Questions/Problems from the RC & Staff:

From Admin Office:

Question/

Concearns

I am a bit concerned about the SW phenomenon which involves a really low reporting ratio. We were doing awesome for a little bit and it seems like *C’s are starting to give up again. I’ve extended my offer of help, and I would appreciate all the regional staff extending the same courtesy to their local chapters and domains.

We’ve had an issue at a regional level with everything being at a standstill. We are voicing our concern to the RC and the NC that things seems to be stagnating a bit and sitting at the RC level. I will admit I have little patience for this due to previous personal issues, so there is a very good chance I cannot be a non biased outside observer.

I want to get this staff cohesive, communicating, and productive. For all of the staff who are working their butts off thank you. I am hoping that things are handled in the next few weeks and we can get a move on with helping our region come into its own.

Response

Your issues are understood and we will be working towards educating and rewarding those staff members who better learn to communicate effectively, I will also be looking for methods in other regions to see how best to encourage (or penalize) good (or poor) reporting behavior.

From Member Review:

1. SUMMARY -

Zip, Zilch, Nada.  Despite my questions regarding what is supposed to be going on, there has been nothing.  With no direction, no authorization to proceed, and no information about what is happening I am completely ineffectual.  I am BEGGING for SOMETHING to happen.  I don't have a copy of a S.O.P. that should at some point go into effect.  WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!?

2. CURRENT AUDITS IN PROGRESS - None currently, still on hold per the RC.

6   PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

Problem

- Some members have been in the queue for months on end.  I would like to get updates from all the members and their coords for the prestige they may have accrued in the meantime.  Their choice, really, as to whether or not they want to resubmit their prestige.  This would not change their place in the queue, only their totals.

- I looked through the archives and my personal records and I didn't find Steven Whitelock's transfer prestige log.  As such, I don't know if the stricture for under/over MC 9 applies to him.  I need to have it resubmitted.  Unfortunately, I don't have the contact information either.  I'll try to track it down.

- The National Prestige Search Engine is up and running.  There are some duplications of entries that the membership at large should be aware of.  National has cleared the regional prestige offices to submit copies of the prestige that has been awarded by their offices.  As there is nothing going on in the prestige queue for unknown reasons, I would like to temporarily (and as time permits) have the auditors comb through the reports for prestige recommendations.  These recommendations would be cross-referenced to the current search engine to prevent duplications and then submitted to national for inclusion.  This would clear up some of the problems with finding the results and it help in prestige reviews in the future.

Response

Acknowledged.

7.  QUESTIONS/CONCERNS -

Question

When will a copy of the SOP be provided to me to review?

Response

Submitted mid January for staff review.

9. COMMENTS

Comment

3 months of nothing.  When will this be corrected

Response

See above, projected office restructuring to occur

-Found April and June 2002 Regional reports.
-Finished through Jan 2003.  Project progressing as free time allows.

-Gave Roo James reports requested 12/11.

-Diana Brokl made a request that I lost the e-mail.  Communicating

From Publications:

Publications: Ellis Templar, US2002021244, 13 Dec 2004
Summary:

Lot's of nothing this month. We could publish a larger version of the
San Diego Domain Newsletter, but we are NOT getting any submissions
from the Region. Loren has been trying to drum up more support, and
quite frankly, I've been rather hands off this month due to a number
of factors, but we are facing the single greatest obstacle to having a
large newsletter ever: No one actually submits their work. Loren is
hoping to increase travel for game the next few weeks, and is hoping
to drum up support. I was asked to also make a note of doing so in my
travels, but my travels will be much more restricted due to an
upcoming family addition, so I doubt I will have much opportunity to
drum support in person.

*** WE NEED SUBMISSIONS!!! ***
- If you're a member in good standing, bring them in!

Questions:

Question

No response to this, so I'll be including once more, and forwarding
this to Kevin M as well:

***Any problem having an IC section that can be heavily used by both
the Regional ST team as well as any V/DSTs who wish to
publish/share/involve their plots with the region, or put them out
there for pickup by PCs in the region? I have NOT spoken to Kevin M on
this yet, but I've been mulling the ideas of how to make it work, I
still like the idea, the logistics just need some tuning and your
go-ahead.

Response

Acknowledged.

Problems:

Problem

I'll be re-broadcasting submission calls shortly. Releasing a January
edition will only be highlighting the San Diego Area's work, and not
the region's. If the problem continues however for February, I will
release whatever we have as the regional newsletter, in the hopes that
others will begin contributing as well. I'm not sure what else we can
do to drum up more participation.

