Overview of AZ, HI, NV, UT Chapter and Domain Reports
ARIZONA:
WWAZ-003: The Last Outpost Rating: On-time, Mediocre
Membership as per National:
Membership as per Chapter: 23 members; one (1) transferred member.
Last Chapter meeting unknown; next Chapter meeting unknown.
Highlights of meeting minutes: "There has not been a chapter meeting
this month again."
Current Projects: "The Chapter will be workingo n choosing a new CC"
Comments:
Maggie (CC): "I quit as CC of AZ-003, the chapter will be choosing a new
CC. They are currently working on a date and time for the next meeting. How
do you help those who refuse to be helped? How do you deal with a group of
people who believe the rules do not apply to them? Everyone has suggestions
on improvement and nobody is willing to put forth the effort. There is no
one person that made me decide to quit, I just give up. There are so many
reason why I quit. I can't do it anymore. I joined this club to enjoy myself
and have fun... I now plan on doing just that. I enjoy the camarilla very
much but (no offense) it's just not worth losing my friends over...it's just
a game."
Mike ACC: "As an ACC I tried to setup a meeting this Saturday and no one
stuck around after the troupe style game for it. We have one member that has
stepped forward to take CC and wI will try to organize vote on the chapter
list. I agree with Maggie on some of her points, this is suppose to be fun,
but everyone needs to help out some don't. I stepped down as CC last year
for many of the same reasons.
Stephanie and Luci are still under audit for higher classes."
Aaron ACC: "been a slow month, this will be the last month for this
position as the next CC will choose their own ACC positions"
Josh ACC: "no report received"
Dan ACC: "no report received"
Problems, Suggestions, Questions: "See parting CC's comments"
No other Concerns in the report.
AZ-004: Nightshift Rating: On-time, Good
Membership as per National:
Membership as per Chapter: 22 members; one (1) returning member. One (1)
member qualifies for MC advancement: Jeremy White (US2002022396) to MC6.
Two (2) members recommended for over 100 Prestige. One (1) member nominated
for Regional Prestige. Two (2) members nominated for National Prestige.
Last Chapter meeting August 8; next chapter meeting September 26.
Highlights of meeting minutes: Discussed: Decline in charity work and
how to change that; crossover plots/PCs and procedures for doing that;
appropriate use of "no confidence" votes; putting in a bid for SWRE
2003 was
set aside until Chapter can "really focus on just that." Chapter will
be
holding elections for CC and CST at next meeting "to see if there's some
fresh blood out there that would like to step up into the position for
awhile."
Current Projects: Ongoing food, clothing, blood and recycling drives.
Chapter bowling social was very successful; next social will be a billiards
night.
Problems: "Only one real problem to report this month. One of our
members, Mark Lucky, filed a formal complaint against the CST Ben
Wintersteen. Among others he sited issues with the way Ben ST'd down to him
being overdomineering at game making it hard for other players to enjoy
themselves. Mark had discussed it with Ben and felt that the matter hadn't
been taken care of. So he pushed it up to a formal complaint. I had the
ACC Arbitration mediate a four hour discussion between the two and the
result was that they were able to work it out. Both Mark and Ben said they
felt the matter was handled to their satisfaction."
Suggestions: "None at this time. I'm just coming down from SWRE and
thinking the Region has some pretty cool people in it."
Comments: "Once again, everything is smooth. No issues here. The
Anarch game went through every Thursday with no issue. Both the Cam court
game and Sabbat were fun and had no isues. And the social was a fun time
for all. That's about it for this month. I'll try to have some nasty
things to say next month."
No other Questions/Concerns in the report.
WWAZ-008: Kokopelli's Dream Rating: On-time, Mediocre
Membership as per National:
Chapter has 11 members; one (1) transferred member and one (1) pending
member. Three (3) members qualify for MC advancement: Stephen Spirigis
(US2002022724) to MC4; Kara Swenson (US2002021550) to MC7; and Spider "liz"
Wingate (US2002023335). One (1) member nominated for National Prestige.
Last Chapter meeting August 31; next Chapter meeting September 28.
Highlights of meeting minutes: "Truthfully, August wasn't the easiest
month to schedule things either. We're certainly working on it, but this
month was fiscal year close for my company and I was literally working 10-11
hour days. However, we got a small meeting off yesterday in which we
discussed the completion of the website, the best nights to run changeling
once our CST gets a normal schedule, and various fun activities to do as
both a chapter and sort of as a city, such as BBQ and swimming over at our
house. This is one benefit to living in a desert. We can still do these
things for the next couple months."
Current Projects: "Getting our CST a normal schedule again. Dreaming
about things we can do once that happens. Making sure that I and the CST
(who, in case you haven't figured it out, lives with me) do make it to the
Nightshift Anarch games for the last bit and make ourselves available after
the Nightshift Sabbat games for any questions or needs. Looking at training
people in the chapter to take over for me if I ever want to apply for
something else. Spider is doing the same thing for CST."
Questions: "Sarah at one point mentioned a database that tracks
memberships. Is there a plan to allow CC's and DC's appropriate access to
this database? I need to know if Brandon Coffe really did get a WW Cam
number. He says he did, but always forgets to bring the number to me. Also,
for as much as I've searched I can't find Michael Skelton's WW Number. Do
you want us to mark down those who qualify for MC advancement if it requires
approval and hasn't been sent up yet?"
~~~~~RC Note: Michael Skelton- US2002035023, Brandon Coffe has no known
membership number that I was able to locate. As far as this database being
available, I'm currently looking for someone websavy enough to put it
online.~~~~~
Comments: "Fiscal Year Close sucks. It kept me far to busy/worn out to
do much other than work and sleep."
Concerns: "The schedule is a huge concern. Pray it changes soon."
No other Questions/Problems/Concerns in the report.
WWAZ-009: Que Sera Sera Rating: Early, Mediocre
Membership as per National:
Membership as per Chapter: 11; seven (7) active members, three (3)
inactive members, and two (2) pending members. One (1) member qualifies for
MC advancement: Hollis McCray to MC3. Chapter treasury contains $7.64.
Chapter Supply Fund contains $2.00.
Last Chapter meeting July 26; next Chapter meeting August 23.
Highlights from meeting minutes: "Discussed staff changes and game
schedule changes. Hollis McCray is now VST Mage and Webmaster for the
chapte website. Suggestion made to move som eof the vneues to the Saturdays
opposite Cam/Anarch to free up some weekends for personal time."
Current Projects:
CC: "Still working on updating the Chapter's records. I have requested
the back chapter reports from Peter Savas, but have since received no
reply."
(ARC Note: Sorry Barbara, it's been a hellacious month for me...)
ACC: "Still trying to get Michelle Orr to turn in the information needed
to have her membership updated."
ACC Sign-in: "None at this time."
Questions: "Who is in charge of prestige while Mica is on suspension and
how quickly can I get copies of the Chapter reports for Que Sera Sera."
(ARC Note: Send all Prestige-related e-mail to prestige@camarilla-sw.org; I
will send your past Chapter reports along presently.)
~~~~~RC Note: Currently Mike Jackson (DC level audits), and myself (RC+
level audits) are doing prestige audits.~~~~~
2. "Where and what do I send for a Member Class review? I have a member
who
just hit 1500 this month."
~~~~~RC Note: Send the member's prestige log (preferably in an Excell
format) to prestige@camarilla-sw.org~~~~~
Problems: "Still need the Chapter's back reports. Also need to find out
who is in charge of Prestige currently. Chris Hart's membership number was
entered into the database incorrectly and needs to be updated and the
prestig moved."
~~~~~Chris Hart's membership # is: US2002023953~~~~~
Comments: "The Chapter is considering rescheduling the Venues we run.
Everything is settling down. The flyers are working. I have received three
phone calls from people requesting information."
No other Current Projects/Concerns in the report.
HAWAII:
WWHI-003: Red Sun Rising Rating: Early, Good
Membership as per National:
Membership as per Chapter: 12 members; one (1) pending member. One (1)
member qualifies for MC advancement: not listed.
Last Chapter meeting August 11; next Chapter meeting unknown.
Highlights of Meeting minutes: Chapter discussed new clothing drive and
existing canned goods drive. There is "not much interest" in ICC donations.
Discussed social event and the mechanics of such. Looking for someone who
knows HTML. Read the Tome and Cam rules so members will be able to report
their own prestige; looking for information on general Camarilla education.
Current Projects: Red Cross involvement; blood drives do not work for
some members because military workers are prohibited from donating.
Clothing drive. Establishing Tokyo game as "a satellite game for the Mage
Venue." "Trying to encourage participation with Military Region Survey,
and anything else that could expediate the process of getting our
region.(sorry, SW ;)" ICC donations. VtES Premier game event.
Problems: "Lack of players in the country..."
Questions: "What is the ordeal situation? Didn't see the resolution last
time, but I probably just wasn't looking hard enough..."
(ARC Note: The Ordeals are defunct. The Education Team is working on a
whole new Education System that will be much larger, broader and richer than
the old Ordeals. Details are forthcoming. Any members who paid for and
submitted old Ordeals but have not received graded responses may converse
with Chuck Childers at chuck.childers@attbi.com regarding having those
resubmitted and graded.)
Suggestions: "Should I tell the players not to worry about them?
"And as for the pack of players, I am oing to try and do business card
cutouts at the Base Exchange, but that's about it. Japan as a whole doesn't
seem to have college age gamers, and if there are, there isn't a college
around here, so it's somewhat limited..."
No other Concerns in the report.
NEVADA:
WWNV-004: Grand Illusion Rating: On-time, Good
Membership as per National:
Chapter currently has 10 members. Two (2) members qualify for MC
advancement: Shane Van Winkle (US20020234790) to MC4; and Aaron Gomez
(US2002021788) to MC5. Two (2) members nominated for over 100 Prestige.
Chapter treasury contains $8.00.
Last Chapter meeting August 24; next Chapter meeting September 9.
Highlights of meeting minutes: Debriefed members regarding SWRE for the
benefit of those who could not attend. "Prestige 101" Social was held
with
a large turn-out; next social will cover Status mechanics. Discussed plans
for attending ICC and for trabel to the Bay area. Prospective members and
observers will be in attendance for upcoming games.
Current Projects: Road trip to the Bay Area. Visits from other gaming g
roups at Chapter games. Contributing to the Ronald McDonald House pop-tab
charity, and the Camarilla Blood Drive. Socials on September 8 and 28.
Problems: "Just had a question about auditing Prestige Logs that may be
incorrect due to some past accounting issues. Sounds like Enron, but still,
in order to facilitate one of our members in reaching his MC 6 Audit, we
need to make sure that it's correct. I'm not sure whom to talk to, to
address this, however if someone could mail me back privately, so not to
clog the list anymore than have to, I would appreciat it. Thanks!."
~~~~~RC Note: Any prestige questions can be directed to
prestige@camarilla-sw.org~~~~~
Comments: "Thanks again to the SWeRE staff for making us feel at home,
and showing us a good time. Expect the Reno Chapter much more often.
Thanks again!"
No other Questions/Suggestions/Concerns in the report.
WWNV-005: Vegas Stakes Rating: On-time, Great
Membership as per National:
Membership as per Chapter: 25 members. One (1) member qualifies for MC
advancement: Mario Kellert (US2002022517) to MC5. One (1) member nominated
for over 100 Prestige. One (1) member nominated for National Prestige.
Last Chapter meeting July 28; next Chapter meeting September 22.
Current Projects: "Well working ona possible change in our chapters
constitution. The change we are looking to do is having non active members
not allowed to place votes for chapter positions and use of chapter funds
since they are not participating. Ihave notified the chapter of this and
many look eager to talk about it. We just had SWRE here so many are tired
and wore out so the chapter meeting was called off till next month."
Questions: "All questions are answered by Matt Giezentaner"
No other Comments/Problems/Suggestions/Concerns in the report.
WWNV-006: Dark Glittering Knights Rating: On-time, Great
Membership as per National:
Membership as per Chapter: 20 members; two (2) transferred members, and
six (6) pending members. One (1) member qualifies for MC advancement: Guy
Seggev (US2002021437/9511039) to MC9. One (1) member nominated over 100
Prestige this month. Two (2) members nominated for National Prestige.
Last Chapter meeting was August 3; next Chapter meeting September 7.
Highlights from meeting minutes: Reviewed membership totals. Announced
that CC and CST reports have been on-time for the last six months, and
National Prestige has ween awarded accordingly. Recruitment flyers were
distributed and will be posted in book and hobby shops with management
permission. Prestige logs to be distributed prior to SWRE. Chapter is
arranging for a room at SWRE. CST Surveys have been distributed to find out
how players feel about recent games and to design future games. Character
histories are still incomplete. Some confusion over Influence use; members
prefer to talk with ACST one-on-one. Lores reviewed.
Current projects: Pop-tabs for Ronald McDonald House. Printing and
subsequent distribution of recruitment flyers.
Problems:
1. "The problem between Rose Sylvia and Matt Giezentaner has been
resolved."
2. "I have sent Guy Seggev's prestige log up to the ARC Prestige. There
were some clerical errors on my part. I am including July and August
prestige totals in this report. I am resending his log up for audit by the
end of this month."
3. "I am including both July and August for Guy Seggev."
3. "I am awaiting prestige records for Karl and Carolyn Kettlehut. Not
able
to verify their MC class at this time. Also, do not have Carlyn's US
number."
~~~~~RC Note: Carolyn Kettelhut's member number is US2002034099~~~~~
Questions: "When and where do we receive prestige awarded for reporting
on time?"
~~~~~RC Note: Once you feel you have reported on-time for 6 months straight,
send an email to the National Chapters Coordinator
(us-chapters@diablerie.net) and request the Coordinator on-time recognition
award for being on time for 6 months straight. If it's true according to
their records, you will be sent an email confirming the award.~~~~~
Overview of CA chapter and Domain reports
CALIFORNIA:
WWCAD-003: Domain of Myst Rating: Early, Good
Domain comprised of two (2) Chapters and 28 members. One (1) member
nominated for Regional Prestige. Three (3) members nominated for National
Prestige. Domain treasury is empty.
Last Domain meeting July 20; next Domain meeting TBD.
Last Chapter Council meeting January 9; next Chapter Council meeting TBD.
Current situation:
"Domain Newsletter
"Unfortunately I have to report the Newsletter is still on hold. I have
finished the Calender and Contact pages, but am currently waiting for a
review article on WorldCon from John Osborne as well as other articles from
the membership. The Domain Newsletter will be out in two weeks......."
"Domain Website
"The Myst Domain website has been updated! The opening page and Contacts
have been updated. The Calender and some IC history/Photos should be
completed by the end of Sept. Since the Bay is in sort of a flux IC this
will be a good time to get Photos taken and IC pages worked up.Much thanks
to Keith and Chris C. for the work.
"Myst/MUtB Garou game
"While not an 'official' Myst Domain game with the East Bay Chapter:
Monsters Under the Bed, I felt the combined game went well and help smooth
over some tensions between the Domain and its neighbors. Hopefully this
trend will continue and we can all look forward to a renaissance of sorts in
the SF Bay Area."
Problems/Suggestions/Questions:
"Socials
"What is the procedure needed to follow to qualify as a social? It was
always my opinion that a social was: A Camarilla event (i.e. no booze, open
to all members, following code of conduct, etc) had 5 or more people, and
the membership was informed (either through the lists or at a game). Is this
correct?"
~~~~~RC Note: yep, pretty much.~~~~~
From the CST: "OK, it was my impression that a CC awards MC 1-5, a DC
awards 6-8, and the RC awards 9-11. Does the next person up the chain need
to approve an MC when a C* reaches a level in their own approval level? To
simplify: When a CC attains enough Prestige to be MC 3 does the DC have to
run an Audit to award the new MC? I thought the whole process of the next C*
up the chain awarding/ tracking your Prestige meant an Audit was not
necessary for your own approval level."
~~~~~RC Note: When a CC attains a membership class that they can approve, in
theory it goes to the next higher level Coordinator, either the DC or the RC
(for independent chapters). The CC for the DC can award up to MC 5 for the
DC, and after that it must go up to Regional.~~~~~
WWCAD-004: Black Magic Kingdom Rating: On-time, Great
Domain comprised of three (3) Chapters and 35 members. Two (2) members
qualify for MC advancement: Diana Brokl (US2002021371) to MC4, and Megan
Parks (US2002022477) to MC5. Three (3) Officers nominated for Regional
Prestige. Domain treasury is empty.
Last Domain Council meeting August 25; next Domain Council meeting
September 22.
Highlights of meeting minutes:
"Once again, the new council convened. A few issues were brought
individual as well as new ideas for possible events. The first will include
the matters that each chapter brought up.
"House of Silver Crescent WWCA-16
"- The matter of Kaliopi Pappas (#WWUS2002076331) and her prestige
transfer has been cleared by the CC, Megan Parks.
"- HSC's CST will be having a meeting with the ST Council as to what
direction the domain will take on the chronicle. After which, a new domain
schedule/calendar will shortly be in the works
"- Chapter is doing fine on the whole.
"The Sepulchre WWCA-23
"- Michael 'Fish' Murphy has official transfered into Sepulchre, and all
prestige matters have been cleared by the CC, Sharon Johnson.
"- Sepulchre is still in the process of finding moresites.
"- Chapter is doing fine on the whole.
"Darkside of Eden WWCA-34
"- Both the CC (Joy Wood) and the DC (Anthony Fuentes) has begun work on
trying to keep the chapter out of the Black.
"- Both the above mentioned are taking steps at recruiting at both Mt.
San Antonio College and Chaffey Community College.
"- Both are fighting to keep this chapter alive...desperately"
Current Projects:
1. Sabbat Character Creation Social on September 22. "The DC will be
forced to wear funny clothes. The DC is scared..."
2. Organizing a blood drive
3. The DC and DST met to discuss possible Chronicle and Chapter
Develompent changes in the Domain.
4. Possible inter-domain event with Domain of Los Angeles; in "idea
stages" at present.
Comments: "The Holy Crusade for a Cam-Anarch location is still ongoing.
When the CC Council decided not to worry about the lack of gravity, a
motion was put forth to have the site in space (outside the Earth's
gravitational pull). This site would probably never be booked. However, due
to the fact that there is no oxygen in space, members complained that they
would not be able to smoke. So in the interests of cohesion in the Domain,
that site was vetoed."
(ARC Note: I'm having a distinct feeling of deja vu...)
Problems/Suggestions/Questions:
1. "Members of the Domain who participated in the 9/11/01 Blood Drive did
not receive prestige (or conformation). This was forwarded up the chain of
command earlier this month in the Sepulchre Chapter report. The members
would like to receive this prestige."
~~~~~RC Note: I am in communication with the ANC Prestige, inquiring as to
where the confusion is at~~~~~
2. "Members and Officers are wondering when the SWRE Prestige will be
posted. Many understand that this will take time, though some are curious
when."
~~~~~RC Note: I am still awaiting final prestige reports from the various
chairs, as only prestige recc's from the Storytelling side and the National
MS table have been turned in.~~~~~
3. "The regional site (http://www.camarilla-sw.org/) list the wrong
address as to where to send the reports on the report templates. All of the
address listed for the reports to be sent to are "@camarilla.superb.net"
instead of the new White Wolf one."
~~~~~RC Note: I am working on finding a webperson to get this updated.~~~~~

