Last Domain Meeting: 05/15/04
Next Domain Meeting: 06/04
Highlights of Meeting Minutes:
The meeting went very well. We set a new schedule and made some decisions on where we want to go with organization and recruitment. Some players want to keep their older PCs past reset, so we opted for a monthly Troupe game as well as the usual sanctioned game. Sabbat is going online for now, and Garou went away. We need to work on retention too since there are some members who are disenchanted. The hope of newness with the reset is the only thing keeping some players involved at the moment. We had some turnout at the Blood Drive, and new charity events are in the works. Most of the membership contributes to charity on their own. Some members are putting together socials, but this Domain has matured past a little of that being what keeps us together as a game.
Current Projects
1. Education for the month of June is: MORE RECRUITMENT!
2. Charities are running smoothly. We have constant donations and services performed by all.

Meeting called to order at 3:19
Thank you to everyone from the event coordinator. While not likely a financial
triumph, we achieved a great time for most everyone involved.
From: Jen Hall said, “thank you! Was her first event, had a great time, everyone
was great.”
From: Char said “we did an amazing job with TINHARE, having SWRE so close. We’ll
be back here (at the San Marcos) for ICC2005 – with the number of attendees for
ICC, we will sell out the hotel, it will be great!”
Lori: What’s going on with the Domain Coordinator elections? (Timing, etc) –
Applications were delayed, vacations also interfered… Monday or Tuesday things
should get back towards track.
Jordan: Samurai comics would be interested in doing some sort of membership
drive with us; do we still want to do it?
(Why? Possibly to build separate chapter in the domain). Discussion on this not
being an ideal venue for late evening games due to the neighborhood. Also
discussion on the ages involved with the comic shop & other concerns.
Harley/Char: Hexacon wants us to run all 3 of their LARP events. Possibly have
Gaslight… Garou & maybe Changeling. At Tempe Mission Palms, possibly inside
daylight hours – will find out coordination & get it back to the group – Harley
will e-mail details. Samurai comics will be a contact point for recruitment;
troupe or other games will be held elsewhere.
Harley: Venue Storyteller elections – incoming VSTs will be doing audits. Street
election was a complete tie, need to find out process of re-doing that election.
Harley will forward information as soon as available.
Charities: Paper/can food, pet food. End of may we were up to 1,000 lbs for the
chapter. Time out at Eagle Tail Mountain as a domain event again? – Brad or
others will look into arranging, otherwise folks can contact them to arrange
other hours.
Char: expect to see a change in how events are run by WW/corporate – can’t say
more at this time.
Meeting called to close at 4pm.

Domain Treasury: ??? (pending audit after SWRE)
Last Domain Meeting: 06/17/2004
Next Domain Meeting: 07/15/2004
Highlights of Meeting Minutes: The majority was taken up by the discussion for the Mortal Venue, apparently no one voted for either of the candidates. This was totally unacceptable, another vote will be taken and if a response does not show up, the venue will be dropped. The New Mage VST was able to be awarded however, Shanon Smith will be assuming that job as of Now.
Current Projects:
- Looking for members to step and have some large social gathering, we as a Domain have to spend more time outside of game as whole. While it is true that we have socials, they mostly a separate groups of friends going to watch a movie or playing pool or the like… it has been a long time since the Domain has been able to socialize as a whole. I think this is dream which can’t happen, due to scheduling issues… but one can always hope.

The members and I talked about my run
for DC and, if I won, how that would impact the chapter in the short and long
terms. They also used this time to ask me what would change with me as DC. I
told them that, if elected as DC, there would be an immediate election for the
new CC. After the proper breaking in time, that person would fully take over all
responsibilities of the position.
Due to recent events in the chapter, I re-explained Conflict Resolution and how
it works. We discussed possible charity drives and more Cam sanctioned social
events. I also introduced my new ACC General, Matt Farmer.
Current Projects:
- Two nights at the movies
currently in the works. The next one will be for Spiderman 2. Time and place are
still being worked out.

-10% of the members in attendence - Low membership turnout for the june 11th Garou game, was disappointing, because a local business provided us space inside of their store and shut down in order for us to play. -Concern that certain members with higher MC's are dominating the venue. Concerns about these players use meta-gaming tactics and close-knit coteries in dealing with other members is becoming more of an issue every game. -Cheesefest, which is a charity event and a opportunity for members to get to play characters that they otherwise wouldn't be able to. Logistics were planned out for this event before we closed the meeting for the evening.