Response

Acknowledged.

From Outreach:

From Events:

1. Current Events

For the first quarter of 2005, we'll hold a Regional clothing drive.  Also a blood drive for the year.  I'm hoping to see an increase in participation for the regional charity drives, especially with ICC taking place in October in Phoenix.

2.  PROBLEMS/SOLUTIONS

Problem

I still haven't seen any prestige awarded for backdated charity drives included in my last report.  I still have several people asking about this, and am concerned with the possibility of people losing the prestige they've earned.

Response

There are several members listed in Prestige Recommendations, if there are people missing then send this list of people to the Regional Charities Office, also send in any information regarding the confirmation from the Regional Office that set the standards, qualifications and pre-approved prestige award numbers.

3. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS

Question /

Concern

None at this time other than awarding backdated prestige.  I would appreciate a response regarding the award of prestige so I can tell people about backdated charity donations.

Response

Again, I have had a difficulty in finding information regarding the regional sponsorship of these former charitites, if you could submit this information to the Charities office we can go about awarding the necessary prestige awards.

It has been decided that Paradise of Thorns is going to disband as part of the Camarilla and go troupe. The reasons for this are really varied and individual to each member so I won't go into them here. I took a vote from the members (the ones who responded) and the tally is listed below:

For the Dissolution:

No one voted against the dissolution and the people voting in favor outnumber the rest of the unreachables, so the Domain is officially folding.

If you need contact information, you may continue to use my name and number and I will be more than happy to assist with anything that still needs to be done.

Thanks for the great time! We'll still be around, just not connected to the global chronicle.

Since Erik Uriarte stepped down from the position of
Chapter Coordinator, I (Roo) have been trying to get the chapter’s prestige up to date and to get some sort of report out to the list before the chapter goes black. I talked to Mr. Williams about the situation, and his advice was to do one large report that would encompass multiple months worth of prestige. Unfortunately, I need to know where individual members stand in terms of their prestige before I feel comfortable writing the updated report.

Recently a group of Domain Members went to Pavarello house to wrap gifts for impoverished youngsters.  While there a few of us were recruited to help make lunches for the many shelters supplied by the Pavarello house kitchen.  Elections were held for the VSTs of Garou and Changeling venues as well as the newly approved Mortals venue.  The results are as posted above.

Highlights of Meeting Minutes:

Minutes from last meeting: Held a storyteller meeting to explain the
Garou and Mage VST situation. Both the Garou and Mage storytellers are up for election (Garou due to his term being up,
Mage because she didn't take the Membership and Storyteller
Ordeals). Also explained some of the events at the Sabbat game and
some of the current Year of Fire stuff going on. We then went on
to hold the chapter meeting, in which we explained that several
members would be transferring, made everyone aware of some of the new members that joined our chapter, and held an open forum for chapter issues.
Elections were an important topic, both for the Garou and Mage VST slots and the CC slot. People really want to hold the CC election so it's official. The topic of forming a domain came up,
and it was explained that the fact that we held a chapter meeting
/ social meant we only needed to hold a charity event in order
to get our domain application ready. As such we are currently
planning a canned food drive ? there will be more details on that in the next report, but everyone agrees that this is probably a good idea, especially considering the state of the local food banks in
Riverside County. People seem pretty opposed to the idea of splitting into 2 chapters to become a domain, although we were told we would have to do so by the previous RC in order to get our application approved. Now that there will be a new RC, this doesn't seem like it will be a requirement, and people are more enthusiastic. Once we felt like we had debated those issues enough, we order pizza and commenced the social.

Current Projects:

Work on Domain Paperwork, Prepare Prestige Audits for David Mercer and Chris Poszgai, Work on transfers for Jason Weber, Mary Wior. The permanent cell phone drive is continuing.

I have been trying to work with Pearce and Wes about old Storyteller Recognition Awards.  I have received support from Irfan, and he supplied all of his records to Pearce.  The last communication I have from Pearce is from 12/1/2004, asking for the tables of information once again from Irfan.  The issue will need to be followed up by my successor.

The prestige audit of Erik Clippard is still in progress.  We are trying to clarify an award.

I am currently awaiting the prestige audit process to be freed up on the Regional level before Geoff Van Ess’ log is submitted.

I am still assisting Erik Clippard in taking on the role of Chapter
Coordinator of The Dragon’s Coils.  His report will be forthcoming.  The holiday season has delayed the transition.

