Questions/Problems from the RC & Staff:
Sent straight up from CA-037D Report:
Questions
to National from the RC: 2. Can the Domain accept
donations for "alcoholic" beverages during a game of event (To
those members who are legal drinking age)?
Reason - We would like to offer these beverage
(beer, hard lemonade, wine, etc.) in very limited quantites,
for the enjoyment of our players. This
process will allow our Domain to collect donations and also allow us to
restrain the intake and availability of these beverages. We would also
institute a rule that the only alchohol that may be
consumed is that offered by the domain.
This will reduce the amount alcohol being consumed (possibly adding a
"no more than two (2) beverages per person rule). Please advise.
From Anna: I am referring you to page 15 of the handbook. I am also sending your question to Wes to see if he has set anything in concrete that I am unaware of. |

Please give Damon feedback on who you’d like to see as the new RC (several folk
so far – Charmain is one of them). We get 4 votes as a
domain at this point for RC.
Blood drive, pet food drive – regional
Domain – canned food drive, back to school drive this month (all game fees).
Check with Damon for amounts.
We need sites! Free preferred – if we don’t have free sites, we don’t run things
like TINHARE. We are here to assist each other as well as the
STs have to have their test done by 8/31!
Several national positions are open—keep your eyes open.
For now, business as usual until the Regional stuff straightens out. Regional
assistants are still working per Wes, so if there’s any
regional needs, we can still cope with things. Temporary regional

Highlights
of Meeting Minutes: Elections were
an important topic, both for the Garou and Mage VST
slots and the CC slot. People really want to hold the CC election so it’s
official. The topic of forming a domain came up, and it was explained that the
fact that we held a chapter meeting / social meant we only needed to hold a
charity event in order to get our domain application ready. As such we are
currently planning a canned food drive – there will be more details on that in
the next report, but everyone agrees that this is probably a good idea, especially
considering the state of the local food banks in

Current
Projects:
- At a stalemate with the audits. No accurate records
are kept of the ST Recognition awards. Assistance was requested of Sharon
back and June. I assume it was lost in the shuffle. Also prestige
records that was on the
old SW Region site are no longer there and the mirror of the records on the ANC

Clarifications:
|
None this
month. |
Completed Audits:
(Some
of these audits have been forwarded to National for MC12+ approvals.) Due to
Regional Office turmoil, no audits were completed in June 2004
Prestige Audits in Queue:
AUDITS IN QUEUE
Prestige Audits in Progress:
Part 4: Comments, Questions, Problems & Disciplinary Actions
From Anna: All DC prestige has
been listed on the Regional Reports, please feel free to confer with the
archived reports at http://www.rack-networks.com/swregion/. The DC awards DST
prestige.
P: My
VST’s other than Jay Hart are NOT being recognized or
submitted for prestige by the RST in his monthly report. I have one player, Hollis
McCray US2002023904, who has been unable to be awarded prestige even though he
has reported on time for at least 6 months.
From Anna: Have
you contacted the RST staff? More than likely this is a simple oversight.
P:
Prestige reqs from members were non existant this month. Tentative hijinx
between member of P-Lost and member of Lunas Rep.
Will keep next up chain advised.
From Anna: Gotcha.
P: The ARC Outreach was referred
to me as a person who could do MC audits up to MC 8 (he counts as an
independent DC, apparently). I had my MC 7 audit and Chris Pozsgai’s
MC 7 audit sent his way, and I really haven’t heard anything from him in spite
of e-mailing him several times. Is there anyone out there who could give him a
holler so that the new CC can get a clear picture of what’s going on with those
audits?
From Anna: Done. However given
that Regional Staff is in the middle of turn over, you may want to hang in
there until the new
P: We’re in danger of losing
our chapter due to expired memberships and transfers. None of the members of
our chapter are willing to recruit and it’s hard for me as a CC to get people
jazzed. So this is why I get sad. Any suggestions?
