented their gripes. I'll be discussing these with James and trying arrange a chapter meeting in July where he can be present to offer his views on these issues."
Current Projects: Thirty of 42 members earned prestige this month. Four Cam/Anarch and five (5) Garou games were held in June. Reopening of The Gauntlet provides Chapter with "a permanent and affordable site."
"April Update - Things seem to have cooled to a mutual standoffishness. I have been unable to meet with their CC.
"May Update - I met with Harold Hulbert, CC of ACE. That particular meeting didn't go very well, but with Sean Alexander's help and persistence, we had some headway via email. I think that the folks from ACE who observed our Chapter Meeting are an example of how the Chapters will move towards a friendly and mutually supportive paradigm - individual members reaching out to individual members...friend to friend if you will...This was a very positive step.
"June Update - Tensions between Chapters seem nearly non-existent. I made special efforts to attend both of ACE's gaming events, and had fun. I'd like to compliment their choice of game site. I also noticed that several members of ACE mad the trip to our games as well. There was some minor tension as regards the first ACE game of June, but as it pertains to inter-chapter relations, the matter didn't cause any real problems and even those dissipated very quickly. Personally, not only do I enjoy the site, I enjoy the opportunity to have a game very close by where I can just play and not worry about sign-in, donations, etc..."
Changeling venue is uncertain at this point; participation has been lacking.
Mage venue will open in July; games are scheduled for the 5th and 19th at the Gauntlet.
Edited Chapter reports are now being posted to the Chapter's members-only list.
CC has adapted some of Ronni Eloff's Chapter report ideas for this report. "I'd like to commend her on her reports and thank her for the many ideas I'm stealing from her ;-)"
Problems:
1. "See minutes of most recent Chapter Meeting for summary of problem relating to chapter members not paying chapter dues."
2. "As an issue unrelated to the Cam, three Chapter members were barred from the Gauntlet. I was asked to intervene in my capacity as Chapter Coordinator. After consulting with ARC Arbitration, I informed the involved parties that as the events in question did not occur on or in relation to The Camarilla, that I could not intervene in an official capacity. I did offer myself as a sounding board, completely outside of the Camarilla. The issue was resolved after the Chapter Meeting and Social on 6/30/02. Members are no longer banned, and more importantly, folks are still friends...
However, I am informed that the issue was grist for the mill among other chapters. I hope that CCs who hear of this rumor can put it to rest - There is no problem between Twilight Cathedral and Gauntlet. This was a situation unrelated to the Camarilla and has been resolved by the involved parties."
3. "I have members of other Chapters asking me for their prestige totals and what's in their Chapter Reports. I've helped them with their prestige questions, only in so far as providing their totals as listed in the most recent report for their Chapter. I've suggested that they speak with their respective CCs and should that not alleviate the problem, to refer the matter to the ARC Administration/Arbitration (for Admin assistance). I have refused to forward other Chapter's reports and have informed the ARC Admin/Arb of the details of the matter."
Questions:
1. "What can I as CC do in regards to Chapter Members who do not pay the duly enacted and voted upon Chapter Due? Any suggestions or advice would be helpful."
~~~~~RC Note: Here’s a possibility, use a scale, if they don't pay or make arrangements (such as site clean up, etc.). The first month of non-payment is No XP and Prestige, Second Successive month of non- payment (i.e. didn't pay in Jan or Feb) they cannot attend Chapter games. Third successive month of non-payment (i.e. didn't pay in Jan, Feb, Mar) they banned from all chapter events until they make arrangements with the CC. Perhaps that might work.~~~~~
2. "Is there a proper etiquette for communicating suggestions to other CC's?
Same question regarding questions for other CC's...Would that be a Camarilla Coordinator Faux Paux?"
~~~~~RC Note: Not really sure it's a faux pas, but it's best to find out if the CC would like suggestions, as far as asking questions of other CCs, be polite and stuff when asking.~~~~~
3. "OLD: Right...Another question relating to the transition from Cam-Utah to Cam-WW. Member renews early, pays real money in January. Gets 50 prestige. Cam-Utah dissolves. Money spent for nothing. Member transfers like a good Cammie, right away, no complaining. Does member get 50 Prestige for transferring? If not, why not? That would seem unfair as member has done same thing that everyone who has transferred has done *and* has spent money and is now being told that half of their efforts don't count...But I may be getting ahead of myself here...
"NEW: I've been informed that only one award is allowed per year. I would like to suggest the issue be looked at again, taking into account the highly unusual circumstance surrounding the events that made this question necessary in the first place. I hardly think that allowing a one time exception to this policy would unbalance the prestige curve. It would, however, acknowledge that some members got screwed during the transition and provide some token admission of "Hey, we're sorry it worked out like that and since you can't get your money back..."