Adriann Dennis as the ADC General and Joe Baker are my
crack team of Prestige Wranglers in the project to get Moustique Noir prestige squared away. They were going to be named the crack squad of prestige-sniffing monkeys, but that seemed a little mean, and neither of them really deserves that sort of epithet.

Part 4: Comments, Questions, Problems & Disciplinary Actions

All questions are answered by Anna Quinn US2002023727, Chief of Staff, bleedingcontempt@aol.com

Unless otherwise noted.

Problems:

AZ-009 Que Sera Sera

Problem

Que sera sera, AZ-009 I is still not being shown within the iCam database and I am not being shown as the chapter coordinator.

Response

From RC: We are in communication with the National Tech Administrator to get a contact person set up to fix the database.

CA-018 Paradise Lost

Problem

We as chapter staff do not have access to iCamarilla as CC
to check membership renewals and whatnot.  The same holds true for the
domain.

Response

From RC: We are in communication with the National Tech Administrator to get a contact person set up to fix the database.

CA-022 Dark Tower

Problem

I have not been informed of or asked to intervene in any issues between domain members this month.

Response

Okey dokey.

CA-030 Luna’s Reprisal

Problem

None that I know of aside from Luna’s is still in desperate need of members, as they are losing two. One to transfer and one to just letting his membership lapse.

Response

Has your DC shown any interest or offered any suggestion for helping with the problem? The first coordinator to help you in your chain is your DC as it is in his best interest to keep membership up in his domain. Let me know if you need further assistance.

CA-037 Twilight Chronicles

Problem

1. I am still awaiting final approval on prestige review for Anthony "Tony" Grant, US2002034054, MC9, Domain review completed August 6, 2004.  Awaiting final approval for MC9.  Please contact me so that we can concluded this review processs - Awaiting update since August of 2004.
2. We are still awaiting the coordination of our Domain Storyteller election.  No recent updates as this time.  I have contacted Anna Quinn (SWARC) and Chris Williams (SWRC), no additional information received from regional elections officers.
3. We have several members who's membership expires this month.  I will be contacting those members via e-mail to verify whether or not they will be renewing their membership throught the month of Janauary 2005.  The primary reason for this lapse is that members believe their membership was good until the end of 01/2005.

Response

1.        Thanks for your patience, the prestige queue is still on hold.

2.        We’ve let the RST staff know, please continue to follow up with them. As you have been informed this is not something that the RC staff handles.

3.        A grace period is given to the end of the month for any renewals, as long as they are paid by Jan 31st they are fine-they simply weren’t eligible for early renewal prestige.

CA-051 The Domain of Myst

Problem

In the August 2004 Domain Coordinator Report, a request for the Region to backdate General Prestige Awards for members of the Domain was made.  I have recently reviewed the reports since and have found no comment in any report addressing the issue, either making the awards or denying them.  They are as follows:

Problem:

Sharon Johnson US2002034814 has received updated awards for her job as a Regional Project Manager.  Simply waiting on the SWRE prestige for her to be updated.

Response:

CA-064 Bitter Sanctuary

Problem:

I am sounding the alarm. Interest for Requiem is at an all-time low. Tomorrow we will
attempt to meet to determine if we will even have a Requiem Venue! Our VSS never got through properly which resulted in our players not having an approved character which ultimately is now resulting in people dropping out of the game and the Camarilla. Our DST
due to all those problems resigned. I am afraid we are in dire need of assistance. I need a member of the RST staff to contact me.

Response:

Was this taken care of? I am sorry to hear that you are having issues, let me know what I can do to help. You have my email.

UT-004 Rising Sun

Problem

Still trying to get the handle on things. Hope to be settled by next report.

Response

Dually noted.

UT-008-C Velvet Glove

Problem

To DC: "Domain of Salt Lake City, UT-014-D, SALT LAKE COUNTY UTAH
-- 2004/07" shows "VST Cam/Anarch Independents" prestige entries for Dineh Tores with no award values. I will report this on each report until I get clear award values for this award. I also have an entry on the same report that shows no prestige value.

Response

Dually noted.

Questions:

AZ-009 Que Sera Sera

Question:

How much longer before the Regional Coordinator SOP's will be available to the domain/chapter coordinator level?

Response:

. The prestige SOP was published in the last RC report, and the others shall filter down as they are completed.

CA-022 Dark Tower

Question:

I have not had any response to the issue raised in the last report so I will raise it again
this month: Chris DiAngelo (US2002021211) states that he has been waiting for approval for his MC increase to MC 9 since March and he now has enough for MC 10
but is hesitant to resubmit his new log until the first increase is confirmed.  Who do I need to contact about this?