(US2002021444) to MC12. Domain treasury contains approximately $1100.00.
Last Domain meeting August 24; next Domain meeting November 15.
Current Projects:
1. "[In Progress] Maintaining Domain Solidarity and Morale."
2. "[In Progress] Increasing Membership Drive."
3. "[Soon to be In Progress] Membership Drive campaings: I am working on
a 'bring a Friend' Contests I am also working on the same idea but a raffle,
ever new person that a member brings to game counts for a ticket, should
that person come three times then that is a ticket, and should that person
become a member in good-standing that person gains an additional (2) tickets
towards the raffle of an item. On a seasonal, monthly, or bi annual drawing
basis. Items won could be a year's renewal to the club (paid for by the
domain), a gaming book, gift certificates, special IC focus, or some other
thing of relative worth."
4. "[Soon to be In Progress] Look into investing the Domain's funds in
a
way to be beneficial towards the club as a whole. Registering us as a
Social Club and so forth."
Problems/Suggestions/Questions:
1. "[Old Problem] We have a new transferred Member Christopher Shin
US20021321 (#9710-056) who due to apparent breakdown of domain and chapter,
bad planning, and misfortune has lost record of his logs. Originally from
the chapters (newest to oldest) Amici Noctis and Enfantes de Damnnes(Damned
Kids) and Terra Inmortorum in Austin,TX. Is there anyway to verify his
claimed Membership Class of 6 and to reconstruct his logs from past chapter
reports?"
~~~~~RC Note: reconstruct the logs to the best of his memory and contact the
National Chapters Coordinator, Jim Baylock, at us-chapters@diablerie.net and
you can request back chapter reports for those chapters. I would have him
attempt to contact whomever awarded him MC 6 in an attempt to get
confirmation. All else fails, rebuild the log and award the MC you feel is
appropriate.~~~~~
2. "What is the procedure for granting a member a Membership Class. What
precedents exist, I have a new member to the domain that I believe is worthy
of such a grant and I would like to discuss with the proper powers that be
what the procedure for such a membership grant would be. The Tome said that
a Coordinator could grant a member up to the level that they could award.
Again, what are the precedents (I know of two in my domain already two MC 12
members who were given a grant for pioneering the region's org
representation and the other for work done in conjunction with White Wolf)
~~~~~RC Note: I have asked the ANC Prestige about this as I am not aware of
any precident for this, and I feel that he could better answer your
question. I will send out his response as soon as I receive it.~~~~~
"I have asked the member to write a letter stating his case, and I for
one champion his cause. I am of the mind to grant him at least MC 6, but
more of the mind to grant him MC 8. I would like the opinion of Regional
and National on this decision.
"The following is his letter of intent:"
To the Coordinator Staff:
As a former White Wolf staffer, I've made several contributions to the
Camarilla fan club that aren't always immediately obvious, or of the sort
that show up on prestige logs. At this time I'm going over my prestige
materials with my local coordinator staff, but I'd also like to put in for a
member class assignment based on the various work that I've done. A lot of
materials that I've developed have had a direct contact with the Camarilla
organization. This isn't just the obvious case of live-action books being
used for live-action games. In many cases I've also worked to smooth
integration with the club and to solicit input for White Wolf's live-action
material. Included here is a brief listing of some of the things I've done
that don't have a formal prestige category.
* As writer and developer for several live-action books, including _Laws of
the Night Revised_ and _Laws of Ascension_, I worked with the Camarilla to
coordinate rules, releases and updates. Wade Jones, the US-NST at the time
of these books' development, received advance copies, and I also made the
material available to Charles Bailey, who solicited input through his
connections with the Board of Directors. In several cases, Camarilla fan
club input went directly to improving or modifying the material that was
later published. In all cases this was something that wasn't considered part
of the job -- White Wolf at the time didn't care if published material had
any connection with the fan club -- but I made a specific effort to make
sure that the live-action books released would have input from the fan club.
* I worked briefly as an assistant to Marc Torley, before the transition of
the Camarilla to a wholly owned White Wolf organization. I spent several
months reviewing his international story and plot ideas, coming up with
commentaries on how to reconcile them with White Wolf continuity or areas
that might need additional explanation. My prestige records never reflected
any of this work.
* Naturally, I developed and wrote many of the books that the Camarilla
uses.
* I spent about a year working as an ACST in Atlanta, which isn't credited
on my prestige logs. I also used this as an opportunity to see the game from
the "ground floor" -- to see how day-to-day Camarilla operations worked,
and
how to better develop the live-action material in response.
* I built the Mage venue in Atlanta specifically to tie in to the release of
_Laws of Ascension_. I also built in material in Mage to reference the
Camarilla's venue. You'll notice, for instance, that the Book of Madness
Revised, in the opening fiction, mentions the mage convocation in Los
Angeles -- a reference to the first ICC event where the Mage venue would
appear.
* It's also noteworthy that I'm the only Camarilla-affiliated White Wolfer
without a grant MC -- Charles Bailey 10, Cynthia Summers 10, Rich Dansky 10,
Shane deFreest 12.
With that in mind, I'd like to be able to record a lump sum of prestige or
member class given these contributions.
Thanks for your consideration,
Cordially,
Jess Heinig

