II. Summary

**********************************************************************

SoCon was a large success, in part due to the diligence of all the
volunteers, and in no small part thanks to all of you that attended. We
were able to raise a little over 900 dollars to donate to an NPO that
assists developmentally disabled adults with work contracts. They where
able to repair some equipment, as well as replace others that had been
broken. Your generosity and willingness to see an event succeed was
greatly appreciated. Lets keep this attitude up as we consider SWRE.

SWRE 2K10 has been announced! We’ll be in lovely Phoenix again, at the same
hotel that hosted us in 2008. Look forward to another announcement with the
finer details, as well as one when the website is up and running.

Also, SoCon prestige is found in this report. Please send any corrections
in to me ASAP, as I’ll be sending it up to National to put on the website by
the end of next week.

III. Questions & Answers

Problems:

As reported to the RC, there are several folks that didn’t seem to get
certain prestige awards in past DC reports but had them listed in their
prestige logs. A report to the RC on one of them explains this problem in
detail.

To resolve this issue I held a online workshop as listed above explaining
how prestige works, the members role in prestige and answered many, many
questions. I switched around some staff to help with this process also. I am
hopeful this will resolve any future issues.

Comments:

Requesting that Erick Quinones, US2002022535 – be awarded 20 prestige in the
exceptional cat for his work in going back several years in past reports to
help a member locate prestige that was missed.

Questions:

- I have two returning members who are having a rough time right now. Steven
Sutton, who has contacted the RC and myself previously, is still waiting on
a resolution in regards to getting his number associated with his e-mail. He
can't access his WW account, the CRD, or the Approvals Database, and we're
wondering how we can fix this.

- Bill McGilvray is trying to get his US2003 number associated with his
account instead of the US2009 number that he has right now. I'm guessing
that both issues are for the Member Services Advocate, but if there is
something we can do in the mean time until that election is concluded, I'd
be most appreciative.

cam.global.tech@gmail.com

*SWRC:* Keep close logs of their prestige. I would recommend that for Mr.
McGilvray that you include both his membership numbers on your report for
record keeping, until you hear back from the ACD Tech.

PROBLEMS:
Coordinator Reporting Recognition awards were not recorded or reported on
the National Coordinator Website. Many of these awards were reported and
recommended on the Regional report, but not all members were given credit on
the national coordinator site. Could this be rectified in any way? This is
in regards to January, 2009 - June, 2009 time frame.

The August 2009 RC report on camsw.org is incomplete.

resolution soon.

QUESTIONS:
Do people on the Regional level (and up) read these chapter reports (hey,
I'm just checking)?

ARC Admin response: I do most of the time, occasionally I merely skim them

*SWRC: *I read the reports as well, and try to answer the questions that are
on them. Sometimes however, I do admit to skimming. I recommend that
questions and concerns be in bold.

folded so I am no longer work on there election

Problems: to get the membership to get more involve and to communicate with
me more.

Future plans: To get more involvement. I am looking into running my two
front teeth & toys for tots in Dec I am communicating with the NC on
national charities

Completed

Ongoing: Google calendar still in the works. Contacting and sending
reminders to the DC to send me their domains schedules

ARC Mentorship/Outreach

ARC Publications

CURRENT PROJECTS:

The ARC Publications staff is currently working on the November/December
issue. Here are verified updates on the assignments:

- ICC review (Erin Ruston) -

Assignment in progress, Photos have been uploaded to her Facebook profile

- Coordinator's Corner column (Kristi Trujillo) -

Regional survey for research of the column has been made, no further word of
progress

- Interview with a Newbie (Erick Quinones) -

Final draft received and reviewed. Originally to be an interview with SoCom
lead, but interviewer was unable to secure an interview. Awaiting possible
accompanying photos

- Gaming on a Budget article/column (Ron Edens) -

First draft is received and reviewed. Awaiting final draft.

- Changeling: The Lost fiction (Sarah Himebaugh) -

Final draft received and reviewed. Awaiting accompanying artwork

Artwork and the cover art has not been assigned yet. There will be (or was)
n All-Call for artists and photographers.

PROBLEMS:

Nothing major yet. However, we are dealing with the expected delay due to
late assignments. Art direction could also be a potential issue, but is
being dealt with.

Any method, permission, or procedures needed for uploading the newsletter to
the Regional site?

PROBLEMS:

The camera that had many of the photos from SoCon is missing/stolen, much to
the frustration and embarrassment of the camera's owner (the dumb-ass ARC
Publications). There were some photos from the event though it's going to be
more of a make-do-with-what-we-have kinda thing, if there is a review of
SoCon in the newsletter.