I’ve also asked the other CCs in the domain to help and again, no one’s willing
to. *sighs* I need help. Mental or otherwise.
From Anna: Good old fashioned
bribery? Recruitment for prestige? Inside of a domain
you can go down to 5 members before you are really in jeopardy of losing your
chapter. At that point it gets a little bit despondent. Are there any places
that your members frequent that may boost recruitment with a flyer or two?
P: * Non-existant website links for Regional and National prestige
has held up audits at the CC level for a number of months at this point (I am
not sending them up, cause why send something up that is just going to be sent
back down for a problem that you know is there). In particular, I am
looking at ST Recognition Awards and SWRC Reports previous to August 2002.
From Anna:
Have you requested help in tracking down these links from either the Regional
or National prestige staff? Your best bet is going to be getting ahold of the prestige staff and/or the technology people
who posted it.
* The DC has not reported for two months. I am taking active measures to
assist her to help her make the coming report.
From Anna:
Awesome.
P: 1. DST qualified for COR Bonus
of 12 National prestige, as noted in RST Report for February. No confirmation
has appeared on a *C report as yet. Who can we get in touch with to get this
award verified and confirmed. No response received as
of 08/02/04. Still
awaiting update/additional information on this issue.
From Anna: I would suggest that
you forward the specific email to the RC, (cc’ing
me). Then he has the ability to make sure it is included in the next months
report.
2. Regarding the Open Discussion
and transfer of one of our members (This issue originated in March 2004). Open Discussion completed 06/17/04.
Documentation of discussion completed (06/20/04). Additional documentation received from
designated parties. Records
of discussions to be archived until new RC is selected.
3. Approval for transfer of this
member has been received (ARC: S.L. Anna Quinn US2002023727) Transfer effective - 07/30/04. No further action needed at this time.
4. Awaiting final approval on
prestige review for Anthony "Tony" Grant, US2002034054, MC9, Domain
review completed August 6, 2004.
P: The
changing of the VSS has been a major problem for some of our members as many of
them do not have constant email access. I believe that I have met with most of
these members personally to make sue that their transfer goes smoothly. There has always been a lot of problems in the chapter with the
retention of a consistent storyteller and loosing our VSS is just one more
example of this. We are hoping that when the new system is implemented, we will
create a new VSS and start fresh for the future.
From Anna: I am sorry
for the turmoil. If there is anything I can do to help let me know. Thanks for
hanging in there Cory.
Also, I have not been able to contact my DC Sandra Stewart for several
months now. I am not sure where she is or if my emails are not getting to her.
I have not received prestige or seen a domain report since April.
From Anna: Your DC has been
incommunicado, this has attracted Regional attention and we are attempting to
resolve it. Once again, thank you for hanging in there.
P: Lucas Powell is still waiting
for his transfer request to go through from the nw region.
From Anna: The moment we receive
his transfer request from his coordinator chain I will start on it. If they are
not responding in a reasonable amount of time, please feel free to forward me
their contact information. Thanks!
P: 1: Awaiting Resolution of
Natalie Sperry's and Mario Kellert's Regional
Prestige Reviews.
From Anna: Progress of Regional
audits in listed in the Prestige section of this report.
Questions:
Q: Repeat from July
report: I have heard that National finally resolved issues with Jarrod Iversen's MC. However, is it possible that copies of
the letter announcing his grant of MC 9 please be forwarded to the chapter
email address so that I can properly track this? Thanks. Until told
otherwise, I am assuming that the MC decision gave him the minimum prestige
required for that MC.
Is it possible to get updated on
the status of the pending MC approvals we have going? As a new
member/coordinator of this chapter I don't really know at what stage this stuff
is stuck. Thanks.
From Anna: I am going to refer you
to the ANC Prestige in this situation. Email addy is
US-ANC-Prestige@cfl.rr.com
From Anna: Revote was cast and
announced. Congrats Diana!
Q:
Where is the July Report?