Comments: "I apologize for the dardiness of this and August's report.
I'm just wrapping up the last film and should be more readily available next

"Last month I published a list of priorities. This is how we're getting

"1) increase attendence/participation.

"*this is being done, and done well. Our game announces could come
sooner, but the locations and times are announced at the beginning of every

"-positive reenforcement?
"*Game Prizes. This idea is definitely taking shape - donations for
these will be accepted from the membership next month.
"-location, location, location...
"*part of our attendence problem comes from our outdoor location.

to start charging for locations - at least - the local membership.
Prestige will be offerred.
"-socials
"*Adam and Choli have offerred their apartment for a July 4th Social.
"2) increase membership.
"-Recruitment Drives
"*Advertisement and publicity got us far. The next step is keeping up
the interest.
"3) Change outward perception of apathy
"-Most of this image has changed.
"*I believe that Pharos Myst, at least the active membership, is a very
proactive group. All of us, including newer members like Kieth Taylor, Matt
Hull, and J Li are looking for locations, contacting friends for recruits,
doing what they can in the time they have. I wouldn't be surprised if my
role ends up being taken over by one of the other members who has more
time...
"4) Raise money for event games in the coming Fall.

soon. Currently, we have 23 posters for the movie 'Signs'."

roleplaying club there even has to pay a $60 fee."
Questions: "Are there any policies against selling donated material on,
say, e-bay?"
Comments: "LIST OF PRIORITIES:
"I. Increase Attendance/Publicity. Currently, we compete with at least
2
other chapters for game nights. Worse, we hadn't had a great Cammie
attendence at our games in months.
" a. Why?
" -Some have said it's because we don't have an indoor site (see
below).
" -Others say it's because we got a bad reputation of just
jumping into mass-combats.
" b. Really, why?
" -We have a reputation that needs to be changed. That requires
both the participation of our membership, as well as a strong PR Campaign to
help our outlook.
"II. Fundraising. Currently we have so little I don't know the exact
amount - $100-something. The cheapest any hotel will give us an indoor room
for is $150. The best deal I got is a coffeehouse conference room for $100
/ month - may be less if we make it an ongoing thing. So, until then, it'll
be awhile until we run anything big. Unless we make money!
" Goal: $1,000 -
" What it'll get us - 6 months at the San Jose Hilton
" - in two awesome rooms.
" Why? - Event Games. We should have them. Goes with the increasing
attendance above.
"III. Recruitment.
" -Recruitment Games-
" As of today - we have two possibilities for future recruitment games.
Stanford and SCU. The greatness that is J has already talked about us to
the Stanford group, and I've been in contact iwth the heads of the SCU
organization. In a few months time they could get us space there - and we
could run an introductory/recruitment game there. These should be
stand-alone LARPs which are IN-CHRONICLE. It gets them characters they will
WANT to play in the chronicle, and also work to satisfy them for the one
game."

Current Projects: "The chapter largely was inactive this month because
of SWRE. A social was to be held but has been postponed until next month and
will be reported in the September report. The issues at hand for now will be
to verify every member's prestige and audit as needed. Some number
discrepancies came up as a result of bad math by the current and/or one of
the former CCs. In addition, the updating of the web page will happen this
month...finally. I expect next month to be more active, as everyone will not
be scrambling to get to Vegas for the weekend.
"The web page has undergone a total redesign and a new hosting site. Kali
Pappas has offered her time and server space to redesign and update it. It
is now hosted at www.clantoreador.com/hsc. It will undergo a few more
updates in the next few days.
"Also, Sean Shubin has decided to transfer to N&D as well as Amber

Problems: "The issue of Kaliopi Pappas, the member who has been inactive
since '99 and couldn't be vouched for by anyone in the WW Camarilla, has
been resolved. However again, the urging of a database to hold prestige has
been brought up again. Please please look into that and fill it with
prestige from archived reports. It would help the CC's out immensely to
verify prestige dating all the way back to 1998. Gives us less headaches."

participate. Charity BBQ was very successful, and we would like to do it
again next year - perhaps a series of three over the summer.
Congratulations to our new sister chapter, False Reflections. They are a
real, honest-to-goodness, pending chapter. We will be chaning our place of

of such and for awarding of the 12 Nat'l prestige for having gone 6 months
on time? I know it's back to the drawing board this month- the holiday
thwarted my every intention of getting to a computer with a functioning
internet connection until I got here to work this morning. *grin*
~~~~~RC Note: that is correct, you contact Jim Baylock at
us-chapters@camarilla-sw.org in order to receive the National prestige for
on-time reporting for 6months straight~~~~~
"In Re: the recent discussion of consensus voting vs. majority votes
wins
is something I'd like to see resolved. Chapter votes, as I was lead to
understand them when I became a CC years ago, were set by majority, and if
there is a proposed change of this policy in the currently circulating draft
of the new paperwork for the US- I think the current example being made in
Modesto is enough to be indicative of why it's a good thought in theory, but
cannot be successfully used in practice. Some comment on the actuality of
how votes at the chapter level should be handled would be nice, so that the
issue can be laid to rest."
~~~~~RC Note: see the section Voting Procedure in the Tome~~~~~
Suggestions: CC suggests meetings between the Regional and Local
Coordinating/Storytelling staffs be held in addition to the Open Regional
meeting at Regional events in the future.
Comments: "Just at the end of the month, Mostners and TDC, another
nearby chapte,r got together to throw up some quick games for the 5th
weekend of the month. We had visitors from nearby chapters in Monterey and
Modesto- it was very nice to have a weekend of everyone NOT being at each
other's throats. Gee... no Vampire was involved. That says something, I'm
sure... I just don't think I like what it says. Inter-chapter relations
between Monsters and the Domain of Myst have not been sterling as of late-
old tensions and frustrations that should have been let go months ago are
still being brought into places they don't belong. I'm beginning to find
the ends of my wits in these situations- it's becoming increasingly no-win
on all fronts. For now, attempts to put out little embers that look like
precursors of larger fires have kept things low-key, but the smoldering is
still there and the pressure of impending eruption is taking it's toll on
people's temperaments. I regularly turn to folks on the Regional Coord and
ST staff to try and keep my balance in these matters, and so far... things
are being kept at bay. But much as this weekend was a nice change, and
showed that certain members are more than willing and capable of getting
along- it's still not a green-light situation."

