Only a couple of
people are playing – excluding my husband and I, so I don’t know anything
that is going on. This coming month is my last month as DC and I am joining
many of the members here as a paper member until and unless I hear the Club
becomes fun again.
Stephanie has all the
logs she will need if she chooses to run for DC (if there is a Domain in
September, that is). Otherwise, there’s nothing more to report except that
the audit will not be completed until then.

For the month of August there will be a Back to School drive. At each game site
fee will be accepted through the regular cash or through school supplies as
donations.
Site locations: We need everyone’s assistance on finding in door sites.
Jennifer is the contact person on this area but she needs your help. We cannot
keep renting site area and expect to run games like Tinhare. There will not be
money for it.
Hexacon:
Date of event: 07/30-31, 2004
Location: Tempe Mission Palms, Tempe AZ
Type of Event: Recruitment Drive
Camarilla Members in Attendance:
This was our annual recruitment drive
for Hexacon in
Vampire the Masquerade
Changeling the Dreaming
Vampire by Gaslight
Special Note: For the past 4 years we
have attended Hexacon and held these recruitment drive games. Each year we have
a special attendee. We all know him as 'little Shawn". 'Little Shawn'
turns 17 this year, and will be 18 six weeks before ICC 2005 next year. He has
been given more and more complex characters to play at each of our games and
has never let us down in his portrayals. This year, we asked him to play our
megalomaniac Toreador Prince for the Vampire the Masquerade Game on Friday
night. He did not let us down. "Little Shawn" is important to our
gaming staff, because he has shown us that the limitations of this game extend
only as far as your imagination can take you. "Little Shawn" is
quadriplegic, and plays his characters from a mechanized wheelchair. Never ONCE
while he was playing his characters or interacted with the scenes have you felt
that he was playing anything other than the character he has been given. He is
a true inspiration and I am honored to say that I know him.
We are each limited only by our own imagination.

Next Domain Meeting: 08/19/2004
Highlights of Meeting Minutes: Discussed the workings of the Domain and announced the
Election results of the newest VST of the Domain, Jo Abbott. Jo was elected as
Mortal VST and conformed as of that date. Topics of discussion also included
the upcoming Tithe of Souls Participation in a local Gaming Convention,
Hexacon. I do not believe that we attended any of those games, though it was
briefed to the members.
Current Projects:
- With the loss of a
RC at this time, the election process will be starting
soon… I will be forwarding a list of the candidates to my Domain list and
ask each member to prioritize their choices in a private email to me. I
will base my votes on the wishes of my Domain, that in my opinion is the
only way to vote.

Highlights of Meeting Minutes: Held
a storyteller meeting to explain the Garou and Mage VST situation. Both the
Garou and Mage storytellers are up for election (Garou due to his term being
up, Mage because she didn’t take the Membership and Storyteller Ordeals). Also
explained some of the events at the Sabbat game and some of the current Year of
Fire stuff going on. We then went on to hold the chapter meeting, in which we
explained that several members would be transferring, made everyone aware of
some of the new members that joined our chapter, and held an open forum for
chapter issues. Elections were an important topic, both for the Garou and Mage
VST slots and the CC slot. People really want to hold the CC election so it’s
official. The topic of forming a domain came up, and it was explained that the
fact that we held a chapter meeting / social meant we only needed to hold a
charity event in order to get our domain application ready. As such we are
currently planning a canned food drive – there will be more details on that in
the next report, but everyone agrees that this is probably a good idea, especially
considering the state of the local food banks in

Highlights of Meeting Minutes: 1.
Domain application was discussed. It was sent in
mid-April and the membership was concerned with the length of time it is taking
to get any answers.
2. A new chapter charity was agreed upon. We are going to be
supporting the regional pet food drive. We have adopted Sun City K-9 Adoptions,
a local no-kill adoption agency for dogs. We can donate food, supplies,
as well as time for these animals. It’s a smaller program that recieves
less state funding but operates with more love and compassion. We are
looking forward to becoming more aquainted with the group.
3. VST Chris Knepper has decided to change our game days from 2nd and 4th
fridays over to 3rd and 4th fridays.
4. I reminded the members that I NEED them to e-mail me what they should
earn for prestige for the month by, at least, 3 days before the months end so I
have time to enter it into the report.
5. Lindsey Jacobo has also set up a charity with the Aquarium of the
Pacific. We are collecting money to donate to "adopt" a sea
creature. Proceeds from our donation go helping the enviromental efforts
of the AotP.