Response:

The Member Review Office, see website

CA-030 Luna’s Reprisal

Question:

Jen turned in the Comic-Con Prestige to the DC almost Two months ago. Any word on what’s going on with that?

Response:

Pending DC response.

CA-037 Twilight Chronicles

Question:

1. Please verify the process for determining the Prestige and MC for returning Camarilla members.  I would assume that is merely a matter receiving a prestige log from the time prior to their initial departure.  Domain/Chapter Prestige records are currently available on the Domain Message Boards for the development of their prestige logs.
2. As noted by Harold Hulbert, SW-RAO Independents (US2002021065) Prestige Submittals for Domain Coordinators with no Chapter Coordinators in their charge are expect to submit their prestige to him for review.  Who do we submit our Presige Logs to for review?  Would that be Harold Hulbert (US2002021065) as well?

Response:

1.        If they simply lapsed their membership then this is the correct procedure, if they officially resigned from the camarilla then they forfeit any previously earned prestige by renouncing their membership.

2.        That is correct.

CA-060 No Remorse

Question

When is the Chapters division from the Domain going to take place.  I have recieved no confirmation of anything at any level.  Still pending information regarding this.  This has been pending for many months.  When will this be attended to?

Response

From RC: This is pending the NC, please submit to the NC a detailed email regarding the situation in full, and also an explicit and detailed list of reasons why his office should allow for this to occur as opposed to other options.  Please cc the RC’s Office as well.

Comments:

CA-018 Paradise Lost

Comment:

Waiting on results of DST election.  Prestige totals may not be 100% accurate as we are in the process of auditing all logs.

Response:

Dually noted.

CA-021 Moustique Noir

Comment:

Trying to update 35 members over six months worth of prestige over the holiday season is not the way to do it. As if holidays aren’t stressful enough!

As it is, this is a mostly blank report, except for the projects and comments section. The January report, which will be prepared by the new CC and myself, will have all updated prestige information on it.

Response:

It happens, keep up the good work and good luck.

CA-028 La Maison Du Sanguinaire

Comment:

Several members worked hard to make a cohesive city history for the Requiem venue. Interest in forming a domain is still high. Kris Smith and Matt Vallejos are working with me to find their prestige totals. The totals for this month reflect this month’s prestige only, and not their accurate prestige standing. There will be a dramatic jump in prestige in next month’s report for these members when we finish their audits.

Response:

Dually noted.

CA-030 Luna’s Reprisal

Comment:

Moving sucks. Jen Driscoll has stepped down as CC of Luna’s Reprisal and Mindy Johnson will be assuming CC duties as of now. Hard copies of reports and Chapter Treasury have already been turned over to her and the remainder of the paperwork will be e-mailed as soon as I am settled into my new home in Anaheim, CA.

Response:

Dually noted.

CA-037 Twilight Chronicles

Comment:

1. Of 23 members, (9) were active (defined as earning prestige) This represents 39% of the Domain at large.

2. No additional comments at this time.

Response:

Dually noted.

CA-051 The Domain of Myst

Comment:

Outgoing – I am stepping down as DC.  I am done once this report is posted.  I have had a good time and wish I could have contributed more.  However, occasionally life gets in the way.  I will be turning the funds over to the new DC once it is determined.

Response:

Dually noted, election pending the arb staff.

CA-060 No Remorse

Comment:

There should be a really good reason for this report being late. Unfortunately there isn’t. A combination of chapter apathy and not having done anything related to the Camarilla all month resulted in it being forgotten completely.

Response:

Dually noted and completely understood.

CA-064 Bitter Sanctuary

Comment:

The Chapter of Moonlight Masquerade is holding CC elections in January.

Response:

Dually noted.

CA-065 Aeternum Ludus

Comment:

Corrected prestige total for Mr. Hamon. Accidently awarded for AVST C/A last month because line was left in from last month's report. Also put regional awards on report for Mr. Hamon from the July- October regional reports. Though the prestige was awarded by the
RC Chris Williams, it was not recorded. Also verified with Anna Quinn, ARC Chief of Staff, that regional prestige does not apply toward admin cap. Adjusted back dated general awards for cap. Current totals are correct. Also fixed a few numbers that were off.

Response:

This issue was fixed in total.

Suggestions:

CA-018 Paradise Lost

Suggestion:

Go-go dancers.

Response:

Good idea.

CA-030 Luna’s Reprisal

Suggestion:

Keep up the good work?

Response:

We appreciate it.