Comments: "I really like the fact that the RST sent out the prestige
section of his report. In my experience trying to get many ST's to tell you
what they recommended is like pulling hens teeth. Usually I get a response
of "oh, I always award x unless their report is late or they did something
exceptional". When I remind them that I have no way of knowing this since
I
don't see ST reports, they still don't get the point. I'd given up and just
based stuff on how well organized a game looked (not if I liked it, but if
it looked like someone spent any time on it), and if they told me their
recommended prestige for their assistants. Anyway, it's nice to see those
recommendations someplace where the people who award prestige can see them.
"On a separate note: I in the process of getting old prestige logs for
Logan from the CC before last (who is being helpful). I am hoping that Ken's

Last Chapter meeting was August 31; next Chapter meeting TBA September.
Highlights of meeting minutes:
Not many in attendance at the physical meeting; however CC has been using
the Chapter mailing list "as a sort of ongoing, electronic Chapter Meeting,"
and reports such efforts have proven successful at getting input from people
who seldom attend the meetings. Items duscussed follow:
1. CST situation: Voting was conducted on the mailing list for CST; of
the three running candidates, none were able to achieve a majority vote, so
the CC sought advice from the NC office requesting definition of
"consensus." Their reply was interpreted by the CC to "mean that
no Chapter
member objects the candidated serving in the office. Vote totals would
actually be irrelevant as even the candidate who received the most votes,
would be inelligible for the position if any Chapter members objected."
CC
notes the question/reply are included in his report, and has done so because
"several other coordinators have questioned [his] interpretation of the
message, whether the message actually even exists, and whether I'm simply
making this up to 'take over Twilight Cathedra'."
After posting this to the list, CC reports receiving at least one valid
objection on each of the three candidates, and as a result, the Chapter is
without a CST at the present time. CC reports he will "serve as acting
CST,
as described in the Tome, until such time as a candidate presents themself
for approval and meets the critera for selection as CST," which he reports
is acceptable to most Chapter members as "[t]hey see the system as flawed,
of course, but seem willing to work within the confines of the ruling
regarding consensus."
CSTcandidates have been encouraged to submit and run a plotline so that
members canbetter evaluate them.
2. Chapter is discussing ideas to encourage members to arrive at games
on time.
Current Projects: Chapter held four (4) Garou and three (3) Cam/Anarch
games this month. Seventeen of 47 members earned prestige this month (35%).
ACC Philanthropy organized to Chapter Philanthropy meetings in August; at
these meetings, theme and date were chosen for Malkavian Halloween Ball
(November 3), and the Winter Charity Gala (December 13). Preliminary
discussions were held for Spring Event and Summer BBQ in July. Chapter will
be sponsoring a team in the annual American Diabetes Walk on October 5.
Other possible charity activities were discussed.
3. Finding a new CST (see above).
4. Edited Chapter reports are now being posted to the Chapter's
members-only list.
Problems:
1. "We have not completely corrected our problem with members not paying
dues. I will suggest to the Chapter a solution suggested by one of the
readers of these reports. That is, if you haven't paid your dues, you need
to pay a nominal $1 or $2 site fee. If you've paid your dues, the site fees
are covered."
2. "The CST situation is a problem, to some extent. But I must say that
the CHapter has been very good about working through htis with little to no
complaining. We do hope have some sort of letter expressing our
reservations regarding the current consensus policy ready to be submitted to
the appropriate officers by the end of the month."
3. "This issue continues. I have members of other Chapters asking me for
their prestige totals. I've helped them with their prestige questions, only
in so far as providing their totals as listed in the most recent report for
their Chapter. I've suggested that they speak with their respective CCs and
should that not allieviate the problem, to refer the matter to the ARC
Administration/Arbitration (for Admin assistance)."
4. "One of our members, Curtis Wilkins, 2002021340, posted a message to
the Tremere OOC list that clearly violated the CoC. The message made
statements and accusations against another player, or a neighboring Chapter,
that were inflamatory and baseless. The matter was refered to me first by
the aggrieved player, then through channels as a formal complaint. I
confered with the ARC Arbitration and was prepared to issue a suspension. I
first wished to insure that hte aggrieved member felt that the action was
appropriate and sufficient...That member misunderstood my intent and
forwarded my letter to his CC. His CC foled a complaint against me
regarding the proposed punishment.
"Sean quickly stepped in and spoke with all parties concerned and a
satisfactory punishment was arrived at. Curtis was suspended for 2 weeks,
ending September 3rd, and suffers a penalty of -50 Prestige in this months
report. The player for filed complaint felt that this was appropriate and
fair, I agreed, Sean agreed...Even Curtis agreed. So it was written, so it
was done."
5. "I have two members who have requested transfer to Independent
Southwest member status. Each has been telling others that they are
Independents, and one may have attended SWeRE citing herself as an
Independent. Should this be an issue or should I just ignore this?
"I have, to this point, refused their requests for transfer based upong
the following -
"a. Member #1 recently served as an officer of the Chapter. Upon his
resignation, he requested the transfer. However, has to date maintained in
his possession certain items critical to the functioning of the Chapter and
that are Chapter Property. That is specifically, the ST database of TWC
member characters, and the offical copies of those characters. I have
mentioned this to him several times and he has assured me that he will
return the items to me............and "Oh, how's my transfer coming?".
I
have contacted the ARC Outreach regarding this member. I'd like to comply
with his transfer request, but with holding the character records of the
Chapter as way of leveraging the transfer is not acceptable.
"I have spoken with Kevin Millard regarding the matter and he agrees that
a chapter's character and ST records are chapter property and are vital to
running venues.
"b. Member #2 was entrusted with a significant amount of Chapter funds
to
use as the deposit for a game site in April. The deposit was paid, the site
used, and said member was supposed to retrieve the deposit and return it to
the Chapter. To date, this has not been done. I have refused the transfer
request of this member until such time as the Chapter monies entrusted to
their care have been returned to the Chapter.
6. "I have two members who are requesting transfer to Twilight Cathedral.
They are S L Anna Quinn, 2002023727, and Jeremiah Gulley. Both were formerly
members of Void Ascending, CA036. Void Ascending has so far been unable to
locate any prestige records for either member, and has been unable to locate
Mr Gulley's former or current WW Cam numbers. Both members are returning to
active particiaption in the club after a brief hiatus...I have been able to
reconstruct part of Anna's logs from the time when she was a TWC member...Is
there anyone at Regional that can assist me in tracking these items? Or at
National?
7. "The SW-Reports list seems to be down. On the advice of Sean Alxander,
I am CC'ing copies to the RC and ARC-Reports directly."
Questions:
1. "The SouthWest Regional Website shows that no report was received for
March from Twilight Cathedral and no prestige was awarded for that month to
the CC. ACcording to my records and to the SW-Reports mailing list, the
report *was* submitted, albeit quite late, hitting the list on April 23rd,
thus being 22 days late. Is it possible to have that noted on the website?
Is it possible to receive prestige when submitting a report that late? What
are the policies on this?"
~~~~~RC Note: generally, the award and report summary is included in my next
month's report if it is not received by the 12th (When Peter's report is due
to me with all the summaries). If you have not reiceved prestige for this
in one of my chapter reports, I'm sure this matter can be resolved
quickly.~~~~~
2. "This is a matter held over from the July report. I understand that
SWeRE makes August a hectic month, and I'm not bitching! Just a gentle
reminder...In the RC Report for June, the Twilight Cathedral Report for June
is listed as being "late". The chapter report is dated and stamped
for
11:19PM on July 1st, which according to Pete Savas' posted guidelines of
April 29, 2002 on SW-Coords should be considered "on time". (Which
is not a
big deal, but I thought I'd include it here jsut to cover my self when I
qualify for the On Time Chapter Report Award) I'm capped on Admin for June
anyway, but would like to see the record corrected...I've received a note
from Pete that he's received my email and will resolving this as soon as he
can."
~~~~~RC Note: the On-Time recognition award is based on the date it is
received by Jim Baylock, the National Chapters Coordinator.~~~~~
3. "Also, inre the June Regional Report, the Twilight Cathedral Report
is
noted as being 'good', which means that I'm meeting 2 of 3 criteria
described in Pete's posting of 4/29/02...I'd like to hear suggestions as to
how I can improve the reports and what the regional staff feels is lacking.
Also, any suggestions from my fellow CC's and you DC's would be appreciated
as well."
(ARC Note: This was included in my report last month, so I'll include it
again. Hopefully it will resolve your concerns: You would have received
the "Good" rating because I mislabled the report as being late. Your
reports are GREAT actually, if not a tad bit verbose, but I'd rather have
the verbiage than have to wonder what is going on in the Chapter. Keep up
the good work.)
"I also note that my CC awards have decreased each month. No explanation,
really...just the downward trend. And this is as I am making an effort to
incorporate features and techniques used in Reports that are receiving the
maximum award, which means, in theory, that they exemplify what the Regional
Staff is looking for in a report...I'd really like some guidance as to where
I am missing the ball and messing up. I've even noted reports that were
submitted late, yet received the maximum award...."
~~~~~RC Note: Here is the awarding scale I use based on the rating given
(which Peter can explain the reasons for the rating received more
specifically):
Early Great: 50
On-time Great: 45
Late Great: 40
Early Good: 45
On-time Good: 40
Late Good: 35
Early Mediocre: 40
On-time Mediocre: 35
Late Mediocre: 30
Early Poor: 35
On-time Poor: 30
Late Poor: 25
I hope that helps to clear up some of it.~~~~~
Suggestions:
1. "Please note that for my own prestige, I will be simply carrying over
the last recommendation by our prvious CST until such time as either the RC
or RST give me guidelines covering my own peculiar situation. Cap will hit
me anyway, but..."
2. "Please note that several prestige listings contain backdated items
that were either not reported in time for proper inclusion or were earned
prior to the member receiving their membership number. These items are dated
in the list for when they were earned."
been posted for every region but ours. When are these going to be posted?
I know that mica is suspended but it is coming up upon a year since it was
stated that they would award such."
(ARC Note: I am on the Education Team. I have publicly stated many times
-- in this very report for that matter -- that the Ordeals are dead; there
will not be anything resembling the old Ordeals again. What the Education
Team is attempting to do is create an all-new, broader Education program for
the Camarilla that will offer dozens of courses and examinations ranging on
organizational knowledge to skills which can be used beyond the confines of
the club. This is a slow process because it requires approval from the
Steering Committee at every point along the way. The first fruits of the
Team's labors will be seen at ICC.)
~~~~~RC Note: I am currently conferring with the ANC Prestige in regards to
the 9/11 prestige as to my knowledge it has been sent up to be approved.
Part of the reason for this delay was when I took office, I was unaware that
such information needed to be tracked and sent up until much later, and it
seemed that no one in the previous administration had tracked this
information~~~~~
Suggestions: "The WW website should have the rules sanction on there

at least a link describing where at www.jyhad.net/usnst/"
(ARC Note: The Camarilla has just recently, within the last week-or-so,
appointed a Director of Technology. I imagine this concern will be
addressed quickly.)

so as to complete prestige updates."