Part 4: Comments, Questions, Problems & Disciplinary Actions
Problems:
P: Late prestige requests from members. Fiancé with strep throat. Restraining orders a-go-go (but that looks to be settling, thank god).
A: Sounds like it’s handled on the local level.
P: Several players wish to join the chapter and must be either approved or denied – this is taking far longer than I’d like, and I’ know they’d really like to see some more progress here. They have to get the paperwork done on the side of their starting chapter (Sangria De Lago, CA-042I) and it’s not coming along as quickly as I hoped it would. Prestige audits are being done, and paperwork there (tracking down really old records, finding stuff that was omitted, etc.) is making this take longer than it should on my end. Overall, there’s a lot of paperwork that needs to be done, and it seems like it’s taking longer than I’d like for it to get done.
A: If it’s just a matter of paperwork and all coords are in contact with each other, I recommend that the transfer be approved while the audit is still pending. Adjustments to prestige logs can always be made later.
P: Also, Andrew Hemond (US2002021267) is noted in the April Regional Report under the Dog Food Charity as “Hemmond, Andres” – if that could get changed, just to avoid future problems with him claiming that prestige, that would be great.
A: As long as the Cam number is correct, there will be no issues in the future with claiming the prestige.
P: I also realized that I have been awarding prestige for the month of the report when I should be awarding it for the month prior to the report – this evens out the totals, so it isn’t really a big deal, but it requires me to shift some numbers up and down the scale – as long as the players don’t get screwed out of their prestige, I’m fine with it.
A: Just note corrected totals and an explanation for any adjustments in your next report.
P: General Apathy is a pain in the keister. Three members of the chapter live in the same household. Another is recovering from his accident. One is an Army guy stationed in NY. Yes, I reiterate.
A: The question here is not clear.
P: Christine Cornish was DST for a number of months for the Domain, but she did not receive Prestige awards from the DC from November 2003 through the end of her tenure in March 2004, though recommendations was made by the RST. At this point, over 90 days has passed since the last recommendation so all awards will now need Regional approval. I know the DC has been reminded about this a number of times. I hope by including this reminder in the Chapter Report, it will help the DC remember when it comes time to file her own report.
As a reminder, the awards should stand as follows, as per the RST's
recommendation in his report:
November 2003 - 40
December 2003 - 40
January 2004 - 45
February 2004 - 20
March 2004 - 40
A: If these totals are confirmed by the DC in their next report, they will be official (consider this regional approval so long as the DC approves them). If they do not, contact the new RC once elected about a long-term resolution.
P: Is it wrong to keep a chapter open just so we don’t have to deal with other people? In case we actually decide to come play again.
A: It sounds like there are some underlying issues that need to be worked on. I recommend contacting either myself or (better) your local ARC: Arbitration to see if a longer-term solution than avoiding people can be found.
P: Ok, if Kelley Barnes-Herman, Charles Bailey, Pete Savas and Dawn Ramos don't have any record of how much Los Angeles spent for SWRE, who else do you suggest I check with? We really want this money back...
A: As I understand it, this issue has been resolved since then.
P: Lucas Powell is still waiting for his transfer request to go through from the nw region. The Domain is still waiting on an announcement of the DC vote, which closed several weeks ago. (So I can stop doing reports.)
A: Transfers are being handled ASAP. If you have not heard anything on this in the last few days, contact Anna Quinn, the ARC: Admin, using the contact info earlier in this report.
P: Trying to find an easy way to get VST prestige recommendations, working with the DC on this.
A: A quick email from the DST in time for the DC’s report can often fix this.
P: 1: DGK is way behind on monthly reports. The new CC is working hard to get caught up
A: Always glad to hear about people getting caught up.
Questions:
Q: I also have a transfer to our sister Domain Tithe of Souls, AZ-009-D. I want to make sure that the transfer has Regional blessing, I as well as Damon have received the proper prestige logs from Luci Byrd. I concur with logs and allow this transfer to be processed.
A: Transfers are being administered by Anna Quinn, the ARC: Admin. Check with her for current status.
Q: Who is our DC? I realize you're trying to be courteous to the candidates, but we're coming up on the one month mark here.
A: I believe this has now been resolved.
Q: Same as May, awaiting response: I have spoken with Regional Staff regarding Regional Prestige awarded to Bob Jansen in October, 1997 by Pamela Lord-Ernst for duties including acting Regional Coordinator prior to Pamela's election. Is there any news on this?
A: Given the changeover in the regional staff, I’m not familiar with the previous request. Please send me an email with the award requested and justification.
Q: Will the election be held before August?
Q: Ok, if Kelley
Barnes-Herman, Charles Bailey, Pete Savas and Dawn Ramos
don't have any record of how much Los Angeles spent for SWRE, who else do
you suggest I check with? We really want this money back...
A: See above.
Q: Who is the Domain Coordinator of San Diego?
A: I believe this has since been announced.
Q: What is the proper method to request conflict resolution with another member who is extremely unhygienic. Is it possible to request regular bathing and deodorant without violating the Code of Conduct?
A: If you do so politely and constructively, it should not violate the Code of Conduct. Just show some sensitivity for what is probably an extremely embarrassing topic for the other party.
