II. Summary

Greetings South West!
NEGLECt has come to a conclusion and with it the name of the convention. The new United States convention will now be named the USCC. Given its proximity to EClipse and its distance from our coast, I was unsurprised at the small number of members who made the trip. I do hope that the South West will be able to put in a larger showing next year.
Here in the region, we are seeing a great deal of domain coordinator turnover, which indicates to me that now is the perfect time to set up the mentorship programs for coordinators and for members. Look out for that to occur over the next month or so. Additionally, the long delayed prestige project will be in full swing by this weekend. I have a phenomenal staff and am excited about everything that is coming down the pipes for the betterment and ease of the region. Finally, look out for the new RST to be named within the next couple of weeks.

There has been only one reply by the ARC Prestige, but he deferred the matter to the Regional Coordinator herself. There has been no further communication since.

With the recent controversy
about how prestige review are presently being conducted, will the Regional
Staff, or possibly National Staff, prepare any further guidelines or policies
regarding prestige reviews? The same standards used by the Regional and National
Staffs should also be made available to local chapter
and domain officers. Even a more comprehensive FAQ would be welcome to help
resolve specific or general issues.

Wright has noticed that his chapter members have not received any prestige for
the
Hurricane Katrina drive that was going on from November to January.

Suggestions: Our local blood banks are at dangerously low levels. I would like permission to recommend any from my domain who have donated blood to receive regional prestige as well to recognize they are going above and beyond and helping the blood banks at a very desperate time.

The chapter coordinator of Sin City Ghetto has not filed a report since he has taken office. He took office in December and we had a problem scheduling time for me to pass on the information for the chapter so I filed it for him. Since then there has not been a report filed even after repeated discussions that he wants the job, but he claims to still want the job. I am unsure of what to do at this point, I cannot remove him from office but the reports need to be filed. What I would like to see is that either the chapter be dissolved or a new election take place for the position.