WWCA-PEND: A Clockwork Eternal Rating: Early, Good
Membership as per National:
Membership as per Chapter: 12 members; one (1) transferred member. One
(1) member Nominated for National Prestige.
Last Chapter meeting August 11; next Chapter meeting September 10.
Highlights of meeting minutes: Chapter voted to add two more games to
bring their schedule to 2 Cam/Anarch, 1 Troupe/OWBN (depending on whether
chapter likes OWBN system), and 1 other Troupe game, either LARP or
tabletop. Chapter will pursuing NPO status (see report for details). CST
position is up for election; thre nominees are named. Chapter discussed
potential social/philanthropy events, including some events with TWC. "As
much as we are rivals with this chapter we need to learn how to be friendly
neighbors."
Current Projects: Implementing the new gaming schedule. Adjusting
Chapter By-Laws and Statement of Principles to accommodate the Chapter
becoming an NPO.
Problems:
"There is some idea that has come from the National Office regarding
Consensus and the CST. I have voice my opinion regarding this and I and
awaiting comment form the NC. We will continue to follow our by-laws in how
we elect officers for our chapter for now. As this new policy that she has
written would in fact cause more harm then good for our group."
Questions: "To this date those of my chapter that donated blood almost
a
year ago have yet to receive the official word on there national prestige.
We are now doing it again, and I fear that we will have to wait yet another
year for this prestige. If we has CC are expected to file our reports on
time or lose prestige, should not those at the National and regional level
be held just a accountable?"
~~~~~RC Note: I am in communication with the ANC Prestige in regards to the
Blood Drive last year. As for this current Blood Drive, when a member
donates there were instructions in the email sent out about the Blood Drive
that it had to be sent to the National staff in order to be recorded. I am
unsure of when they will be awarding prestige on this~~~~~
Comments: "After meeting with Peter Savas and talking with the chapter
members, I will be sticking around for awhile. I am not happy with the
direction the club or this region is heading. I had a log coversation with
the National Secretary at the Regional event and I hope based on my
conversation with him that he took to heart what I had to say. If this club
does not change the way it operates soon, I fear that we will see it's
demise."
Questions: "Myself and Paul Hackett were nominated for National prestige
from the 9/11 stuff but have yet to be granted our denied said prestige. We
are not listed on the website and our former chapter coordinator had not
been able to get a response to this. Any idea how to find out if we were
~~~~~RC Note: if you were in the SW Region at the time, there is some
confusion as to where all the information has gone. I am in communication

OUTSTANDING ISSUES

CURRENT ISSUES
WWCA-022, Dark Tower, had some every important and serious concerns
expressed in their report this month. Because of the length and importance
of these comments, I did not include them in the report verbatim; neither
did I attempt to paraphrase them for fear of adversely compromising their
intentions. I corresponded with the CC, Jonni Santschi, over a few days
time, relaying my reluctance to her, and gave her the opporutnity to
parahprase their points so they might be included in the report; however,
Jonni explained she had an arbitration to deal with which prevented her from
doing so in time for inclusion in this report.
As such, I am quite happy to forward to any concerned party, a copy of
the full Dark Tower report. Please do not hesitate to request it.

7. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS
The WW Server downtime caused some histrionics with a few of the Chapter
Coordinators this month. While inconvenient, it was very easy to make
allowances for circumstances beyond everyone's control and extend the report
deadline to the end of the 3rd; had the server's not come back up until a
later time, I would have further extended the deadline to accommodate that
as well. I would like the Coordinators to realize that I am not their
enemey. It it not my intention or desire to be punative. If the conditions
that prevent them from filing their report are system-wide, or drastically
out of their control, I will make allowances; however in the interest of
fairness to all of those Chapters and Domains which report to this Region, I
do have to enforce the deadlines and will do so without any favoritism
whatsoever.
------------Publications-------------
--July--
Current Projects:
The July/August issue of Eternal Times has been finished and uploaded to
the camarilla-sw.org site. The release was made within a weeks of the
beginning ofthe month, which is considered acceptable to the editor.
Currently, the ARC Publications will look into having ET staff and/or
volunteers who will attend the SWRE 2002 to make reports and gther
material for the next newsletter.
==============================
Problems:
There were no real problems with releasing the new newsletter .There were,
however, some late submissions and some assignments that could not be
fulfilled. There were also some minor technical issues, btu were overcome
at the last minute.
File size is also a major consideration. This last newsletter was about 5
megs in size. To avoid download times, particularly for regional members
that use the dial-up connections, the staff will look into finding ways to
minimize the file size without compromising quality.
==============================
Questions:
Is there anything which could be added into the newsletter which is not
already being done? Suggestions are open to everyone within the region.
==============================
Suggestions:
Anything submitted to the ET staff will not always be readily used within
the upcoming newsletter, as most works are commissioned based on need and
availability.
Any inquiries in joining the ET staff can be directed to the ARC
Publications.
==============================
Comments:
The ARC Publications has decided to live a long and fulfilling lifestyle,
thus abstaining from sex, drugs, alcohol, rock music, rap music, red meat,
anything sexist, and a bunch of other fun stuff... until he finally gets a
chance to nail that cute alternative girl working at Mother's Market.
--August--
Current Projects:
We are currently in the process of getting the
September/October issue ready for the beginning of October.
Assignments are still being finished and submitted.
Though the reporting of SWRE is less than expected, there
is a small amount of material to be used, such a a game
review and several photos.
==============================
Problems:
We are under a deadline so we are working to get everything
done on time. So far, no significant problems to report on
that.
File size of the .pdf files that the newsletter are made in
proves to be difficult for some members with slow net
connections. Though there is no real solution for this
problem, we might have an alternative.
Someone suggested a text-version of the newsletter with
minimal graphics and formatting to accomodate the members
who have slower bandwidth.
==============================
Questions:
I have started a section within the newsletter called
"'Round the Region" which can act as a bulletin board
section for members of the Region. Is there anything here
what people want to be announced or be presented to the
region for inquiries and such?
Additionally, is there an interest to do a piece in an
upcoming newsletter about the mythical creature known as
Chris Williams?
==============================
Suggestions:
None at this time.
==============================
Comments:
The ARC Publications has decided to return to a life filled
with sex, drugs, alcohol, rock music, rap music, country
music, adult contemporary music, Benedictine Monk chanting,
red meat, white meat, the "other" white meat, violent
behavior with the appropriate number of beatdowns, and a
bunch of other fun stuff. Sexist things are being left out
because the ARC Publications dearly loves his Mother, his
sister, and other female family members as well as his
female friends that he knows; any attempts to disgrace or
dishonor them will result in great vengeance and furious
anger.

SUMMARY
SWRE- 'Sin City' 8/16-18
Official Website: http://www.sincityghetto.com/swre2002/
LV DC: Matt Giezentaner (LasVegasDC@hotmail.com)
Update:
At this time I have not received an update. I have reveiwed all posts on the
SWRE2002 list in an attempt to catch up and have spoken to several of their
chairpersons to see where they are and what they need. They seem to be up to
speed on almost everything just ironing out some of the bugs at this time. I
will be checking back in tonight to insure that we are all set.
Reporting:
At this time I have not received a report but I don't believe one is due
yet. I hope to have an update of everything that's going on by tonight.
SWRE 2003
Still no bids for SWRE 2002 outside of the one that expired roughly one week
after we received it. The deadline continues at this time to be September 1,
2002.
2. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS
Not a lot at this time. I'm going to attempt to get in touch with Wendy in
the next couple of days to make sure there was nothing she was working on
that needs to be finished up. Outside of that my only concern is seeing SWRE
go off without a hitch.
3. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS
None so far.
4. PRESTIGE RECOMMENDATIONS
None at this time.
5. UPCOMING EVENTS
None that have been relayed to me. SWRE was mentioned above!
Got an event? Let us know about it! events@camarilla-sw-org
6. CURRENT/UPCOMING CHARITY DRIVES
At current there are no regional charity drives at all. I'm hoping to
rectify this asap. I am setting up a roatating quartarly regional chartiy
drive program. The details are scetchy at this point but basically it would
be a way for us to encourage the members towards different charties by
offering the ever elusive regional prestige. The charity used would change
every quarter based on the needs at that time. But there will always be one
going, so there will always be a way to earn both general and regional
prestige just by donating. I think this will improve two areas, the people
who donate every month regaurdless of what's going on, it's a bonus for
them. The second way I think it will improve things is I believe that the
people who just don't think that the general prestige is reason enough,
maybe this will spark more interest from them. I have said it before and
I'll say it again, this is a charity derived org, and if I have to bribe
people to help that along, I'm willing.
That's about it at this point, this was my first time so let me know if
there's anything you'ld like me to add, subtract, or change. But be gental.
Heh. Thank you again to those of you who welcomed me to the fold, I'm very
excited about this and I think it's going to be very good.

SUMMARY
Ok so one month down and everything is still running smoothly so far. SWRE
went off without too many problems and I think a good time was had by most
if not all. Thank you to everyone of you that made it go through even
easier.
Vegas, ie; Matt G, did say that he would like to see the event become a
yearly regional event even though it won't be SWRE 2004. The decision on
that issue is that they will have to show they can stand on their own first.
So they will have the ability to run it next year as a domain event and if
they show enough support from the region then we'll award the chair regional
prestige for it and they will have the ability to apply for the following
year. I hope to inform Matt about this with in the week but conact has been
challenging.
SWRE 2004 bids are in and look extreamly promising. I'm going over them
right now with a fine tooth comb and I will begin making calls and emails
with questions and comments next week. Next months report should have the
winner of the bid. I would like to say though that both bids were extreamly
professional and well put together.
2. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS
Rumor mill: is there an actual cap to the amount of regional events
(excluding SWRE) that a region can have?
3. PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS
None at this time.
4. PRESTIGE RECOMMENDATIONS
I believe Sarah already has them from SWRE. If you need more info let me
know.
5. UPCOMING EVENTS
SWRE 2004 bids, nothing else at this point.
6. CURRENT/UPCOMING CHARITY DRIVES
SWRE bids have kept me fairly busy this month. I'm hoping to have the
quarterly regional drive up and functional by nexy months report.

