Questions/Problems from the RC & Staff:

From Admin Office:

Very few reports are in format which is making it difficult. I don’t know which chapters have been technically shut down and I can remove from the report at this point. My chapter/domain totals aren’t correct, I need help from National on this. We have many chapters/domains that have not reported in 6+ months with no member activity, can we shut them down?

FROM RC: My first response is yes, but I will confirm with National on the requirements for shutting down a Chapter, and if there are any deviations from the information set about in the Membership Handbook, I would also like to develop a “Salvage Plan” so that the members of said decommissioned chapter can be contacted and relocated if still interested in membership.  I would advise selecting a member of the Administration Office to begin a “Signal Test” contacting each chapter and getting a personalized status update, give them a “three strikes in three weeks” policy wherein that Officer submits a “dead signal” list which we will then submit to National for their feedback and possible decommissioning.

This report is very very late on my part. I am trying to take care of a plethora of real life issues, and the majority of my staff had real life issues this month as well. We have revamped the report to make it easier and more user friendly. Comments, concerns, and suggestions are always welcomed. If we can do it better, let us know!

FROM RC: Understood, we are all human, and it’s the holidays, thank you for your hard work.

From Member Review:

When a member transfers into and out of the SW or a domain on the local level, the previous policy was to audit their logs all the way up to where their points meet.  For example, if a member were to transfer from one domain to the neighboring domain, would it not be the responsibility of the regional office to audit their logs?  There are a great many logs within this queue that are for just that.  And yet, these members are applying for and receiving MC advances within their new domain when they have not passed a regional audit at all.  Members that transfer out of the SW, or into it, were asked to submit their logs for this regional office and have their alternate region audit their logs and national is given the opportunity to audit them as well.  And yet I dont see this happening.  The logs stuck in this queue represent a small number of members who have moved around in the last year, however I know of many who have relocated and joined a new domain without going through the regional process.  I assume this will be much harder when the icamarilla stuff gets up and running and logs are assigned through it, but that doesnt fix things in the meantime.  What is the stance of this office supposed to be for those who choose not to follow the strictures that were previously in place?

FROM THE RC: My stance on transfer audits will be as follows.  The level of Audit necessary to receive that MC will be needed to transfer into a location within the Southwest.  Meaning, if a member has MC 1 thru 5 and is transferring into the region (from either within it or from outside it) that member is required to have their MC reviewed by their incoming CC and have that CC inform the Coordinator Chain of it’s completion before it will be confirmed, no further auditing will be necessary.  If a member has MC 6 thru 8 and is transferring into the region (as above) that member is required to have their MC reviewed by their incoming CC and DC who will inform the Coordinator Chain of it’s completion before it will be confirmed, no further auditing will be necessary.  If a member has MC 9 thru 11 and is transferring into the region (as above) that member is required to have their MC reviewed by their incoming CC, DC, and Regional Staff who will inform those necessary in the Coordinator Chain of it’s completion before it will be confirmed, no further auditing will be necessary.  National Audits will be confirmed with National if necessary.  Outgoing members will be treated with the same respect.   You have my authorization to search the cue for transfer audits that are below MC9 and approve them as transferred if their CCs (and DCs if necessary) have approved said transfer.

When will the icamarilla database be up and running?  Is there an ETA?

FROM THE RC: The ETA we were given the beginning of the year, early January (February at the latest), as far as we have been able to discern development goes apace.

When will the MST prestige site be up and running?

FROM THE RC: At this time I am allowing the current MST prestige site with the information that is available to be used as authorization for Prestige review, it is understood that some information is being added, but for the time good, consider it fully sanctioned and greenlighted for this office’s use.

I have submitted previously that I dont actually exist on regional reports in the prestige section, and I was missed for SWRE prestige.  Chris and Anna have both told me that it will be fixed.  As I havent seen the fix yet, Im including it in this report.  It concerns prestige (sort of).

FROM THE RC: This issue was resolved in the September report.

Called to order at 1805

Thanks to Ellis for providing game site – please remember this is a private home.  Don’t touch computer, please respect privacy of the back rooms.

>From Damon:

SWRE prestige is out! It’s up on the regional site (Charmain also e-mailed the URL to the OOC list).

If you are going to ICC, you need to see Damon ASAP for MC cards.  Prestige has been done off the Database. Bosco (actually, Harley) will have the cards after tonight.

Regional Drives are still in effect: Blood drive, Pet food drive.

We need to find game sites!  It’s getting cooler, so outdoor sites are again an option.  Please get with Jen Boyd if you have ideas/offers.

Upcoming events:

Abigail’s “release” party will be at the Street Game.

Garou apocalypse game will be the day of ICC.

For members attending ICC – at ICC:

Please watch out for each other (literally, watch each other’s backs), especially/including at the Succubus Club.  With 3,000 or so people, things can escalate very quickly.

While you’re at ICC, volunteer for something!  It only takes a little of your time, and there’s plenty to volunteer for… plus, it’s National Prestige!

Please don’t repeat rumors.