From Anna: Done.
http://www.rack-networks.com/swregion/
Q: I have
spoken with Regional Staff regarding Regional Prestige awarded to Bob Jansen in
October 1997. I have then spoken extensively with Wes Contreras on this. Is
there any news on this?
From Anna:
I would suggest that you direct that question to the person on regional staff whom you were speaking with. If that is not possible I would
suggest you send an exploratory email directly to the RC or myself
following up.
Q: Could the RC contact the ARC
Outreach about my prestige audit? Apparently there’s a problem with some of my
prestige from my “pre-Elsinore-transfer” period. I’m
sure a little work can get that all nice and cleared up.
From Anna: Done.
Q: Is anything from SWRE going
to be available soon? Like maybe prestige or cookies?
From Anna: Done
From
Anna: It is still in the works. It takes quite a bit of time to take care of a
huge project like that and Lisa Schoop has been working diligently on it.
From Anna: I am referring you to page 15 of the handbook. I am
also sending your question to Wes to see if he has set anything in concrete
that I am unaware of.
Q: Our DST & VST are looking to nominate someone for regional prestige for the following reason: "I would like to nominate Bryce Barrow for 10 regional prestige for "Exceptional Service". His position is as the Rules AVST, yet he undertook assisting me in running a huge event sized scene involving at least 35people if not 40. He really helped with organizing everything and eventhough the scene took 2 hours we were able to resolve most of it. I do feel that if anyone should be able to get exceptional service it is him for what happened. He did work above and beyond the call of duty. Most of our games are the size of a small event, and this one was the size of a small regional event. We had probably a good 60 p eople or more attending it. Bryce was fair and equal more so then a lot of people would be if they were put in his position.Summary of the above paragraph: Bryce Barrow nominated for 10 regionalprestige for "Exceptional Service" " End Quote What is the how would your office like this dealt with.
From Anna: An aware of exceptional
service is ultimately the decision of the coordinator and can be given at any
time. However, in a situation like this where the person is fulfilling their
job duties to an exceptional degree it is normally covered in a boost of the
prestige they receive that month, possibly to cap for going above and beyond.
From Anna: Kelly’s log is in the
regional queue for a transfer audit, however he may earn prestige in that time
as long as no award is made to his MC class. His log was forwarded to your DC.
Q: -Some of
the members were wondering what happened to the Regional Website. I know there
was a reason, but it has been a while. I was wondering if this could be expalined?
Also, the clone site is great - but is there an ETA when a new regional site
will be up?
-The previous RC had the last two
reports up on his own personal site. Will these be made available elsewhere
since he has removed them?
-Some of the members were awarded
Regional Prestige for various bits. They have email verification, but due to
the switch of RCs and such - they are wondering how to
go about certifying it.
From Anna: The regional web site
is being housed at http://www.rack-networks.com/swregion/
for an undetermined period of time. All of the reports are housed on this site.
This is not the previous RC’s personal site, this is a site owned by the ARC
Technologies Nicko Demeter. As for certifying regional awards, I suggest that
you advise your members to retain copies of those emails and included them with
all audits.
Q: How long
does it take to complete a transfer?
From Anna:
It averages me between 3 days and one week to finish a transfer depending on
response time of the coordinators involved. Some transfers take quite a bit
longer to achieve due to breakdown in communication. I am not currently in
possession of a transfer request from any member of the
What is the
minimum distribution required for a local newsletter to
qualify as prestige-worthy?
From Anna:
Minimum distribution would be to an entire chapter.
Q: 1) Are there any new regional or
national drives going on? Moved over from last month.
2)
I have two members with pending reviews for MC advancement.
I need help from regional with their Audits. Can someone contact me please
From Anna: Please contact the ARC
prestige offices directly for your review questions. Regional and national
drives have been rolled over for several months and no new drives have been
announced that I am aware of.
From Anna: I added you to
the list and forwarded your report, you are fine.
From Anna: deep dark raspberry
purple-y pink.