July Chapter and Domain Report Summaries
ARIZONA:
WWAZ-003: The Last Outpost Rating: On-time, Mediocre
Chapter has 23 members.
Last Chapter meeting unknown; next Chapter meeting ASAP.
Highlights of meeting minutes: "As I have just come back from my
'maternity leave', I am unaware of the minutes of hte last meeting. I had
found a temporary replacement for myself to keep an eye on things in my
absence be he quit...."
Current Projects: "none at the moment....my first concern is keeping our
chapter together"
Comments:
Maggie (CC): "Upon my return to my CC duties, I stepped back into a world
of problems. Personal problems between members are becoming problems for the
chapter as a whole. Our CST fired Chris Anacker for failing to complete his
required duties as VST...Chris' girlfrind Natalia got upset over all this
and quit her positions in the chapter and wrote a flaming letter to the
list...I suspended her for the month of August for doing so as this had
nothing to do with her. Another member, Luci Horton, told Natalia that she
wasn't doing a good job anyway and thus a war has started. Paula Shriker
wrote a flaming letter to the list about Luci....Paula has been suspended
for the month of august as well. It has been very difficult trying to keep
the chapter together....how do you help those who seem as though they don't
want help. I am planning a chapter meeting and if we cannot work this out, I
have no choice but to quite, all my efforts seem to be in vain."
Natalia ACC: "no report received...she quit"
Mike ACC: "We have all the audits done its my hope that I can give a hard
copy up to date with this months prestige to everyone. Maryanne received MC
6 and Stephanie and Luci are still under audit."
Luci ACC: "no report received...she quit at the beginning of the month"
Chris ACC: "no report received"
Aaron ACC: "helping Maggie investigate problems between members to avoid
it becoming a chapter issue. Planning a chapter meeting site/time/date,
yadda yadda yadda"
Josh ACC: "no report received"
Dan ACC: "no report received"
Problems, Suggestions, Questions: "What are the qualifications for a
chapter to be disbanded?"
~~~~~RC note: this question has been answered privately when the chapter
report was received~~~~~
No other Concerns in the report.
AZ-004: Nightshift Rating: Early, Great
(ARC Note: Please include the total number of members in the report
header on the "Number of members:" line, in future reports, please.)
Chapter has 21 members. Three (3) members eligible for MC advancement:
Mark Lucky (US2002023578), Maria Wright (US2002045632) and Ryan Thomas
(US2002034022). Three (3) members recommended for over 100 Prestige; two
(2) members nominated for National Prestige.
Last Chapter meeting July 11; next chapter meeting August 8.
Highlights of meeting minutes: Chapter reports no Arbitration issues.
Character summaries and pictures were requested for updating the Web site.
Discussed charities: donations were "through the roof this month;"
recycle
drive generated 288 pounds of newspaper; canned food drive generated 304
pounds of food, "what the United Food Services said was one of the sigle
largest donations that site had seen from a non large corporation in years;"
clothing drive generated 12 large trash bags full of clothing for hte
Salvation Army; blood banks are dangerously low so ACC Charities declared an
"open blood drive" for the following two weeks.
Current Projects: Ongoing food, clothing, blood and recycling drives will
continue for the foreseeable future. Working on a Chapter social.
Problems: "Several small problems observed this month. There were
several players that had issue with ST calls during games. I have spoken
with each player individually and they have stated that they were unhappy
with the calls but that they were accepting of what happened and we're going
to go through the complaint process. I did sit down with two of the players
and the ST's involved (The CST Ben WinterStien and Garret Hyde the ACST
Sabbat) and talked things through. The players understood but still weren't
happy."
Questions: "Did we decide to make the fires up North a Regional event or
no? I for one and all for it and think it's well worth out time."
~~~~~~RC Note: I didn't receive any interest in it, so at this time, the
answer is no unless more interest throughout the region is generated~~~~~
Suggestions: "No Suggestions, I would like to say that I've been
watching the RC staff taking some bad PR lately regarding how they do their
jobs. Now I've been made to wait for things just like everyone else and so
have the people in my chapter. And we'd, as a chapter, like to say that we
know how hard your jobs are, that we understand how hard you have to work,
we know it's if nothing else a thankless job, and that we thank you and
think you're doing an excellent job. Period."
(ARC Note: Thank you.)
~~~~~RC Note: Thanks a bunch! ~~~~~
Comments: "Everything is running fairly smoothly as far as Nightshift
goes. Anarch game has been every Thursday this month with the exception of
July 4th in observence of the holiday. It has been a long standing part of
our chapter that we hold no sanctioned games on holidays as even ST's have a
life sometimes. The Sabbat and Court games wenth through as schedualed as
well. There were some issues following the Court game regaurding several
members of the chapter Tithe of Souls, including one of their ACST's, the
CST, and the Acting CC. I would like to take this chance to state that
Nightshift Officially has no business in this matter and will not poke it's
nose where it's not invited."
No other Concerns in the report.
AZ-005: Tithe of Souls Rating: Early, Good
Chapter has 25 members; three (3) pending member. Five (5) members
recommended for more than 100 Prestige.Chapter treasury containes $1310.57.
Last Chapter meeting July 2; next Chapter meeting August 4.
Highlights of meeting minutes:
1. Chapter elected new CST this month; will elect new CC next month.
2. Chapter social "went well." Chapter spent $110 on supplies, earned
$55
in "game fines" (instances of talking game fined $.25/offense). Chapter
wants to hold another event.
3. Chapter will have three (3) game slots on Saturday and Sunday, and
discounted staff badges for Hexacon. WW is providing promotional
merchandise.
4. Chapter reminded about SWRE, encouraged to allow CST to audit
characters.
5. Grievance policies were reviewed again.
6. Chapter members reminded to recognize new players and offer assistance
if needed.
Problems: "There was a concern that the ACC events could not attend the
Mage game and thus a CC rep would not be present at the games. Mike
McLaughlin, the VST for the game, has agreed to act as a CC representative
in the event that the ACC events cannot attend. As the CST is considered
part of the CC staff, according to the Tome and the Regional ST had not
problems with this, it was approved.
"We had to suspend a player this month for meta-gaming. This player's
characters have also been de-sanctioned by the CST. A report on this
incident has already been filed with Regional Arbitration."
Other: "Several co-ordinators from the local Conventions approached us
after our games at Hexacon 2002. They have asked us to hold sanctioned games
at their events. We will be looking into this possibility in the future.
"Our prestige report will follow withinn 48 hours. Our data base is
currently having difficulties." (ARC Note: Prestige report received on
time, 8/1/02)
Mediocre
Chapter has 11 members; one (1) pending member. One (1) member
nominated for National Prestige.
Last Chapter meeting May 18; next Chapter meeting August 24.
Highlights of meeting minutes: "July proved another difficult scheduling
month. As theCST is working Sunday through Thursday 2p - 11p and the CC is
working Monday through Friday 7a-4p, there is little to no time. We are
however showing up to the Nightshift Thursday Anarch games to chat with our
members and take care of club business. It's the best we can do right now
with the current scheduling issues. Our members are laid back and okay with
it, as long as we answer our emails and any questions they might have in a
timely fashion."
Current Projects: "Trying to find time to hold chapter meetins.
Attempting to put together a blood drive in remembrance of September 11.
Hoping and praying that our CST will get the switch of departments so that
we can interact with the organization again."
~~~~~RC Note: based on the above schedualing, perhaps Saturday would be a
good time to hold a chapter meeting~~~~~
Comments: "It's Fiscal Year Close at my place of employment and combined
with a migraine from hell on July 31 and the computer at home being
unavailable to me the report is late. I apologize, bu tthis is the best I
can do."

Last Chapter meeting July 26; next Chapter meeting August 23.
Highlights from meeting minutes: "Collected prestige from the chapter.
Talked to Michelle Orr about getting the information needed to get her new
Cam number. Discussed the Charity Drive and where to deliver items. Chris'
house is going to be the collection site."
Questions:
1. "Any idea on how to reunite a chapter that used to be more a family
than
a group of friends? Everyone down here hates the seperation but doesn't
know what to do to reunite the group."
~~~~~~RC Note: Have socials, get together as a group and do non-game related
activities. Do things that would remind the group that they were/are
friends first.~~~~~
2. "Where and what do I send for a Member Class review? I have a member
who
just hit 1500 this month."
~~~~~RC Note: audits that must go to the regional level go to
prestige@camarilla-sw.org~~~~~
Comments: "I'm in the process of doing a full Chapter audit. So far,
I
have five complete audits done and ready to submit on this report. I am also
building and updating the logs of two members who were formerly never listed
as active chapter members, Beth Rooney and Tiffany Simms. Both have been
active chapter members shince November of last year.
~~~~~RC Note: Tiffany Simms cannot be an active chapter member until she
gets a member number.~~~~~
"The prestige audits are going well. Everyone is cooperating nicely.
The tension in the Chapter seems to be diminishing. The charity side of the
Chapter is picking up speed as are socials. Things look to be on the mend."
ACC Cassia Gilbert: "I'm in the process of trying to get Michelle Orr her
WW member number. She is cooperating sporadically if at all. I am
considering recommending that she be placed on inactive status until she
gets me the information I and the CC have requestd from her repeatedly."
~~~~~RC Note: if they don't have a WW membership number, then she's not a
member, active or inactive.~~~~~
Problems: "Tiffany Simms has never received her membership number. Other
chapter members, including Jeremy Ambrose, #US2002034177 have received their
numbers. I am going to need help locating her number.."
~~~~~RC Note: according to my records she doesn't have a number. Please
contact Member Services in this regard. She will more than likely have to
pay for a new membership~~~~~
helping me so promptly."
(US2002021437) to MC9. Domain treasury contains $50.00.
Last Domain Council meeting June 29; next Domain Council meeting
"Pending."
Comments: "After Starting Guy Seggev's prestige audit I have confronted
him with some concerns about a number of the entries. My understanding is
that he is going to clarify those entries with his CC and resubmit when the
changes are made.
"My people want to do a dunk tank for SWRE2002 for charity. I've informed
them that I will be glad to get in the tank should they come up with the
funds to rent the tank and the permist. It's being looked into.
"The chapter coordinators have commited to me that they will report their
attendance lists to the LasVegasCC list within 3 days after they hold an
event. So far reporting there has been less than satisfactory. But with the
Regional Event I know that some of them have a lot on their plate."
Problems/Suggestions/Questions:
"My domain is very active on my days off with gaming. I'm good to have
to
either hold the domain council meetings in the afternoons or the weekday
nights which will invariably leave some CC's and ACC's out of the loop.
"Sin City Ghetto is having problems reporting on time on the
Administrative Side. I've informed the CC to either start reporting in a
timely fashion or appoint an administrative ACC.
"Started working with the new ARC-Events. He's very personable and easy
Highlights of meeting minutes:
1. "SWRE plans are being made and finalized, we are definately coming
Still, we're coming down to do what we can."
2. "Travel plans to other games being discussed, and we're trying to
figure out a good time to find a game. Probably after Mid-Terms, by then,
we'll all be hankering to get out of town."
3. "Prospective Members and Observers will be in attendance for this game
and for the next coming games, people are curious to see how Grand Illusion
differs from Faerae Noctis, due to many bad experiences with the old
Problems: "Once again, apologies for this late report, my server has
been down for about five days, due to botched maintenance on their part.
Should have made alternate plans to make sure it was delivered, however I
didn't think that far ahead until it was too late, so I just want to make
sure that this is received to announce our status."
Questions: "One of our members, Jeff Wilson, will up for a Prestige
Review next month for MC 6. We're an independant chapter, however, so will
his Review be sent to the RC staff? I believe so, however I just wanted to
be sure. If so, whom should we send it to? Thanks for the help!"
and try to work out more things we can do to get the chapter involved."
Problems: "We currently are not haveing any problems."
Questions: "Ok we have been looking through other reports and have
noticed 10 prestige being awarded for donation of web space. Is this a
correct amount that should be given?"
~~~~~RC Note: it's a varied award, and technically falls under Community
Service as "Donation of Requested Materials for Cam use"~~~~~
Comments: "Last month I had made a mistake and awarded Matt Giezentaner
15 prestige over the 100, I have corrected it in the database so things are
all fixed." CC also included sign-in lists from games.