Comments:
1. "People generally seem tense...Are others seeing this or is it just the Modesto heat?"
2. "Please note that several prestige listings contain backdated items that were either not reported in time for proper inclusion or were earned prior to the member receiving their membership number. These items are dated in the list for when they were earned."
No other Suggestions/Concerns in the report.

Last Chapter meeting June 8, next Chapter "Pending."
Highlights of meeting minutes: Verified renewals and WW numbers for members. Discussed lack of response to ST's character census request; those who did not comply were not at the Chapter meeting, however. Reviewed the chain-of command relative to CST/DST; again people not following proper procedures were not in attendance at meeting. Will be holding a bake sale at the next game as a fund raiser as an alternative to charging $2/person for games.
Current Projects: Bake sale fundraiser.
Problems: "I still have heard nothing about Greg Leavitt's (2001-06-016) lost WW number."
~~~~~RC Note: His WW number is US2002021769~~~~~
Comments: "One of the transferring players, Brian Tinder #US2002034475, has no prestige information to give me. While he tracks it down, Christopher Jaison Williams # US2002021540, DC of Los Angeles has granted the prestige Brian said he had (MC 4) for 6 months, or until this situation clears and it is proven Brian is MC4, on the stipulation that he is CC’d all the e-mail in regards to this matter. I have heard nothing as of yet about this situation."
"The meeting occurred after the chapter BBQ/Pool party."
Current Projects: Chapter By-Laws submitted to Jim Baylock and SW-RC:
Jim's question shave been answered; still awaiting final response from the RC. Chapter Sigil has been posted on the Chapter's new Website (http://www.garion-kane.com/ace). Yard sale is scheduled for July; socials are "moving along."
~~~~~RC Note: I do believe I responded saying it was ok with me.~~~~~
Problems:
1. "There is some small tension within our chapter, but it is mostly an issue of IC stuff relating our we are currently running our games. Spencer has taken some time to field questions and handle this issue and continues to be a great support to me, as someone that I can sit down and work on details and then present them to the group in a non-confrontational manner.
This is not so much a problem for the chapter as it is just some of our small growing pains that all new chapter go through when finding there legs."
2. "After having my prestige audit for MC 9 denied for lack of 'Leadership skills' and for being disruptive during my last audit and the MC 9 audit, I filed a appeal with the NC. I have yet to get an email back from her confirming that she has received my audit, yet those that have submitted emails to her in relations to the denial and are supporting me have talked with her. I wait to hear back from the NC on this appeal."
Questions:
"Please provide for all the REQUIREMENTS that are either listed or not listed that one needs to receive their MC 9 or higher. As it appears that there has been a quite movement within the club that adds things to what is needed, but have not made those things public to the club as a whole, I feel that this very issue needs to be clear and concise.
"1. What 'Ideals' are the RC and NC staff looking at before awarding MC 9+?
"2. What form of leadership skills need to be presented to the Club to receive these awards?
"3. What is the difference in arguing with passion during your audit the removal of prestige and what is considered disruptive?"
Suggestions: "The Staff at both the RC and NC level needs to be clearer and open with the general membership. There appears to be some misconception form the general membership on prestige and MC and what the staff at both levels actually gives."
Comments: "The Chapter held a BBQ/Pool party. Fun for all, several of the members donated a lot of food, and Jay Jackson and his wife Debbie, opened up there home and pool for the chapter to use. There was lots of water everywhere and the kids of the different members also had a great time. So much food and good company it was all just a plain great success.
"The chapter feels that these are more important then the games we hold and is looking forward to having at least two socials a month.
"On another note, the chapter will be voting on the following:
"1. Continue running Camarilla games.
"2. Run a troupe game
"Run camarilla and troupe games.
"Based on conversations with several of the members it appears that the chapter might be going to have just one cam/anarch game a month and two or more Troupe style game. This is to provide the players some thing they are looking for in a game play but also still keep them active in the camarilla games also.
"The vote will close on Saturday July 6, 2002 11:59pm."
No other Concerns included in the report.
WWCA-Pending: Sangria De Lago Rating: Early, Good
Chapter currently has 10 members. Five (5) members are pending MC
advancement: Bryan Vetter (US2002045378), Mike Ross (US2002045344) and Mike Crawford (US2002045377) to MC2; Shane Downey (US2002021486) and Victoria Buchanan (US2002021485) to MC3. One (1) member nominated for over 100 Prestige this month.
Last Chapter meeting June 14 and June 28, next Chapter meeting July 12.
Highlights of meeting minutes: Discussed need to recruit members; issues and questions with the ACST; creation of a Chapter Sigil. Reviewed conflict resolution procedures. Appointed Mike Ross as "ACC Primary." Chapter voted to establish dues. CST decided to use poker chips to represent blood traits to reduce confusion or cheating; told members they must e-mail when they learn anything new; will require proof for XP expenditures; if OOC information is shared members may lose 2 XP as a result. OOC areas will be designated at games; excessive time in the OOC area may result in XP being docked. ACST was informed of what changes would need to be made to retain her job.