Q: Are the Red Sox going to win the World Series?
A: I wear socks, but none of them are red.
Q: There was a Regional Food donation back in December and I've been trying to find the webpage for the prestige for that. Where can I find it?
A: It should be in the back reports available on the SW regional web site when it works again. We’re working on that.
Q: Had some trouble sending my report to the lists with the Cam site down last night.
A: Fixed now.
Q: A member of mine was
never awarded the following award due to an
oversight on his CC's part can you approve it?
Troy "Jamin" Wilson
US2002096590
Feb 2004 "ACC-Primary", 25 general
A: You are hereby authorized
to approve it in your next report.
Q: In addition please review Gary Corkins awards as there were a few that
slipped through the cracks in march. I have noted these below.
A: Please send in separate email so they can be reviewed.
Comments:
C: I would like to thank
both Anna and Pete for the swift handling of our minor emergency.I would also
like to thank Zoe for his swift response as well. Thanks everyone. And you
ain't seen the last of me yet. And
here I thought I could retire in peace.
This report is my last act as a CC. Three years.wow!!! I never thought I'd last
that long. But, life changes and it's time.So next month there will be an
Acting CC for the Chapter, Jared Royka. Please be as kind to him as you all
were to me. Also, the
queseraseracc@yahoo.com is the designated CC email. Please do not remove
that email addie from any of the lists it is currently subscribed to. Thanks
As the Tests site is currently unavailable, I am unable to verify the prestige
for everyone's tests this month. If you took (and passed) a test this month and
don't see the prestige for it, send me the award letter and it will be updated
on next month's report.
I also realize that this report is probably going to be incomplete prestige
wise, but I'm writing it while sick, so any discrepancies will be dealt with in
next month's report.
C: The "prestige" issue has been a hot topic. A few members of the region have legitimate reasons to complain that Domain and Regional staff years ago did not do their reports properly. There has to be some solution to this that will benefit everyone.
C: I’m working hard to get our transfers done so that I can spend my time doing better things for the chapter. Elections and MC audits are my major projects right now, and they’re taking up a substantial part of my time. I tried accessing the new regional website, but it only loads half the time (due to traffic, I’m assuming), so I’m kind of running in the dark in regards to what’s on it. I’m also trying to learn the prestige auditing software, but for some reason it doesn’t have a category for ordeals – what’s up with that? I got access to the Regional Coordinator reports, so I can now add the dog food charity drive prestige to everyone – good news! I also got / am in the process of getting the list access I need, so soon there won’t be delays in getting chapter reports where they need to go (thus putting our chapter in the yellow) – also good news! Managed to deal with one transfer member, and as soon as he renews his membership he’ll be all set – further good news! I also need to add Jason Webber to the chapter report – he should be all checked out and everything by the end of July. Also, like I mentioned in “problems” I had made a minor error on the prestige logs, but it doesn’t actually affect the numbers, so it’s not a big deal – I just have to cross out “June” and write “May” and that sort of thing, and I need to be ready when the auditors ask “WTF?” and hopefully it’ll work out – yay for not screwing players out of prestige!
C: Thanks to everyone who’s working hard in the Org. If we can help make your tasks easier, you can make our tasks easier. Also, the new Beastie Boys album is pretty good. My favorite songs include 'An Open Letter to NYC', 'Crawlspace', 'Hey F@&$ You' and 'Ch-Check It Out'. I'm really glad they're back
C: Backdating prestige for Paul Hackett US20021989. Member was deployed to Qatar and Internet access was limited. Please do not penalize him for serving in the military :)
C: A DC election
will need to be held for this domain. The previous election took place in
August. The end of August will mark one year. Can we get the ball rolling on
this?
After much debate, the members of Chateau Gaumont have unilaterally voted to
fold the chapter into the domain. These members will be added to the domain
report as of next month.

C: Two members of the Domain
sought restraining orders against each other. With some DC (Interim)
intervention and mediation, the situation was resolved so that all parties may
attend game, without having the situation affect the Camarilla. However, all
parties have been warned that any behavior unbecoming of a member of this
organization will be dealt with as severely as the Code of Conduct and rules of
the Camarilla allow.
There was also an official investigation opened and conducted by Dave Sauter
(DST) and myself regarding an accusation of metagaming. The accusation was made
by Eirek Highley against Loren Gale, based on the
aforementioned restraining orders. The investigation was closed with no
disciplinary action enacted when the parties came to a peaceful resolution.
The issue was declared moot. -----
Copied from Paradise Lost Chapter Report, CC Jamie Schork:
"Chris Williams is a hottie."
C: Hello. I am the new CC. Hope you have a wonderful day. I am still in data-collection stage, there are some unintentional ommissions which will be complete by next report (God willing).
C: This report is a cleanup and entry of records into the CTS so totals might be slightly off.
Suggestions:
S: If the regional staff needs help, you DO have a pool of persons to choose from, which would be anyone who’s ever applied for a regional assistant position. *shrugs* These are people who have already stepped up and said in so many words ‘I want to help’. Just a thought.