>From Harley –

If you’re going to ICC, you need your characters signed off – See Harley ASAP!  Remember, you will need your build notes and XP histories.  Don’t forget to have concise documentation on out-of-clan disciplines (who from/cam #) or these will be removed from your character sheet!

You will need 2 copies of your character, plus one for every day you will be playing it (to be safe).

Damon reminds us that the 1st day of ICC is a madhouse – so get your sheets together and signed before you go.

Again from Harley: He will be at Sabbat to sign off sheets, and can be reached at other times.  He will re-circulate his phone number for that purpose.

Remember the approvals database is a COMMUNICATION tool – use it!

Any questions please e-mail Harley.

>From Bryan Cartwright:

Sorry for e-mail response delays/no response, he’s had e-mail problems.  He is likely to step down as Court VST after the end of the chronicle… he may continue after December, but is uncertain at this time.  If you can’t get information from/to Bryan, please send to Jeremy Thio.

>From Ellis:

National Nominations for ST/Coord. – Information is available on the website (and forwarded by Ellis to the lists).  There are prizes for the winners, so please send in your nominations.

>From Jeremy Thio:

Jeremy is AVST for nearly everyone, so if having communication troubles feel free to e-mail him (as he says he has no life anyway).

Again from Bryan:

He will be available to sign sheets until the end of Street game.  He will be at ICC, and could sign off sheets in an emergency, but please be considerate and get this done ahead of time.

Meeting closed aprox 1830.

To Be Determined (November canceled due to deployment)

Highlights of Meeting Minutes:

Discussed the events which are going to occur in the next chronicle and informed the membership which attended of my responsibilities as the ARC arbitration. I also covered the events which took place at the South West Regional meeting, mostly the challenge between the South Central… wherever that place is, and our Lovely Region.

Current Projects:

Garou VST election is still on going, we have one candidate and the infamous none of the above running. The election should be closed very shortly, so that the VST can be formally placed into office.

Working to get several more Transfers done, Aaron Sturtz wishes to Transfer from AZ-010-D to Tithe of Souls. I have no issue with this, though I will need to look over his prestige logs, and send them to Chris and Damon to look over. This is from last month, I still need to accomplish this task.

Highlights of Meeting Minutes:

Items discussed were, Recruitment drive, and adoption of the local Red Cross for support. Hollis McCray reported to the chapter his current progress on developing the new chronicle and VSS. A chapter social was held on Oct 2nd attending the movies with barbeque following.

Current Projects:

Chapter Recruitment Drive-I have continued to maintain the sites regularly to support our drive. This has stalled a bit as several individuals have shown but not committed.  Still we are working towards our goal of recruitment of several more members before the new chronicle starts. We are also pushing the 6 month membership to those interested but unsure of joining the cam.

Prestige Review-I have submitted myself for MC 7 review and Jeremy Ambrose is still pending his MC 6 review, it has been in the queue since June. Barbara Hart is also due for a review but we are waiting until the status of the two pending reviews are resolved

Planning Chapter Event: It has been proposed that we hold a chapter event here in Sierra Vista and invite anyone that wishes to attend, specifically those who could not make ICC this year. We will be sending out announcements as details become available.

Application for Domain Status: We have applied for domain status during the month of October; we have met all requirements for approval but must have a favorable recommendation from the RC as we are less than 10 members.

Highlights of Meeting Minutes:

Held a storyteller meeting to explain the Garou and Mage VST situation. Both the Garou and Mage storytellers are up for election (Garou due to his term being up, Mage because she didn't take the Membership and Storyteller Ordeals). Also explained some of the events at the Sabbat game and some of the current Year of Fire stuff going on. We then went on to hold the chapter meeting, in which we explained that several members would be transferring, made everyone aware of some of the new members that joined our chapter, and held an open forum for chapter issues. Elections were an important topic, both for the Garou and Mage VST slots and the CC slot. People really want to hold the CC election so it's official. The topic of forming a domain came up, and it was explained that the fact that we held a chapter meeting / social meant we only needed to hold a charity event in order to get our domain application ready. As such we are currently planning a canned food drive ? there will be more details on that in the next report, but everyone agrees that this is probably a good idea, especially considering the state of the local food banks in Riverside County. People seem pretty opposed to the idea of splitting into 2 chapters to become a domain, although we were told we would have to do so by the previous RC in order to get our application approved. Now that there will be a new RC, this doesn't seem like it will be a requirement, and people are more enthusiastic. Once we felt like we had debated those issues enough, we order pizza and commenced the social.

Current Projects:

Work on Domain Paperwork, Elect ALL of our VSTs, Prepare Prestige Audits for new RC (Chris Pozsgai, David Mercer), Work on transfers for Jason Weber, Mary Wior. A Changeling venue has been started. The canned food collection for Second Harvest Food Bank will end in November. The permanent cell phone drive has been launched.

Rising Sun CC Election (Meghan Smith is the new CC as of Oct 27, 2004)

Rocky Point Haunted House

The Domain is supporting the Rocky Point Haunted House, which raises money for the Greater Salt Lake Boys and Girls Club. Approximately 30 members of the domain are participating this year and are part of a cast of over 300 actors. As a side benefit, we have approximately 15 new or pending members recruited from the cast. The Domain members participating have volunteered over 2300 hours during the October in addition to the 1900 plus hours in September. Several members have been recommended for exceptional prestige below.