Current Project: Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House charity; individual members participated in Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund and Frankie Brittle fundraisers -- "It is really nice to see our members going out of their way to find more local charities for us to get involved in."
Comments: "We had quite a few members from other chapters attend our game on 06/21 in support of our new chapter. They were fantastic and we all had a great time. Shane Downey did a spectacular job in ST the game where over double members attended. Its great to see his grace under fire and to see how supportive other chapters can be."
No other Problems/Questions/Suggestions/Concerns in the report.
WWCA-Pending: Sins of the Father Rating: On-time, Poor
Chapter has 6 members. One (1) member qualifies for MC advancement.
Chapter meeting dates not included in the report.
Questions: "Did I miss the addition of CC prestige for May, or has it not yet been sent?"
Comments: "The reason I am only listing half of my members is simple, most months the others do not do anything prestige worthy. Beyond that, two of them have expressed no interest in even bothering to track their prestige."
(ARC Note: Tracking and reporting Prestige is only half of the reason your members need to be listed in the report. The other half is to have a current roster of your Chapter's entire membership. So please, list your membership whether or not they are earning Prestige.)
No Current Projects or other Problems/Suggestions/Concerns included in the report.
WWCA-Pending: Vanguard of the 4 Pillars Rating: Early, Great
Chapter currently has 24 members; one (1Ok) new member. Two (2) members are pending MC advancement: Joseph Hale (US2002034961) to MC6, and James Webster to MC9. Two (2) members nominated for more than 100 Prestige. One (1) member nominated for Regional Prestige. Four (4) members nominated for National Prestige.
Last Chapter meeting June 19, next Chapter meeting July 14.
Highlights of meeting minutes: Chapter has established a Chapter e-mail list as well as three separate venue e-mail lists. Looking into securing the Library as a game site. Carwash fundraiser to be held on June 30.
Current Projects: Writing up the Cam/Anarch, Mortal and Sabbat Venue Style Sheets. Carwash fundraiser held on June 30 raised $50 after expenses.
Problems: "None worth noting."
Comments: "Had our first Game on the 14th and it was a slow first game but we intend one mortal venue style game a month on the 2nd Friday's."
No other Suggestions/Comments in the report.

OUTSTANDING ISSUES
None that I am aware of at this time.
CURRENT ISSUES
I'm a little dismayed at the number of Chapters/Domains that did not report this month.
PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS
I've been trying to talk with Harold Hulbert, member-to-member, to try and ease some of the tensions over his MC audit. Harold and I are similar in many respects and I feel I have established a rapport with him. He plans to rework his appeal to the ANC Prestige as per Jon's specifications.
Harold has, IMO, expressed some very valid concerns to me through the course of our discussions, and I think this situation could be used as a tremendous learning experience for the Regional and the Club as a whole on how Audits should be conducted relative to communications and properly setting expectations for both the member and the staff conducting the Audit/Review.
QUESTIONS/CONCERNS
Another busy month for me. We've been moving all month, and doing all the preparations for moving, including painting the new house. I haven't had much time to spare this month. I have tendered my resignation as AGSA Tremere Web & Lists to Guy Seggev. I have told him that I would like to quit as soon as he can find a replacement. I don't really feel like I was making much of a contribution to his staff any longer as there has been little work for me to do.
Along those lines, I have accepted a position with Sandra Elliott's Education staff. I'm very excited about the work that's being done, and it's potential to have a major impact on the organization. I am hoping that work will not interfere with my responsibilities here, but if you feel I need to choose one or the other of the positions, please let me know and I will do so.

OVERVIEW
This report consists of the following sections:
1. SUMMARY
2. OUTSTANDING ISSUES
3. CURRENT ISSUES
4. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS
5. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS
SUMMARY
It's been a tumultuous month with the raging debate over the MC advancement policy, and the subsequent venting. I add my own two cents further down in this report.
-OUTSTANDING ISSUES
One outstanding issue:
Issue 1) Jenn Potts, CC for CA024 has an ongoing issue with the MC approvals (or lack thereof) for two of her members, BJ James and Bob Janssen. I directed her to inform them that until their Prestige logs were turned in and accounted for, they would each be considered at whatever MC their last verifiable audit placed them at (in both cases, about MC5). This is a semi-sensitive issue because one of the members, Bob, has been operating and creating characters at MC9 for some time, though I have yet to find a trace of proof that this Membership Class was ever approved.
As of this report, the ARC Prestige does indeed have their audits and the ARST Independent is looking into the possible character creation discrepancies. Otherwise this issue is being handled at the local level by the CC with the knowledge that she'll have support when and if she needs it.