look more closely at it to ensure that the prestige system is not being
abused (all the awards are correct and in line with the Prestige

Volunteer list sent to Cheryl Bommarito. Locating Bill Lounds Prestige from
1995.
Problems:
1. "Bill Lounds, one of the newest members of DGK used to be in the
Camarilla back in 1995. He does not have his old prestige records and so is
going to write up what he remembers doing. I am going to forward this to see
if he can get some form of prestige for this. He understands that he may not
receive any or just a little."
2. "Rose Sylvia is in the midst of an arbitration with Matt Giezentaner.
They are in the Conflict Resolution portion at this time. At this time, the
CC's have not been involved as they are handling it between themselves."

was
some clerical errors on my part. If I do not have the corrected information
by the time this report goes in, I will be sending an addendum up with his
corrected prestige as soon as I receive it."

"Domain Newsletter
"OK, I blew it. I planned to have the newsletter done by the beginning
of
Aug, but reall life work got in the way. I have a rough draft with calendar
and contact pages, but somewhat lacking in IC content. I plan to query the
domain for IC quotes/flavor and take a few photos at our game to include.
Expect publication by the end of August.
"Domain Website
"The Myst Domain website has been updated! Much thanks to Ronni Eloff for
access and Keith Johnson for the work. The contacts for the officers of both
Domain and Chapters are current as well as a few other smaller changes. I
have discussed with keith about adding more pictures and IC info as well as
updates for the calendar and locations of games. More material will be
gathered in August and added relatively quickly. My hope is to make the
pages very new member friendly, with not only raw facts about game locations
and times, but with IC history and style to help guide players in character
creation.
"Domain Meeting
"A Domain meeting was held on the third Saturday of July before the PM
game. About eight members in attendance with the DST, CC, CST Pharos myst
and ACC for TDC as well as two possible new members. Topics discussed
include: MC audits, Game scheduling, game locations, a Domain game and the
website. A second Cam/Anarch game was added by PM with indoor game locations
a possibility. Keith JOhnson was made ADC-Web. A domain game was discussed
for Sept/Oct. A very productive meeting that I believe got the Domain on
track and positive again."

correct?"

other thing of relative worth."
Problems/Suggestions/Questions:
1. "We have a new transferred Member Christopher Shin US20021321 (#9710-056)
who due to apparent breakdown of domain and chapter, bad planning, and
misfortune has lost record of his logs. Originally from the chapters
(newest to lodest) Amici Noctis and Enfantes de Damnnes(Damned Kids) and
Terra Inmortorum in Austin,TX. Is there anyway to verify his claimed
Membership Class of 6 and to reconstruct his logs from past chapter
reports?"
~~~~~RC Note: Have him try to rebuild the logs, and attempt to contact his
former DC, if s/he is still in the club. All else fails, with the rebuilt
logs, you as DC, have the power to grant him MC 6~~~~~
2. "What is the procedure for granting a member a Membership Class. What
precedents exist, I have a new member to the domain that I believe is worthy
of such a grant and I would like to discuss with the proper powers that be
what the procedure for such a membership grant would be. The Tome said that
a Coordinator could grant a member up to the level that they could award.
Again, what are the precedents (I know of two in my domain already two MC 12
members who were given a grant for pioneering the region's org
representation and the other for work done in conjunction with White Wolf)"
Questions:
1. Reiterated request for information on Prestige Award for "Member of
Once-a-month meetings are unnecessary; chapter will be switching to
quartelry Chapter meetings.
Non-Chapter members will be removed from Chapter mailing list with the
exception of Kenny Smith "who has been very helpful in maintaining our
Changeling venue games may discontinue due to lack of interest as a
www.embraced.net/usancprestige/ANCPrestigeWebSite.htm There has also been
some debate on the CC list about audits at MC9 and above being turned down
Last Chapter meeting June 9; next Chapter meeting "Sometime in Aug."
Current projects: "Megan is working as a camp counselor this month, so
chapter activity is fairly minimal. At the urging of the new DC Anthony
Fuentes, a game was held on July 27th on short notice. Despite the short
notice, the game was well attended by members from several different
chapters."
Problems: "No current ACST caused some controversy in the DST elections,
but di dnot affect the final outcome. New member who has been inactive
since August '99 and may be moving out of state soon--unsure how to handle
her MC/Prestige points in a way that would be fair. Member who can best
vouch for her (Kimiko Drew) lef the Camarilla when it was transferred from
NPO to White Wolf."
Comments/Suggestions: "Reiterate from last report, the CC was out of
"A database for CC reports would be tremendously helpful, especially one
that could be accessed via the web. This would facilitate chapter transfers
as well as insulate members from mathematical errors that sometimes occur in
handwritten reports. This could also create individual prestige logs for
individual members to compare to their own records, if they keep logs."
"Recent Changes- I've discussed some of the stuff that has been turning
the Coord list into a mad house with the membership, and for the most part,
while we have some differing opinions, we all agree that Folks at Reg'l and
Nat'l levels DO seem to be taking our feedback and constructive criticism
into consideration, and other than that, we can't ask for monumental change
to happen smoothly, or all at once."
Chapter will be starting an IC e-mail list; they may also start a Mage IC
list "to keep venues separate," and will be joining an already-existing
Norther California Garou list as an alternative to creating another list.
First OOC Garou social was held to introduce new players to the game and
build PCs; they are looking to hold their first venue game prior to SWRE.
New Mage ST requested materials to audit all PC characters; is hoping for
Problems:
"The Returning member mentioned in last month's report claims to have
fixed all his problems with the US NC, and claims to have been released from
the Administrative Suspension he was placed under until such time as his
records had been clarified. I haven't seen Jen make any mention of it on
the Nat'l Coord list, however, and while I was told I'd get forwarded copies
of the all-clear from the members? DC- I haven't gotten anything. Is
Regional level aware of whether or not this suspension was indeed cleared?
If not, I'm more than happy to ask Jen and Charles Bailey directly, since
Charles was the person I was directed to in the first place. While it may
seem like I'm being hard-nosed, I'm not- I'm simply interested in making
sure that those who've NOT caused problems can rest assured that those who
DO actually get dealt with by the system. Letting issues 'drop' is what
created the ability for these problems in the past, and I don't want to see
it come up again."
Mediocre
Chapter has 15 members; one (1) transferred member and six (6) inactive
members. Two (2) members nominated for National Prestige.
Last Chapter meeting July 26; next Chapter meeting unknown.
Highlights of meeting minutes: CC Jayson Bouch stepped down; Elaine
Hirsch has taken the position. Chapter will run a Cam/Anarch venue, will
try a Garou venue and will apply for a Sabbat venue game again. Chapter is
seeking alternate location for games that will enable them to "keep the
games free" as well as run their games late into the evening; site fees
were
discussed, but some members expressed inability to pay. Chapter Website
discussed; it is up and running but will need more updates. Chapter to
change gaming schedule to concentrate all their games over a single weekend
instead of spreading them out over the month; if it does not work, they will
revisit the scheduling.
Current Projects: "I have no further projects, though I would venture to
say that the new CC will have matters and projects she will want to get too.
I do know that David Manns is going to be running a Garou venue with the
assistance of Chris Smith, and we are going to be petitioning for a new
Sabbat venue. Though these are all ST issues."
Events: "As of this report our chapter has left the domain of Black
Magic Kingdom of Orange County and instead have once again become
independent. This is of course approved by the RC."
Problems: "Still no problems or issues for the chapter at this time, we
are a bunch of good boys and girls who know how to play nice with one
another."
Comments:
"At this month's chapter meeting we discussed which venues we would like
to play, the idea of better game sites, the possible introductionof game
fees, and of course because I now reside in Sacramento, I have stepped down
as CC. My Acc Elaine Hirsch will be heading up the CC position as of August
1st, 2002. Good Luck Elaine."
is running troupe D&D games for chapter members Saturdays before the games
and the chapter has Denny's socials every couple weekends. This month we
had a pool party Social hosted by Mary Wior that had attendance from both in
chapter and out. Hopefully next time the invite will get out to more lists
Chapter has 15 members; one (1) pending member.
Last Chapter meeting July 13; next Chapter meeting August 10.
Highlights of meeting minutes: "Decision that game would no longer be
played at church. As of August, we are out of doors again. Discussion as to
"
Current Projects: Working with the Lompoc chapter to strengthen ties,
Problems: "Have not heard from Mr. Scraggs, and Mr. Berry remains
problematic to contact on the matter of his MC review. Had to confront a
member about the no-touching rule when another member came to me and
complained of the unwanted contact. Both were happy with the way that I
handled it, and this should not be a problem in the future."
you want it."
Problems: Chris Bartos (200003-083) "finally responded to my questions
about chaning over to ww #. He told me he was unable to get on ww."
Suggestions: "Transferring members: I think that it should be a mutual
where there is a problem between said member and old CC."
Comments: "Working out scheduling ot accommodate non local members and
neighboring domains. Months Activities: We had the 2 mage games and 1
Comments: "Due to a sudden turn of events just before the vote for
chapter Coordinator was to occur, Jennifer was re-assigned to a new post
rather abruptly in North Carolina. With that, Sarah Seeger was the only
other canidate for CC, and she and I haven't connected completely together
to train and transfer over records and set her up to get her doing the
report. I am only doing the report to keep us in the Green and adding what
I know for information.
"With that as well several of the Military members were re-stationed or
are being re-stations. The New CC will have to sort out the situation of
who is still in the chapter as active members."
Chapter is coordinating Cam/Anarch storylines with Pharos Myst, but has not
received any response regarding Garou storylines in San Jose. Chapter will
be updating their Web site to bring it up to date.
August, and a second more probable one for October." "Continuing with
Garou
on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays." "Continuing with SF Food Bank on 2nd
Saturdays every other month."
Suggestions: "I saw a post that the sw website was updated, which is
great; however it would still be nice if the chapter report format listed
the correct e-mail contacts for who to send the report to."
(ARC Note: Reports should be sent to the SW-Reports list,
sw-reports@list.white-wolf.com, and the NC Chapters Jim Baylock at
'em from. <G>)
~~~~RC Note: Actually Reports are sent to sw-reports@list.white-wolf.com,