Part 4: Comments, Questions,
Problems & Disciplinary Actions
From
Anna: The SWRE prestige has been forwarded to National by ARC Charities &
Events Charmain Hopkins.
P: I am currently unable to access either the SW
regional list or the April/May Coordinator report in order to update the
regional prestige. Keep getting "you are forbidden to be here"
type thingy
From Anna: You can either access the reports by
putting a request into the aarc archivist James Webster and he will email you
copies. The website is temporarily being housed at
http://www.rack-networks.com/swregion/
P: ~ My
computer was so riddle with spyware and viruses I had to format my hard
drive. In doing so I there were problems
and that has caused my report to be tardy.
P: I noticed I had the wrong expiration dates for
some members, so I used the member lookup tool to get those corrected – this
report will show the correct dates. I also made I error in last month’s report,
so I’m going to fix that error in this report (it was a minor addition of 5
prestige, easily fixed). Other than that, the only thing I’ve had to do is fix
Jun Chun’s GVST prestige and Irfan Dadabhoy’s Dark Places on the Map prestige –
as a result of this fix Jun has gained 30 national (since he wasn’t credited
for his work in February, March, and April this has added 90 and subtracted 30
[since the actual award was 30 instead of 40 per month] for a net gain of 30).
Irfan, on the other hand, lost 25 national but gained 15 general (since the
award on the reports had always been 30 but the MST site had variable amounts
such as 25, 15, and so on). Sorry Irf!
P: We’re in danger of losing our chapter due to expired
memberships and transfers. None of the members of our chapter are willing to
recruit and it’s hard for me as a CC to get people jazzed. So this is why I get
sad. Any suggestions? I’ve also asked the other CCs in the domain to help and
again, no one’s willing to. *sighs* I need help. Mental or otherwise.
From
Christopher: I will be implementing a team dedicated to addressing this issue,
I would work with them in attempting to revitalize your chapter to see if those
people in it wish to continue on as a chapter, or would they prefer to perhaps
join with a sister chapter and close the doors on Luna’s Reprisal for the time
being, perhaps a little of another group of players energy will help stave off
apathy and get everyone jazzed.
P: 1. DST qualified for COR Bonus of 12 National
prestige, as noted in RST Report for February. No confirmation has appeared on
a *C report as yet. Who can we get in touch with to get this award verified and
confirmed. No response received as of 08/02/04.
Still awaiting update/additional information on this issue.
2. DC Election Completed. Rudy I. Fuentez (US2002022628) is the new
Domain Coordinator.
3. Regarding the Open Discussion and transfer of
one of our members (This issue originated in March 2004). Open Discussion completed 06/17/04.
Documentation of discussion completed (06/20/04). Additional documentation received from
designated parties. Records of
discussions to be archived until new RC is selected.
4. Approval for transfer of this member has been
received (ARC: S.L. Anna Quinn US2002023727)
Transfer effective - 07/30/04. No
further action needed at this time.
5. Member James Gaines was submitted for
participation in December
6. Several philanthropy projects are being planned
for the winter months. This will be one
of the topics of discussion during our next Domain meeting (To be scheduled).
P: We currently have a member of a nearby Domain
that may be moving and wishes to join our chapter for ease of travel. Due to
the Domain boundaries and transfer rules, he is not being allowed to transfer.
I will follow up with his current chapter coordinator if this becomes a
pressing problem for him.
From Anna: A member cannot be denied transfer if he
geographically relocates closer to another chapter or domain and chooses to relocate.
P: Update on the domain funds. Not really a
question, but this is where it was last time, so people tracking it can look
here. Kelly Barnes-Herman has sent all the receipts to Charles Bailey,
and there are strong hopes that a check for the Los Angeles Domain funds will
soon be forthcoming.
From
Anna: Some of the backdated prestige is included in this report. Please advise
the regional offices should there still be some missing.
P: There has been no problems with Vegas Stakes
this month.
P: Awaiting Resolution of Natalie Sperry's and
Mario Kellert's Regional
Prestige Reviews.
P: - We are still awaiting Richard Johnson's and
Tim Kryselmire's national
recognition awards for 6 month on-time reporting.
- The prestige awarded for Troy Wilson in the recent SW region reports
under '
hours of service donated in May and a total of 6 prestige awarded (3G and
3R). When the service drive was announced it was announced there would be
1R and 4G awarded per hour of donated service time. It appears that the
June report is also incorrect as it awards equal parts of Regional and
General prestige to those persons listed.
Questions:
From Chris: I
will be reviewing this policy to see if it is feasible to have, I will also be
reviewing the prestige reporting procedure as a whole, it is important to
maintain solid and consistent records in case of emergencies and or errors. While there should be a limit, we will
determine a reasonable time for accurate reporting and stick to it.
Q: Anyone have a ballpark idea of when we’ll have a
new RC? Also, anyone know why nobody on the Dark Places on the Map team has got
any prestige for any of the months in 2004?
From Chris: The RC election was completed at the