Now that Haunted House season is over, I am looking forward to returning to a normal gaming schedule.

DC Election / The voting period ends at midnight tonight.

DST Election / A call for Applications has recently gone out.

AZ-009 Que Sera Sera

Problem

Jeremy Ambrose is still pending since June of this year his MC 6 Review, could we please get a status on that?

It is still in the audit queue as pending. All audits in queue are listed in every regional report so you can check status on a monthly basis. You are also free to contact the Member Review offices at your leisure to check on status.

CA-024 Maledorium

Problem

Gina D'Agostino helped set up balloons and such at Garou at SWRE. She says she did sign in and out. She is not listed for receiving any prestige. Can we remedy this please?

BJ James narrated for Joe Barrett in a mortals game at SWRE and received no prestige for it. Can we remedy this?

Response

We need to check in with the specific leads for these different situations directly. For the SWRE questions, please contact the convention chair Charmain Hopkins at sw_events@hotmail.com.  Please contact Joe Barrett directly for clarification on narration. Emails from the presiding coordinators are sufficient for prestige audits.

CA-030 Luna’s Reprisal

Problem

I'd like to know if there's hijinx involving members of my chapter. People refusing to do conflict resolution isn't going to solve matters if people won't do it.

Hijinx? Not that I am aware of. You may want to consider spa treatments to ease and abate the stress. I suggest deep tissue massages followed by seaweed facials.

Problem

Due to lack of interest in the San Rafael area and with the majority of our  members now living in cities outside the San Rafael boundaries and our only venue style sheet getting suspended, we will be closing down the chapter. This will probably happen some time next month, details to follow.

Answer

I am sorry to hear that Cory, we offer our services for anything we can do to help you. If you need anything, drop an email.

"Domain of Salt Lake City, UT-014-D, SALT LAKE COUNTY UTAH -- 2004/07" shows "VST Cam/Anarch Independents" prestige entries for Dineh Tores with no award values. I will report this on each report until I get clear award values for this award.

I also have an entry on the same report which shows no prestige value.

Response

I am unsure as to what you would like us to do. This sounds like a reporting issue. Is it somehow a reporting issue with the regional offices?

What should the next beer be named?

Red headed harlot. Obviously it has to be a full bodied amber, but still think about how cool the label could be…

Have one new member, Dan Humfeld, and one old returning member, Michael Jackson.  Also, held Chapter vote for new Chapter Coordinator, Michael Jackson was voted in as the new CC of HSC.  New CC needs to be added to the SW Coordinators list and to the Reports list.

Congrats Mike! Let me know if you did not make it onto the appropriate lists.

I am still awaiting documents from Scott's prior Coordinator, and per Liam, our DC's dictum, I will not include Scott in my reports until various information has been passed on. Thus, he does not appear below.

Comment:

This is a very long report as I am now tracking all VG members' prestige at chapter level effective this month, as the domain has utterly failed in it's tracking of all domain members, a responsibility usurped through divine proclamation (a.k.a. Domain Policy) last July.
I encourage all VG members to check this report for accuracy against their own logs. If there are any errors, ommissions, or prestige which has been tallied more than once, please contact me at ooc at uk2.net.
This is formal notification that it is now Velvet Glove "Chapter Policy" that we track our own prestige, we aren't forbidding the domain from doing the same if they wish. This is due to the misserable failure of the domain to have tracking of our members in it's report.
The redundancy of tracking and reporting items at a chapter and domain level may cause some confusion, therefore to ease the compilation of reports based on this one I will be marking each *NEW* prestige award on this and following report with an asterisk by the date.
New totals in this report are generated based on the totals on my last tracking report adding the prestige awarded since then, except for Jamin Wilson (myself) who's total is based on the last tracked domain level report.
I have not yet gleened the regional or national reports for any prestige which may have been awarded since the last tracking report was issued by myself. I will do that on my next report.
Please notify me when the transfer of Chris Warswick US2002022903 from PA-001-C to UT-014-D is complete, as he has requested to join VG UT-008-C.
I also spoke with "Shorty", who's membership lapsed this month on the 30th. He says he intends to renew his membership with the new chronicle, so I will wait until the next report or so to remove him from the roster.
It has been requested by a chapter member that a domain referendum be held to determine if we should cut the current DST's term short so a new DST can be elected which will be running the new chronicle and can be involved in the pre-history planning of WoD2.
Another option would be to hold the next election early for DST so we can know who the next DST will be and have the person act in an ADST position until the next DST term of office is started to help us transition into the new chronicle easier.

Tracking totals this month will probably be a bit off from the audit total in the domain due to the fact that these are based on pre-audit totals. Can you please send me the domain audit results so I can be more accurate here?

Response:

I will assume that the majority of that was aimed towards your supervising coordinator and I will fail to answer unless specifically requested for clarification.
