II. Summary of the Month:

Greetings SOUTH WEST!!!

I'm happy to say that outside a few bumps and bruises the South West seems to be going strong, we've been getting stronger and more constructive, growing in membership as well as in new chapters, venues and domains... all in all doing well for ourselves. I look forward to an incredible next few months as we ramp up to host the "Most Electrifying Event in White Wolf Entertainment." I'm really hoping that each and every one of you can come to this fantastic event and that we blow the doors on this ICC in Phoenix. To gear up for this, there will be a lot of changes, developments and projects to get you the member more involved with the Club, and also finding ways for the club to get more involved with you.

We are looking for your thoughts, ideas, and interests, what you would want to see, and how we can make and prove that the South West is your region, that we want you to be able to be proud of it and your fellow membership.

Keep an eye out, or even pipe up with your suggestions, we are here to help you, and look forward to the months ahead.

III. Questions/Problems from the RC & Staff:

Arbitration Office
	None at this time.
Charities Office
	There seems to be a lack of communication when charity drives are put on hold, and our Coordinator doesn't bother to give me any information as to why, unless I need to make my own conclusions. Also the continuing backlog of Charity prestige. Why have the current charity drives been put on hold?  Since the charity drives are on hold, and staff changes will be happening, (according to the February report), am I being replaced as RPM Charities? FROM THE RC: Charities have been put on hold because there needs to be a write up of what charities are currently being supported by the Region, how one participates, what qualifies as participation, how future charities can be added removed and changed. Replacement isn’t necessary but a Department – Standards and Procedures document is for future usage.

	Still confused over the April report. I was told that several problems existed with it and then I was told that all of the problems were already fixed.

The following projects are ongoing: Creating and maintaining an accurate database of South West Region members who are membership class 9+. Access for all DCs and CCs within the iCamarilla database.

Sepulchre issue has been resolved.  New CC has been voted into place and she is working on past due reports.  The HSC Coordinator has stated he will not be stepping down.  Now to get him a good ACC to help him out! CA-Pending A Dissident Recourse	Problems: Bryan Perryman was removed from Bitter Sanctuary Requiem VST.  Unfortunately events leading up to the referendum failed to resolve this.  This seems due to a lack of communication on a lot of members within the domain.  There are sore feelings on the part of Bryan Perryman for people not communicating their displeasure with his style of play.  I personally thought that he was doing fine but I was a minority opinion. FROM THE RC: I’d suggest that small gatherings be held that encourage members to mingle and talk, a question and answer forum perhaps where people can feel comfortable constructively expressing their ideas, likes and dislikes. [OLD] (2) [For National] Gary Corkins, US2002021215 was ANC-DB until April 2003. The April 2003 US National Chapters Coordinator Report lists an award/recommendation of 30N. This was never entered in the staff prestige listing on the website. Over the past 8 months I have sent several email requests to the ANC-Prestige, and 2 emails to the USNC, and have gotten no response at all. [UPDATE] I was asked by the SWRC to contact the SWRST and ask him to forward a recommendation to the SWRC. I sent a message to the SWRST, but have yet to hear back. The RC reports for September October, November & December neither approved or disapproved these awards, or even acknowledged them. I have recently resent these directly to the SWRC as per Anna. FROM THE RC: Addressed in this report. Questions: Suggestions: Comments: We are still getting new players at a fairly high rate. Not all of them are returning to play but some are. Our Trial members now outnumber the paid members. This is without any active recruiting projects at the moment. I have recruitment flyers read to go, but I am still holding back on distributing them, due to our ST Staff having quite a workload as it is with new players. On the last game of the month alone we had 5 first time players, plus someone who tried the game once before approximately 3 years ago. I am also in contact with 3 more potential recruits who have yet to attend a game. SWRE Bid During our short lived SWRE bid we discovered that the bid guidelines effectively preclude Salt Lake City from ever hosting SWRE again. The bid guidelines specify that SWRE is to take place in February or March, on even numbered years. Salt Lake City is a major skier destination we have some of the best skiing on earth, along with very close ski resorts, and a lengthy ski season. During the months of February and March, the local hotels are packed with skiers on vacation. Due to the high demand for hotel rooms, hotels can pretty much charge as much as they want for rooms during this period. The hotel we were talking to was willing to lower the room rate to the maximum under the bid guidelines, but only if they could charge a very high rate for the meeting space to make up for the lost revenue from the rooms. Since they know they can get high rates from the skiers, they have no reason to offer the Camarila any kind of deal. ConDuit was held during Memorial Day weekend. There was very little Camarilla presence, as very few members of the domain were able to attend. Jacqueline Marcisz put together a last minute Requeim TT game, using the Cam rules supplement as a demo game. Even though the game was scheduled for Midnight on Saturday night, she managed to get 11 players to participate. Three of the players were former Camarilla members who haven?t been members in over 8 years. The next day they told me that they were very impressed with the way the game was run, and that they are planning on attending Midsummer?s, and are interested in becoming members again. Other members of the domain in attendance also received similar reports. In addition several other people attending the convention expressed an interest in the Camarilla and may attend Midsummer?s as well. For Jacqueline?s efforts I have awarded her 10G Prestige under Special Jobs.