Comments:
1. "Keith and I need to get a few minutes to go over his prestige log
before it is submitted for DC review."
2. "For anyone who heard part but not all of the story: Izzy, the
honorary canine chapter member is doing fine. Apparently dogs don't need
spleens, and he definitely feels better without a graprefruit sized tumor
attached to his. He may have more problems down the road, but fo rnow he's
feeling better than he has in months."
3. "I am leaning heavily towards stepping down as CC at the end of my 6
month term, due to ! RL issuess. I don't plan on holding any offices for a
while at that point. Hopefully someone else in the chapter will feel like
stepping up at that time."
No other Problems/Questions/Suggestions/Concerns included in the report.
WWCA-037: Twilight Cathedral Rating: On-time, Great
Chapter has 48 members; three (3) transferred members.
Last Chapter meeting was June 30; next Chapter meeting July 31.
Highlights of meeting minutes:
1. Chapter reports inability to meet miminum costs for holding games at
the Gauntlet. They are charged a total of $120.00 for their 11 monthly
events. Fund raising efforts are being considered and will be discussed
further at the next meeting. Dues Report given, explanation of penalties
for non-payment of dues discussed. "The Chapter voted in these dues, now
the membership has to pay them."
2. Coordinating staff is currently being adjusted; applications taken for
ACC Philanthropy.
3. National Blood Drive discussed and explainted to the membership. A
possible Regional Drive to aid fire victims of the Southwest wildfires was
also discussed. Response to both was very positive. SWRE and ICC still
seeking volunteers.
4. Fund raising events discussed. No decisions made, but chapter is
investigating musical entertainments and local business support.
5. "I expected a motion to be made of No Confidence against CST James
Jones. I have been made aware of the impending motion, but have not had the
reason specifically detailed, officially. If motion is made, I will hold the
motion for a period of 1 week (at minimum) to allow for proper notification
of the Membership and for discussion of the motion. If motion is not made, I
would be surprised.
"Colour me surprised.
"James announced several desanctionings, on the basis that the characters
in question were never submitted during our July Character Audit. James also
announced 4 desanctionings for various reason, including failure to role
play flaws, Clan Disadvantages, and failure to provide a Valid cam number in
a reasonable time frame. He further explained that he had sent details of
these actions to the Regional ST staff.
"Then he fired the entire ST staff and resigned. Immediately he verbally
requested a transfer out of the Chapter. Then he left the meeting without
further comment. He did this without warning or consultation with me as CC.
This leaves the Chapter in a bind as regards our scheduled games this
weekend and especially those individuals planning on attending SWERE. It
also seems somewhat punative towards the Chapter at large...
"The meeting was continued once everyone calmed down a bit. One other
member also requested a transfer and left the meeting. Discussion continued
as to our games scheduled for this weekend. Most of theose present did not
want to cancel the games...I have appointed temporary staff to oversee our
regular slate of Mage on Friday, Garou on Sunday afternoon, and Cam/Anarch
on Sunday evening.
"Nominations were taken as to a replacement CST to be voted in by the
membership at large. Kelly Pohl, Curtis Wilkins, and Tony Grant were all
nominated. Tony has withdrawn his name from consideration. I shall be
informing the membership of the nominees and opening the chapter list for
further nominations and discussion. I will likely schedule the actual vote
to take palce on August 7th or 8th.
"The meeting was then adjourned. Several people remained to discuss the
meeting's developments. Some questioned the procedures for appealing a
desanctioning, others sought information form the CST candidates who were
present. There was a great deal of discussion regarding the 'correct'
meaning of the Tremere Clan dissadvantage and the Code of Tremere. This was
after all, the issue which prompted the situations which led to James
resigning and firing everyone.
"After a long discussion, which was pretty amiable considering all, we
went home."
Current Projects: Seventeen of 48 members earned prestige this month
(35%).
"July Update - Again, I attended both ACE games and had a good time.
Several TWC members also attended and a core group of ACE-ers regularly
attends our games. Two members of ACE transfered back into TWC mid-month.
That transition seemed to go smoothly, although I am still waiting on
prestige logs and verification."
Changeling venue is being reviewed with the emergence of two parties
expressing interest in reviving the venue. CC and CST will be examining it
once a replacement CST is chosen.
Mage venue is off to a good start; Venue will continue through August at
least.
Edited Chapter reports are now being posted to the Chapter's members-only
list.
Chapter is establishing a committee to oversee planning/fundraising for
Fall Malkavian Ball and December Charity Gala; committee to begin meeting in
August.
Problems:
1. "See minutes of most recent Chapter Meeting for summary of problem
relating to chapter members not paying chapter dues."
2. "I have members of other Chapters asking me for their prestige totals
and what's in their Chapter Reports. I've helped them with their prestige
questions, only in so far as providing their totals as listed in the most
recent report for their Chapter. I've suggested that they speak with their
respective CCs and should that not allieviate the problem, to refer the
matter to the ARC Administration/Arbitration (for Admin assistance). I have
refused to forward other Chapter's reports and have informed the ARC
Admin/Arb of the details of the matter."
Questions:
1. "What can I as CC do in regards to Chapter Members who do not pay the
duly enacted and voted upon Chapter Due? Any suggestions or advice would be
helpful. I've had several suggestion from last month, but am always open to
more..."
~~~~~RC Note: Generally, when it comes to site fees and chapter dues,
options are offered aside from paying cash, for those who for whatever
reason can't pay. Some allow charity donations instead (Chapter A requests
site fees and also has a canned food drive going on, instead of paying the
site fee, a member can donate a can of food for every dollar of the site fee
towards the charity drive), others allow for the member to "work"
it off
(Chapter B has monthly dues, if a member can't pay, the member can do things
such as set up and clean up game site without prestige). Most chapters that
have dues or site fees, it's a matter of "if you don't pay, you don't play"
basically if you don't pay it and you don't make arrangement (either charity
donation or 'working' it off), then you don't play in that chapter's
games.~~~~~
2. "In the RC Report for June, the Twilight Cathedral Report for June
is
listed as being "late". The chapter report is dated and stamped for
11:19PM
on July 1st, which according to Pete Savas' posted guidelines of April 29,
2002 on SW-Coords should be considered "on time". (Which is not a
big deal,
but I thought I'd include it here jsut to cover my self when I qualify for
the On Time Chapter Report Award) I'm capped on Admin for June anyway, but
would like to see the record corrected...I've received a note from Pete that
he's received my email and will resolving this as soon as he can."
"Also, inre the June Regional Report, the Twilight Cathedral Report is
noted
as being "good", which means that I'm meeting 2 of 3 criteria described
in
Pete's posting of 4/29/02...I'd like to hear suggestions as to how I can
improve the reports and what the regional staff feels is lacking. Also, any
suggestions from my fellow CC's and you DC's would be appreciated as well."
(ARC Note: You would have received the "Good" rating because I mislabled
the
report as being late. Your reports are GREAT actually, if not a tad bit
verbose, but I'd rather have the verbiage than have to wonder what is going
on in the Chapter. Keep up the good work.)
3. CC wonders where and how to get copies of the June Regional Report.
(ARC Note: I can forward the copy that went to the list if you like. Please
let me know.)
Comments:
1. "Please note that several prestige listings contain backdated items
that were either not reported in time for proper inclusion or were earned
prior to the member receiving their membership number. These items are dated
in the list for when they were earned."
WWCA-PEND: A Clockwork Eternal Rating: Early, Good
Chapter has 13 members; two (2) transferred members. One (1) member
qualified for MC advancement: Jay Jackson (US2002021392).
Last Chapter meeting June 30; next Chapter meeting August 4.
Highlights of meeting minutes: "No meeting this month. Other than online
conversation regarding the type of games and when and where."
Current Projects: "Currently we are working on our game. We are looking
at changing our schedule to 4 games a month. 2 of the games running
cam/anarh, the other two would not be part of the camarilla org game system.
This would give the players what they are looking for in differnt games."
Problems:
1. "There is some small tension within our chapter, but it is mostly a
issue of IC stuff relating our we are currently running our games. Spencer
has taken some time to field questions and handle this issue and continues
to be a great support to me, as someone that I can sit down and work on
details and then present them to the group in a non-confrontational manner.
This is not so much a problem for the chapter as it is just some of our
small growing pains that all new chapter go through when finding there legs.
"UPDATE: Based on the recent votes for the games and schedul, two of our
chapter members felt that they would do better in twilight cathedral. I have
talked with the CC for that chapter and released them."
Comments: "I am looking at leaving the club. With recent news I have
received on my appeal, I have a tough choice to make. This club is not going
the direction I had hoped and recent changes in the structure and the tome
have also made me rather upset."