end of August. Have you contacted the DPOM office directly?
Q: Is anything from SWRE going to be available soon? Like maybe
prestige or cookies? Also, is there an Excel Template that one can use to plug
in Prestige earned for figuring out Caps and such? I’m looking into it for
getting all the Comic-Con Prestige together for everyone who helped out.
From
Anna: The SWRE prestige has been turned over to national by the ARC Charities
& Events. From Chris: It has been
posted as of September.
Q: Does a chapter have to have an sanctioned
mailing list?
Can a coordinator wait longer than 90 days to make a prestige award in a
report without Regional approval? (I am hearing conflicting answers, so I
figured I should ask here).
From Anna: A chapter does not have to have a
sanctioned mailing list. This was a preference of the previous. As per policy a
month ago, past 90 could only be backdated with a nod from the RC. As of now I
do not know.
From Chris: It is something that will be investigated, the
resources and time necessary will have to be reviewed as of yet, the answer has
yet to be determined.
From Anna: Contact Jana
Wright in members services. MemberServices@white-wolf.com
From Chris: I
will investigate further, but I believe everything is cleared, I will confirm
via direct email within 72 hours.
Q: -During the month of June, Joseph Moon
and Anthony Fuentes cut their hair and donated it to the Locks of Love
Organization. The following month, they held a raffle for various IC and OOC
items. We raised $105 that went directly to Locks of Love. I was wondering how
to put this for prestige for the two who donated their hair.
From Anna: You have exceptional service for
that one, donating to a charity, or the misc. catergory.
-The previous RC had the last two reports up on his
own personal site. Will these be made available elsewhere since he has removed
them?
From Anna: all of the reports are housed at
http://www.rack-networks.com/swregion/reports.htm
-Do we have a time table when the new Regional Site
can be put up for prestige verifications?
From Chris: the national prestige site can be found via the camarilla website, http://camarilla.white-wolf.com
1. Are there any
new regional or national drives going on?
From Chris:
At this time I will investigate this.
2. Chris Foster wishes
to join the domain and right the wrongs he did in the past any help with this
would be great.
From Chris:
Allow this office to investigate the issue, but I believe that such a decision
should be relegated to those who will be affected most by it, namely the domain
itself.
Q: Can I get a copy of all the past chapter reports from
DGK?
From
Anna: Please submit a request for the months that you are looking for to the
aarc archivist James Webster a jwebster@syix.com
Q: Who is the interim ARC-Prestige currently?
From Anna: Almost all of the ARC staff is intact.
Sharon Johnson is still the lead ARC prestige.
Comments:
C: Jonneth’s total prestige is now 500 over the
necessary totals for MC 12. In July,
before Peter Savas resigned, he resent her logs to National with notes to read
the log this time. She has not received
a returned log from National justifying a loss of said totals and deserves a
communication to resolve this matter, though she knows National reviewed the
logs this past month. It’s now been
pending since January. What more is
there to illustrate?
C: ~ Good by to the Sauters' as they move to the east coast.
C: I am now working with
Wes, our NC to try and resolve Bob's
missing prestige, which was previously under "questions." I will
continue to
look into this and send all the information I can.
Also, Jen was the Coordinator for ComiCon. I await her report, as she was
the residing coordinator for the event-so anyone who helped with Con will
receive their prestige next month.
C: All the transfers are pretty much done with – it
took long enough, but now that they’re all finished I can rest easy. Elections
and MC audits are my major projects right now, and they’re taking up a
substantial part of my time. I got the list access I needed to post the CC
reports, so this month everything should be on-time and ready to pretty much go
on autopilot. I’m in the process of adding Jason Webber to the chapter list –
he’ll be making his appearance this month, and I’ll be trying to get all his
stuff confirmed by the end of next month.
C: I believe everyone needs to see the film Battle Royale.
C: I hope to see the June and July Coordinator
reports reflect the prestige awards that
I have previously made comment on. Consider this a friendly reminder.
C: We have currently undergoing elections for a new
VST and will not be hosting any further events or projects until one has
been elected.
CA-056 Strange Bedfellows
C: DC Election Ball is
rolling. Took a while to find it, but it IS rolling.
CA-065 Aeternum Ludus
C: Was out of town over the weekend and my computer
went beserk and so we have
a slightly late report.
Suggestions:
S: Might be a good idea to get Arbitration out
From Anna: The ARC Arb
From
Anna: The SW Website is being housed at
http://www.rack-networks.com/swregion/
S: Get the regional website back up – that thing
was really useful, but after the previous RC made a new one for some reason it
didn’t work. What’s up with that?
From
Anna: The SW Website is being housed at
http://www.rack-networks.com/swregion/
S: If the regional staff needs help, you DO have a pool of persons
to choose from, which would be anyone who’s ever applied for a regional
assistant position. *shrugs* These are people who have already stepped up and
said in so many words ‘I want to help’. Just a thought.