Q: When will the Regional
coordinator staff be in a position to run the Domain
elections here in
From Anna: I put forth the all call(for DC) one week
ago and the process is underway. Thanks!
Q: Are VSTs
required to be at both Chapter and Domain meetings as they are now Domain level
officers, or can they be awarded prestige for attending one of them?
From Anna: Attending domain
meetings is part of their job description.
Comments:
C: Since this is my Last Official
Report EverTM (If I can help it!!!!), I have just a
few words to share. I promise to make them amusing, but worth reading.
I think these reports have gotten redundant and cause people to be able to take
themselves far too seriously. This is a gaming club, people. Get
over your bad middle management selves and play the game for fun again. I
want to sing publically again and show off in hot
costumes with my husband. Especially now I have a sports car too.
See – there are more important things than these stupid reports. Like our
families, and hanging out out of game with people we
can laugh with, and getting higher degrees in school (my husband and I are
having a race to see who can get their PhD first – so much more meaningful than
Afters at IHOP, bitching about each other).
I see the game disintegrating into a meta-gaming and cheating hell, with zenophobia and prejudicial slander being the word on the
street. Some people milk the prestige system doing nothing compared to
what we used to do around here, some people use their positions of power to
hurt others and to make sure their friends succeed, and it’s making a bad name
for the rest of us. If people don’t stop acting like they wished they had
in high school, the Club will probably not die, but it will never
recover. You can’t fix a broken system once people have learned that’s
the way the game is played and find ways to benefit at the expense of
others.
This Club is more political than the current race for President. How
awesomely wrong is that?
Anyway, I would love for the coolness to come back to the Club, without the
rest. I miss my old friends, and I miss wanting to game.
Check ya’ll out again as soon as it’s cool again.
C: Wish
to congratulate the new SWRC, Chris Williams on being elected.
From Anna: I
second that. Welcome Chris, you are an amazing addition to the Regional Staff.
C: The Trial Membership offer is a
great idea, and will help with our recruiting. Thanks!
C: I am
still awaiting documents from Scott’s prior Coordinator, and per Liam, our DC’s
dictum, I will not include Scott in my reports until various information has
been passed on. Thus, he does not appear below.
C: The chapter just keeps growing.
Several members are interested in transferring (although we had to turn away
one). Members are hyped up about the new game. Everyone’s interested in the
fact that we’ll be able to form a domain as soon as we do a charity event
(because we’d really like to be able to actually vote in regional elections –
not being able to participate in the club because we’re an independent chapter
is pretty lame). Either way, I expect some transfers in pretty soon, and maybe
a transfer out – but that’s all the new CC’s problem, so I’m sure they’ll have
a good time with it.
C: AVP was a fun movie, but I’m
really excited about Resident Evil 2. BTW, Congrats to
everyone who’s just been appointed (Chris and Jed!) I hope we do our job
smoothly so you can do yours smoothly
C:
The
long awaited charity BBQ prestige from last year is
finally being posted on this report. The domaoin
received permission
from the regional office just prior to Pete stepping down to backdate
over 90 days. This prestige had been havinga horrible time getting to
the appropriate coordinators so any prestige below flagged (BBQ) is
being backdated from Sept, of 2003.
C: Welcome
RC-Note J
C: 1. Please note the change of Domain
Coordinator. New DC is Nicko Demeter US2003122606.
2. Please note that we no longer offer a Sabbat Venue.
C: I apologize for not getting a
report out last month. I have just recently been officially given this position
and have been gathering all the chapter information in order to send out
reports. I try to be a very prompt
person and I hate to send things in late. I am not to holding a full
position, so please bare with me.
I am also seeing who desires to join Supersized and
seeing that they get into the chapter as quickly as
they can.
Suggestions:
S: With the new administration along with the impending new system I'd like to see an effort made at a regional level to make a calendar of events monthly. Perhaps some sort of online form that a domain could fill out that would populate onto a calendar so that people who happen to be traveling would have one place to reference to try and track down a game. At least When games are run and contact info for someone who would know where it was being run.