-CURRENT ISSUES
There are no current issues.
-PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS
The prevailing atmosphere at the moment is one of recrimination. I have allowed the debate to rage on for two reasons: first, it is not entirely unproductive. People need to get some of these things off their chests, and we do a disservice to the club and ourselves when we squelch any communication that makes us feel uncomfortable or upset. Two, thus far (with one minor exception) the emails have been passionate and heated, but not derogatory. It's difficult enough to bare one's soul without having a diplomacy measuring stick applied to every utterance. For the most part I think the debate has been tame.
There is one issue where I feel I must speak up, since it directly impacts my position. Lisa LaCert wrote a letter criticizing the MC advancement policy, which was forwarded to the SW Region list on her behalf by Russ Ingram. In this letter she hypothetically criticizes the RC's performance to prove a point about the policy. Part of her criticism includes a synopsis of an Arbitration decision rendered involving she, her husband Mike LaCert, and several other members. To call this summery a misrepresentation of the events would be kind. To quote the email:
"In comes Sean Alexander who promptly wants all the previous documentation of the situation sent to him immediately. We oblige, then nothing. Then everyone with a stake in the matter is asked in written form to share their version of the events leading up to the member’s suspension. We oblige, then nothing. More nothing and then basically he created a statute of limitations for others involved so as not to be punished for things they did that were wrong because it happened so long ago. Months if that, my Husband and I both stepped down from our positions because we felt we could no longer be impartial with the situation."
I received the backlogged emails on this issue on 4/25/02. The same day I sent out my requests for everyone's viewpoint. I received the last of these replies on 5/13/02. It took me roughly ten days to pour over everything and write up a decision. I'm not familiar with any statute of limitations. I stated my reasoning very clearly for every part of the decision and at no point did I say "Well, it's been too long to do anything." I did make a point of saying that after several months, I didn't expect anyone's recount of events to be spot-on, but this was part of an explanation of how and why I took one person's word over another's in any given instance. The fact that no one was unduly punished for "things that they did that was wrong" was because I did not agree with Lisa's interpretation of what was wrong and warranting of punishment. Lastly, Mike stepped down from his position 4/7/02, and Lisa quit the club (or perhaps merely the chapter) sometime before I received the last recount that allowed me to render a decision.
I only bring it up now to make a point: the position of ARC Arbitration and RC has chewed up and spit out some fine officers before us. Some so badly that they no longer want anything to do with the club. We, who are put in the unfortunate position of having to say "no" to members wear a sizable target, and bear the impossible duty of trying to be fair *and* please the membership.
Of course everyone thinks they are in the right. In the above Arbitration issue, there wasn't a single person who didn't feel completely self righteous about their position. And when we are forced to disagree, they feel slighted, or worse, victimized. I wish I could ever make a single call that would make everyone universally happy, but that's extremely hard to do without compromising every principle of the position itself. We all cry and lament that there are not enough officers who make the hard calls, but then we punish those officers with distain when those hard calls happen to not be the ones we would have made.
When you are crying foul on the RC, or the RST, or anyone with an acronym for a title, you are not merely bitching out some faceless amorphous authority figure. The relative anonymity of the internet, even when signing your name, makes it all too easy to post scathing commentaries without ever suffering the inconvenience of watching the expression of our intended targets.
These are people, and for the most part, they are not people out to get you.
They are people trying their best. They will make mistakes, they will suffer delays, they will disappoint. But do not cast them as your own personal villains. You do them a grave disservice, and you add a problem that is already endemic in our Region: the constant alienation of our Regional staff.
If anyone has a problem with the job we do, bring it up to us. Do it privately with decorum and courtesy, the way you would wish you be addressed (or down dressed) yourself. These jobs take a thick skin, a bit of perspective, and the willingness to understand and forgive people who often make no effort to understand or forgive you. I want to see us keep an RC and RST (and associated staff) around for longer than a year at a stretch. Until we do, we'll keep doing the same old dance, with the same tired recriminations for what "the last guy" did.
Suck it up, have faith, and be good people. And we'll try to do the same.

1. SUMMARY
Never a dull moment. I will be wrapping up a few projects this week as well as seeking the opinions of the LA Bal Chairperson for that "adjustments" project. I plan to release that to the RC by the next weekend.
An item in a current review has raised some concern for me, and I have spent some time researching the subject and weighing some possibilities. I may be consulting the national staff for their opinions as well.
Otherwise, I'm generally caught up. Experienced a little bit of lag this week with deadlines at work and the passing holiday, but I will clean up the slate, review-wise, by Sunday evening.
Lastly, I will be thoroughly reviewing any prestige concerns or questions over the next two weeks from May and June reports and e-mail lists. If I haven't responded by the next reporting cycle, please keep them in your reports.
